This movie really hit me. Especially with the main message of learning to forgive yourself and finding the strength to move on. Everyone was telling me “oh you’re gonna cry”, almost every time they told me to react to this movie. Which is the reason I didn’t cry. But just because I didn’t have tears, doesn’t mean the movie didn’t connect with me. It not only connected with my heart, but also connected with my soul. It truly is a beautiful story that I will never forget. What did y’all think of A Silent Voice?
Fun fact: The composer actually put microphones inside a piano to record the vibrations and clicks that people don't usually hear to capture the idea of the vibrations of music that a deaf people would usually feel.
My wife was born deaf, she has told me how hard she had it at school, she got bullied and had a really bad time trying to learn like everybody else. She has also worn a hearing aid since she was a kid. This movie hit me like a truck when I saw it like a year ago, makes me understand what she might have gone trough and how mean people can be. I just wanna say that this movie was awesome and makes me love my wife even more if that makes any sense. I try my best to make her happy, I sometimes don't even notice she is deaf, cause she is normal like any other woman, but special to me!

I will always hate the blonde girl. Always made herself seem like the innocent one, yes she didn't physically hurt her, but she still laughed and made no effort to stop it, and would continually make herself the victim. Such a good movie about social anxiety, regrets, and making amends with the past. Always an emotional ride with this.
Her and the black haired girl r trash. I don't know y he didn't tell the black haired girl to fuck off after the way she treated Shouko. Instead he let her be in his friend group. And the ending makes it seem like he became friends again with those trash dickheads who were also complicit in the bullying but then started bullying him. They were never his friends to begin with after how fast they turned on him.
Ong, I ain’t gonna lie to you I hated her more than ueno. Ueno did what she did but at least she took it to the chest. That blonde girl was moving like she has no contribution when she never did anything to stop them
I know this film is difficult for translators. but "I want to help you live" part was subtle. in Japanese, Ishida says "I want you to help me live." I like this line that makes Shoko realize that she is not only protected. They are to help each other. Ishida's kind word to want her to like herself.
I watched the mpvie on animix play and the translation was spot on in that part that exact sentence was said. i was kinda diss watching tjis because so many sentences that had way more impact were changed
I love the symbolism of ishida covering his ears. He hated himself for hurting a deaf girl, so he refuses to both look at connection and makes himself deaf to it for what he believes is her sake.
Im pretty sure he is covering his ears because in his mind everyone is talking shit abt him so he doesnt wanna hear it. He hates himself so he thinks everyone does too. In the ending when he started forgiving himself and hear what people are actually saying.
I heard somewhere that the reason the little sister takes pictures of dead things was because of how many times the deaf girl attempted suicide. She wanted to prove to her sister how horrible death looks to the people who discover the bodies.
I have never, NEVER laughed harder than the editing at the very end where they show each person one at a time, and then it shows Mashiba and Nick has a visceral reaction like, "Wtf is this guy still doing here." That got me so good
I’m Japanese and I love your reaction videos! By the way, the scene where Shoko told Shoya that she liked him is a little complicated when its on subtitles. The word “like” is “好き(Suki)” in Japanese, but because of her speaking abilities, it sounded like she said “月(Tsuki)” which means “the moon” in English. So that’s why Shoya misunderstood. Also, in Japan, we only say the word “好き(Suki)” to the opposite sex when we mean “I love you” as a romantic phrase. So Shoko probably loved Shoya, both as a friend and as a lover. いつも見てて楽しい動画をありがとう!
Someone very important to me once told me the following and I couldn't agree with him more: A Silent Voice is not a story about a guy falling in love with a girl, its about a guy being able to love himself again.
I think that’s what makes it so great is by loving himself again he not only learns to love others more but he realizes how much love is reciprocated back and how joyful it makes him
He may have been a bully, but I honestly put 90% of the blame onto the teachers. When you're a child, you're still learning how to react to new things. Kids who are taught how to handle diversity well become kind and caring, whereas people who aren't have a higher chance of reacting to it badly. He was just a kid who didn't react well, enabled by everybody around him until it no longer benefited them. They all were. But instead of correcting it when it was happening, the teacher just let it happen until there was no way to ignore it anymore, and then instead of telling everybody off and having a proper sit down about it all, he pinned it all on one kid and turned that kid into the scape goat. Yelling at him and getting everybody to gang up on him. None of the kids in that classroom turned out okay. And a big part of that is because of the teacher.
