to this day Soul Eater is still my fav manga of all time, i just wish the anime would get a remake already

When I watched the show, they played op 2 over a super intense fight and I was deadass just thinking of spongebob the whole time.
Somehow made the moment hit even harder

its not a bad anime at all! its just one of those anime that released faster than the manga so they had to come up with their own story. the first half that follows the manga is very good imo, and the rest isnt bad! its good, not as good as the manga, but still enjoyable to watch!
the ending is what a lot of people hate about it. i personally think that yeah its pretty cringey but there Is some cool moments in it. i really like the villian hes rather cool. hes the final villian of the manga too so hes not an anine only character
manga spoilers if you ever wanna read it, but i just really wish the villian, asura, got the backstory he did in the manga bk i love it. asura is the son of death himself, a different species of creature called a reaper. how reapers reproduce apparently is they take off a part of their soul, a certain emotion. he has two children, death the kid and asura. death the kid was made when death cut off the "order" part of his soul, and thus kid basically has turbo ocd and is rather controlling, because he has an innate need for order. but asura, the firstborn, was made from deaths Fear. which means the majority of his entire soul is just made up of fear, dude is constantly absolutely terrified of everything untill he just practicaly goes numb as a defense mechanism and tries to be the most powerful being ever so he will never have to fear again, which i thonk is a really interesting way of explaining a villian. which is why it sucks that in the anime hes not even deaths child and is never given much of an explanation at all. so id just say go into the anime with the manga backstory in mind bk it does him more justice
I see so it kinda got the same fate as FMA before brotherhood but the original FMA was still enjoyable so I’ll def check it out! I did not read the spoiler portion lol I may still read manga
@@Randombagofchips yeah exactly! it's not bad, but the creators original intent and story will always be better imo. and that's good, I've heard a lot of good things about the manga! just know my favorite character, the villian, is done a lot more justice in the manga and is more interesting lol

@@Randombagofchips definitely haha! its a classic and I think the vibes of the anime are so cool, a big inspiration for the series was tim burton and I think it got the vibe perfectly. this sort of spooky and scary vibe that is also just playful and innocent and reminds me of trick or treating on halloween and judt the joy of halloween in general. and then it just has moments where it's genuinely disturbing and downright creepy. even if you dont like the later plot, I still just greatly enjoy it for the vibes, character design, and esoecially the anime ost, it seriously has a great ost, and the anine elevates the cool vibes since everything is in color and animated, although the manga has beautiful art
im reading the manga, it's the anime that has a mix reception because of how it ends.

@@Randombagofchips the anime diverges from the manga but it's not bad until the ending battle which has lot of friendship believing tropes and left lot of fans deflated.
still i might check out the anime when i am finished reading.

(Soul Eater Not is the same as Sword of Oratoria with DanMachi, both are NOT "spin-offs", as they both deal with the main story/plot lines for their anime/manga)

@@Randombagofchips this anime is really good, but it's old now, and most people only know/watch 'fire force' anime/manga, sadly
(supposedly, 'fire force' is either years before or after, forgot which, Soul Eater, as they're in the same universe, just different time periods, and are done by the same author: after soul eater, created fire force)
some people don't like the anime, as it deviates quite a bit from the manga, and/or skips over things and/or tries to cover too much for the amount of anime episodes it got
however, the anime by itself (especially if you don't know the manga that well), is quite fine, even if the ending half feels a bit rushed/crammed
highly recommend Soul Eater, it's a classic
(as for whether to watch Soul Eater Not, as well, is up to you, it is directly part of Soul Eater, but it's style/feel is quite different)

its worth it people only salty cause they wanted soul eater reboot/continued story from the previous characters but it focus on 3 different main characters while the originals are in the background. lowkey its not bad as people make it out to be. heck i even re watched it a while back an nah it aint terrible @@Randombagofchips
