    Hey, I'm happy to announce that micro adjustments are possible now. After new update there is new setting called "FPS Pro Mode". When active it eliminates all deadzones, so the sticks are suuuuuper sensitive. The controller is usable now! :)

      Is it really better now? And did you change the 'right stick selected model' aswell? I have it default on Linear but i dont feel any difference yet.

      Yes, it worked for me. This is night and day difference. My config is: small shaft, linear and FPS pro mode on for both sticks. Remember to set profile for your platform of choice and turn advanced mode on (silder to A).

    In fairness, no 3rd party controller has rumble for ps5. Only the edge, and the companies who are modding stock ps5 controllers, like scuf, since theyre starting with stock they can retain it.

    Great video. You’re correct re: the deadzone of the right thumbstick. Accuracy is definitely affected and it’s across the complete rotation. Also thought the back buttons were too flush and low for my taste.

    I just bought this controller hoping to never have to deal with stick shift ever again but... the thing you mentioned, the dead zone being too large for shooters... that's killing it for me. I thought I just had the wrong response curve. No. The controller just won't pick up the minute movement. Damn. Sony really spoiled me.

      so for me on my ps5 its fine. I noticed it and you can also see it in the windows configuration app, but i got used to it and switched the highest thumpstick to the mid version and it was less noticable:)

      and it forgot to mention: now you can also set the stickts to "FPS-Mode" via the windows app witch completly eliminates all of the deadzone. even the slightest touch is noticable and the "problem" is gone. Nacons software got a little bit of deadzone for the hall sticks for other games but the new FPS mode is there to set the deadzone to a reral 0

    Why Gulikit is taking so long to release the hall effect sticks for the ps5 controller?

    • @wakaflockaproject
      @wakaflockaproject ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A good reason is why isn't sony doing that

    • @PloopChute
      @PloopChute 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @wakaflockaproject Sony isn't doing it for the same reason Microsoft and Nintendo don't.
      They'd rather sell you overpriced e-waste that they know will fail quickly. Why sell a person 1 or 2 controllers over the lifespan of the console if you can sell them that many every year or two?
      It's pathetic, but it is what it is. It's the same reason they unnecessarily solder the joystick modules to the board and have proprietary potentiometer calubration software that is t available to the public.
      To prevent the vast majority of consumers from fixing it themselves on the cheap, and for those that DO replace their own worn out joysticks, theirs a large chance that the new joysticks will drift right out of the box. Every joystick on every controller is calibrated during manufacturing. They make it as hard as possible for users to fix it themselves.
      As bad as Nintendo is, at least the joycon's thumbsticks only use ribbon cables and screws and the Switch allow calibratration.

    • @PloopChute
      @PloopChute 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably because the Dualsense, Dualshocks, and Xbox controllers all require soldering. And there is no settings in place for calibration when a new joystick is installed, which is basically mandatory unless Gulikit wants to deal with a lot of angry customers.
      Both the Switch and the Steamdeck (the only two platforms with available thumbstick replacements they offer) use only ribbon cables and screws for their joystick modules, both also have calibration settings available. It sucks, but the reason we don't have any good options is because Sony intentionally made it a nightmare to repair their controllers.
      There are some other 3rd party hall sensors available now, but the process gets pretty convoluted. First gen offerings suffered from jitter and required a seperate board be installed for each stick. Now they seemingly solved that issue by incorporating the board into the module, but making sure you have the correct model is a pain considering the primary place to get them is from Aliexpress.
      Plus, calibrating them requires literally shoving a pin into holes on the module while shifting the joystick until its centered using gamepad tester, but there are also issues with circularity. While it's more than okay for people saying single player or casual games and will likely go unnoticed, competitive players will have a bad time.
      If you look up hall sensor joysticks for dualsense on youtube, you'll see a fair amount of stuff posted in the last half a year or so.
      There is also another solution for drift which is MUCH easier, but it's more of a bandaid.
      You can get "drift fix" boards that solder on to the opposite side of the board with their own X&Y potentiometers you can fine tune using a screw head, it allows you to counteract any drift in the sticks. It IS still soldering. But very simple soldering. Much simpler and far mkre foolproof than replacing the joysticks.

    As I throw away my 4th dual sense PS5 controller, I could care less about the haptic feedback. If this controller last more than a few months before drifting - Calling it a win. Since day one I thought the gimmick of "oh its like I'm really swimming" or "oh my it's actually a cobblestone road" based on some vibrations in a controller was some of the dumbest @#$@ marketing has ever successfully sold everyone on, the number of reviewers selling ps5 console based on this idiotic gimmick that reduced consumer choices was and remains baffling. Thank god there is a no sony nonsense controller out there. Thanks for the detailed review but that specific "the bad" is an overwhelming "the good" in my books.

      @DoubleTakeTechUk  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the comment.
      Well, I did feel incredibly satisfied holding the controller and think overall design and build quality is pretty good.
      A lot of people I've spoken with that do not play games which require as much precision, loved the controller and did not notice the deadzone.
      I've just bought the scuf envision pro and I did prefer the feel of Nacon in my hands.
      So yes, I do think overall the controller is pretty good. There are too many buttons and people struggling with controlling their headphones through the controller aux connection but I think all of that is navigatable.

The Victrix you need to purchase the modules from Amazon but the base sticks lasted me like a year and a half I think before I swapped them out for a Hall effect module. Also this revolution pro 5 seems like a pain to mess with/customize, where as the Victrix was easy out of the box. I’m glad I bought the Victrix, especially after seeing stick drift nonsense still occurs on all these modern controllers. To add to the bad:
    - You cannot use a wired headset with inline mic plugged into the audio jack. The mic will not be recognized.
    - If you use a wireless headset (I use a Steelseries 7p+) paired to your PS5 via a dongle, the mute button on the controller does not work.
    - I have yet to find out how you can use the mute button.
    - No English manual (only French and Dutch), unless you go to their website > support.
    - No responses from customer service. I have written to them to ask whether I have a faulty unit since the mic is not recognized and the mute button doesnt work. No response whatsoever.
    - All in all, for 230 EUR this is not worth it. You better stick to a Scuf Reflex or the Dualsense Edge.
    Also, how were you able to test circularity? I tried on Mac, but I do not see this information. Do you have to use a pc for it to work?