@@gemmacruz6356no fr cause in the manga he was so much worse. He let it happen, and when they reunited in high school the teacher was all like “you see you grew into a nice young man because of all the trouble you caused in elementary.” And was like “yeah she was a burden.” N stuff. Made me so angry
The most overlooked thing in this movie is the fact that the mother never learned sign language which is just crazy... There are so many small details in this movie to make it absolutely perfect.
I believe mother basically was expecting daughter to get stronger through additional hardship at home. The "you gotta do better to receive my affection" treatment. She was acting that way because she herself felt weak and powerless in that situation. Abandoned by her husband and scorned by his family, unable to help(and later protect) her child. Naturally, in terms of artistic undertones it signifies her cutting the connection with her suffering child, refusing to hear her voice. In a way it also makes her "deaf" to her own children, isolated in her own house about as much as both of her daughters.
@@Poppenheimer69i always hoped the part with her getting a haricut and bonding with his mom helped start to help her heal and maybe look at things differently. I feel it was a symbol of her growth as a person as well.
The fact that the apology of Shokos Mom in the hospital hit you that hard is so relatable. The moment she put her head to the ground I started tearing up. Also major props to Saori Hayami (Same VA as Shinobu in Demon Slayer) for giving a believable and authentic voice to a deaf girl, while being fully capable to hear and speak.
Don't forget: For most people it's much harder to cry in front of a camera than when they're alone. In my own private room I cried like a little baby to this movie, especially to the ending.
As a hard-of-hearing and chronically ill person, this movie deeply resonated with me and was done very well. I was also severely bullied in middle school and high school, and I had to transfer more than once. There was even a point where it was a teacher who broke my hearing aids and injured me rather than the usual students. This movie has a very emotional meaning to me, having had these same experiences. It shows the harsh realities of living in the world as a disabled individual and doesn't sugarcoat the mental trauma brought on by dealing with the relentlessness of negative people and the limitations of whatever disabilities and/or illnesses you have. I will say there was also some satisfaction and validation when you kept getting mad at the bullying and such lol
hope you're in a good spot now 🙏 kids can be very cruel to others and things that they don't understand and not everyone has a good enough upbringing to be good right from the start. Not even remotely meant to be an excuse in any form, but a tragic explanation that I hope one day we will never see happen again. Workin towards it one step and awareness at a time
Shoko actualy saved him at the end. Cuz she sensed his soul was living his body (symbolized by the fish leaving) and when he heard her cry, the fish (his soul) turned around to come back in his body. ❤
I've watched it so many times, but that scene that shoko kneels in front of the mother still makes my eyes burn. the voice actress did such a great job.
31:30 As a Japanese speaker this scene is so sad yet makes so much sense(in Japanese of course) Suki=I like and Tsuki= Moon And some may think look at the context, but if you look at it from his perspective he would never even consider for a second that she may like him so when she spoke he heard exactly what she ended up saying.
A Silent Voice is genuinely my favourite movie of all time, even outside of anime. It might not have any epic fights or convoluted plot lines, but the raw emotions that this movie can make you feel are just extremely deep and personal. The topics it tackles and the characters in it make you feel so connected to the story, it's beautiful. I'm really glad you reacted to this movie and give it the appreciation it deserves, it's truly one of a kind.
This is my favorite movie, in particular because it helped me cope with my childhood traumas. After going to high school, I hated myself because of the way I behaved in elementary school, and I thought that all my former classmates hated me too. But after I watched "The Silent voice" (and cried for almost a week), I finally decided to write a huge message with apologies to the guys I bullied. And you know what? They said that they aren't mad at me at all! Now, when I rewatch the movie, I don't cry at all (well, maybe only at the end), and throughout the movie there is only a sad smile on my face. And by the way, I bought a manga :3
@@F_2night Seems like a good chance to reread it. If you like let me know how u feel about it when ur done. No one in my circle read it and it's too awesome not to talk about it :)
Fun fact if you didn't know but the composer "Kensuke Ushio" also made osts for Chainsaw man, Heavenly delusion, Devilman crybaby, Dangers in my heart. he is an amazing talented composer. his work on these projects is superb
as someone with anxiety, seeing him take his hands off his ears and realize the people around him aren't talking about him like he thought they were previously, jesus christ it never fails to make me cry
This is my absolute favorite movie of all time. I was introduced to it by an ex gf who was deaf in one ear and hard of hearing in her other one. It truly hit me on a personal level and even after her and I have moved on it only made it feel more personal and I still enjoy it to this day. I managed to learn a lot of ASL from her and for her and I don't regret it at all. I just wish more people knew it sign language or at least understood the struggles deaf people have.
46:02 Shouko signs “Thank you” instead of goodbye, since she expects to never see him again. You gotta know sign language to pick up on her tone and feelings.
OH NAH, let's go! This is literally my favorite anime movie til' this day. It hits way too close to home on so many levels, that every time I watch it or experience somebody watching it, I just burst into tears in the same 4 or 5 moments. I've yet to bring myself to go through the manga of it, but I definitely will. The weirdest and also kinda precious thing that happened to me when watching for the first time was during that last scene, the moment all the X-s fall down and I've started wiping my face with the same motions Ishida did just a few moments later. Man, I can't even properly articulate what I feel about this movie, because I still get too emotional to do so. Maybe one day.
I also love this movie so much it’s my favorite movie period, not just anime movie. I lowkey don’t want to read the manga because I hear it’s better than the movie, and the movie means so much to me, I don’t want that to change
This movie is amazing and really resonates with me on a personal level. I used to pretty much be in the same position as Shoko when growing up, being that I was hard-of-hearing and wore hearing aids. Getting constantly harassed and bullied in Elementary and Middle School (even High School sometimes), it very much weighed on my mental health just like it did for Shoko. Seeing all of that reflected in this film just really strikes a chord with me, and the manga is even better too.
This is my favorite anime movie, just hits so hard with the topics they go over. Everytime I watch it theres 2 scenes I cry no matter how I feel. So glad you enjoyed it and appreciated since it means so much to so many people.
3:45 in this scene that green hair girl (forgot her name) opens her mouth way earlier than others and shoko seems to have noticed and that’s why she started singing I’m not sure if my interpretation is correct but I’ll like to belive that she deliberately opened her mouth to embarrass shoko just shows that bullying can come in many forms sometimes even the one being bullied doesn’t realize
I really enjoyed your discussion in this video. Like I could tell you connected with this film from how you talked about Ishida's journey from blaming himself to learning to love himself. And you caught some of the foreshadowing, like Nishimiya trying to grab onto him earlier in the film. You should not have to feel forced to cry or react a certain way because of your audience. I loved this reaction because you were just being real
Wow, I’m thankful for Nick’s perspective and grounded commentary at the end of the video. It’s not a side we see often, so it’s nice to know you also deal with that sort of stuff and gone through your own journey
movie was so good i made my essay assignment on this movie i think its such a deep movie about anyone who feels regret for what theyve done people who blame themselves and people who were in the bullied position i think it just hits everything really well i remember seeing a post hating this movie cause it glorified the bully but they literally failed to understand the basic premise of the movie
I am so beyond glad to see that you got just as much enjoyment out of this movie as I did. At it's simplest, this movie is about a boy learning to forgive himself, to love himself and to understand his own value. People make mistakes that others may find unforgivable every day. Having the ability to recognize those flaws in yourself, work toward correcting your course by taking accountability for those mistakes and being attentive to the needs of those around you takes more courage than anything in the world. It takes an extreme amount of resolve to analyze yourself in this way. Some even find the struggle worth ending their life over. But you have to courage to do that, endure that punishment, build relationships and come out the other side knowing that you have people that support you and see value in you beyond your flaws, then that is about the most self aware and fulfilled that you can ever hope yourself to be. I think this film does such a better job of visually and verbally communicating mental illness, disability and the mental struggle of trying to accept yourself than I've seen in any film of its kind. Every time I watch this film, it breaks me down and puts me back together every time.
I'm happy my favourite reactor likes this piece, Nick. I think it's a masterpiece that painstakingly depicts the process of regretting past actions, reforming and learning to forgive oneself. On the other hand the villain, Ueno, who struggles to do so, might actually be the child who needs the most emotional care, and I just can't bring myself to hate her. Having read the original, I've come to understand her a little better. By the way, I didn't realise when I first saw the movie that Sahara's VA was the same as Mikasa's.
31:20 I am Japanese. It's long, Nicholas, but I hope you can read it. In Japan, men sometimes express "I love you" as "The moon is beautiful." At this time, Ishida misheard Nishimiya's "Suki" as "Tsuki". This is not a scene that Ishida intentionally knew and expressed, but a scene in which his feelings of "liking" for Nishimiya happened to come out unintentionally as words. This story is derived from an episode in which the Japan writer Natsume Soseki pointed out to a student who translated "I love you" as "I love you" when he was an English teacher, "Japan people don't say that, but the moon is beautiful." In Japan, there are cases where the expression is not direct but indirect and profound. This expression is so beautiful that it is still sometimes used as an elegant expression of affection. This kind of expression is sometimes used outside of this anime, so just knowing the meaning of this expression will allow you to enjoy the anime even deeper!
to me personally, “hitting way too close to home” is an understatement, when I was little, I had trouble making friends, so I found comfort in violence (for some reason), and hurt a lot of people, but as I grow older I can finally see the damage I've done, to the person I care, to my family, even to the people that is no longer with us, so through out my life I've been wanting to kill myself for this burning self-hatred, but if I do that I would hurt the person that cares about me even more, so I sealed myself away from the rest of the world, but this movie helps me realize there is a chance for redemption, even for the worst scum like me so I will rate this movie 10/10 absolutely must watch, this movie changed my life in some degree
This movie has a special place in my heart since I was going through something heartbreaking the year I got through it but because I related to it and I think watching it was one of the healthiest choices I could’ve made
At 52:00 in you reaction he sais: "I want help you .. ", but it is a wrong translation, ist must be "I want YOU to help ME live". That ist much more, it gives a purpose to her and she does exactly that by guiding him form this moment on.
Thanks for this Nick, been waitin' for this one for a while and it's great to finally see what you think of one of my favourite anime films / general films of all time, you're a legend 👊
Oh dang, you'd already reacted to this! This is still so far my favorite animated film. There's a lotta great ones out there, some I can even admit to be objectively better. But this stuck with me in so many ways that others just can't, and for a lotta the reasons that I'm sure most folks have already left in the comments as well. Everything about it just hits. The way the piano keys feel weighty, where you can even hear the hammer hit the string. The soft, warm colors and lines that KyoAni's perfected. The subtlety in the facial animations and movements that are easy to miss (it's catching one of these that's very reason that Kawai is still my most hated character). The camera angles that often put one in a sort of first-person view, not really in the same head as the characters, but giving an idea of where they're looking and how they're feeling. Everything, man.
A silent voice has always been my favourite since the moment I watched it bc i could relate to it. even watching it in my worse times, it made me emotional broken but now I watched it again with you guys and I can proudly say that I've ivercame everything and all the "dark days " when I was literally about to end it all. Btw I've already watched it like 5 times 😆
I havent seen this movie yet! Until i saw that you reacted to it, so i stopped your video after 4 minutes and watched it on my own first. Then i watched your reaction. Thank you for showing me this awesome movie nic! It really was amazing
Something that is often missed is that young Ishida was internalizing his classmates' reactions towards Nishimiya. He could see their frustration and even told her on the playground that she was inconveniencing them. His bullying was his outward expression of everyone's frustration, which is why no one REALLY tried to stop the bullying. So it really sucked when they made him the scapegoat. I am not justifying his actions -- I think the teacher is more at fault than a young child who didn't know how to handle big emotions -- but he shouldn't have had to bear the blame for the entire class either.
It's awesome to see you react to something completely different from usual. Fun fact, Shoko was voiced by Yor's VA, Saori Hayami. One of my favorite anime movies other than this is probably Wolf Children. The beginning may weird you out because of the furry stuff, but later on, it becomes an emotional and lovely story between a mother and her children.
I like this anime film, I have rewatched it many times... because it really reflects me, when I was little, I was a naughty child. I liked bullying, however, over time... starting from middle school,The situation turned around for me, until high school, I started being bullied... after graduating, I was still traumatized by that... I had problems with my personality, which became introverted, insecure,And overthinking with the people around me. And now I'm still trying to be free from all that and return to being a good and freer person. I highly recommend this anime,Many lessons about life❤
this. this one is my favorite anime movie of all time. weirdly enough, even tho this is my favorite movie, I will NEVER rewatch this. I just can't, because it's too sad, but it's so beautiful.
I love a lot of japanese animations/movies but I think this one (The silent voice) is my favorite because it's so realistic, it was with real situation that is still relevant everywhere in the World and most of the time in schools. The message this movie gives us is amazing and wonderful. Redemption exists but people need to work a lot on themself to change and need to choose to move on. Ishida did but a little bit complicated to Ueno and Kawaii who both are bullies too but one didn't hide what she thinks and the other one is a hypocrite. I remember watching this alone in my room and cried my balls out XD
I just finished watching hours and hours of your AOT reaction videos, and to see you react to and enjoy one of my favorite pieces of media of all time makes me so happy :)
This is one of my favorite anime movies. The symbolism in it was top tier. Now I don't know if you take much recommendations but I do recommend "Josee, The Tiger and The Fish". Now it's been a while since I've seen it, but from what I remember, it was a beautiful story and I am really curious on how you will react on it.
i loved this movie, and I'm so glad you liked it. As for my favorite anime movie, nothing can top Princess Mononoke for me, honestly. But I do love those classic darker anime films that came out. Another great one is Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. And one that I rewatch all the time is Ponyo haha it's so cute
Very relatable movie for me. I was bullied throughout school, especially in high school, and was very introverted in general. I used to walk around with my head down looking at the ground instead of at eye level. It's not like I didn't have friends, but there wasn't anyone I really clicked with until my junior year of high school. A friend of mine moved away at the end of my sophomore year, but there was a girl he was childhood friends with, and on the first day of my junior year she saw that I was alone at lunch and invited me to sit with her friends at their lunch table. They were all either a year older or a year younger than me, cool outsider types who were into art and music. From then my life changed a lot, I became more outgoing and would hang out with them outside of school and started engaging in extracurricular activities. It's just a shame it took me that long to open up, kind of a bummer to know that there was this group of people I really connected with but was born a year too late or a year too early to have met them earlier in my school life.
This movie made me cry like a baby. As someone who was bullied and did some awful shit myself,it really hit hard. I’m still on a journey to love myself. Thanks for watching this Nick
One of my favorite anime movies is definitely when marine was there by studio Ghibli. It’s honestly one i never see it get talked about and i’d recommend to anyone. It’s just a beautiful story about healing and cheering up and finding yourself. Definitely check it out❤️ a silent voice is spectacular aswell
A silent voice is my favourite anime movie too. I highly recommend you to watch "Maquia: When the promised flower blooms" which is my second favourite and it's criminally underrated and underappreciated.
a silly remark is that Nishimiya makes the sign like a peace out, that meaning see you later, but in the firework festival, before her attempt, she doesn't sign that.
I've watched this movie 2 times, and this is my second time watching a reaction to it and going all the way throw it, still can't stop sobbing 😂, It's a masterpiece.
I think it’s so easy to forget that Ishida was the only bully who took responsibility (even if it was pushed onto him). I notice a lot of reactors are unable to forgive the other characters but I think an important moral of this story is that people can become better. Ishida had a bit of a head start since he was the only one who actually was forced to reflect on what he did. All of the others avoided responsibility when they pushed the blame onto him. That isn’t to say they missed their chance, they didn’t. For as long as you live, you can always take a moment to reflect. But sometimes, especially for children, they need a bit of guidance from outside of themselves.
I recommend Your Name if you didn't watch it yet. And if you want to get real depressed watch Grave of the Fireflies. It's the saddest thing you can get
10/10. Deep meaning to the whole story, great animation, music and characters. A story that makes us want to be better actually! You should definitely give "Your Name" a try sometime soon, two peak movies!
❤ thank you for finally watching my favorite anime film of all time. This movie really left a mark in my soul that no other movie, let alone anime movie, has been able to hit since.
The creator also made an anime called To Your Eternity it's a masterpiece, in my top 10 best anime. You have to watch To Your Eternity...and just a heads up it's got action, adventure, fantasy and all the cool stuff in it so if you read the title and think it's just a sad anime or whatever it's actually got some action and fights and cool stuff for you to see. Very powerful story telling though, amazing characters and world building
I never knew, I have to check it out. could you please suggest me whether I should watch the anime or read the manga? (assuming you finished them both)
@@NamJunhyun season 2 I think was a bit disappointing, season 1 was great and some people thought the last arc in season 1 was mid but some people love that arc too. I think either way there's not really any bad parts of the anime but there is some parts less good. Either way just watch season 1, maybe the first 12 episodes is the best part to start with. First 12 episodes are literally perfect, can't find any flaws with them if I had to
@@Sinnohy The anime is certainly very well done, beautifully animated, they really did a great job with the anime I think it's an adaptation that can do the manga justice

The fact that The Boss Baby won an Oscar over this work of art 💀
Yeah, one of the biggest robbery in the movie industry of all time
It didn't win, it was nominated, A silent voice wasn't even fucking nominated, so it's even worse
Boss baby better🗿
Oscar is for Hollywood movies. They give very less attention to foreign movies so I am not surprised.
The boss baby > a silent voice 🙃

Someone very important to me once told me the following and I couldn't agree with him more: A Silent Voice is not a story about a guy falling in love with a girl, its about a guy being able to love himself again.
I completely agree with this
I think that’s what makes it so great is by loving himself again he not only learns to love others more but he realizes how much love is reciprocated back and how joyful it makes him
Isn't it Garnt who said that?
@@Gokul-ge6fjliterally everyone who has watched the movie says that.
This is exactly what it is about
He may have been a bully, but I honestly put 90% of the blame onto the teachers.
Teacher was terrible
I hate the teacher, especially in the manga 🤬
@@gemmacruz6356no fr cause in the manga he was so much worse. The most overlooked thing in this movie is the fact that the mother never learned sign language which is just crazy...
There are so many small details in this movie to make it absolutely perfect.
That's sad tbh. It's one thing if she tried but she never bothered?
@@anonisnoone6125 like, I don't know what the author thought the reason is but it's there and it's pretty rough...
HEY!!! That’s a damn good point! How tf did I never realize that before?!?
The fact that the apology of Shokos Mom in the hospital hit you that hard is so relatable. The moment she put her head to the ground I started tearing up.

I will say there was also some satisfaction and validation when you kept getting mad at the bullying and such lol
hope you're in a good spot now 🙏
kids can be very cruel to others and things that they don't understand and not everyone has a good enough upbringing to be good right from the start.
Not even remotely meant to be an excuse in any form, but a tragic explanation that I hope one day we will never see happen again.

31:30 As a Japanese speaker this scene is so sad yet makes so much sense(in Japanese of course)

The manga goes a lot deeper! I can only recommend it! Literally saw the trailer and decided to buy the manga :)

I dont ever cry watching anime at all, but this movie was the only one to every make me cry 😅
Same
I also love this movie so much it’s my favorite movie period, not just anime movie.
Finally after about two years of waiting i can watch this reaction 😭 Thank you so much Nick!

So happy you’re reacting to this
Wow, I’m thankful for Nick’s perspective and grounded commentary at the end of the video. It’s not a side we see often, so it’s nice to know you also deal with that sort of stuff and gone through your own journey
movie was so good i made my essay assignment on this movie
i think its such a deep movie about anyone who feels regret for what theyve done
people who blame themselves
and people who were in the bullied position
i think it just hits everything really well
i remember seeing a post hating this movie cause it glorified the bully but they literally failed to understand the basic premise of the movie
The scene when he reads his classmates’s lips badmouthing him really hit me, he realized nishimaya could do the same !
"He's the one that's been deaf" honestly made me CRY AGAIN, it's so true. this movie is an easy 10/10
W interpretation
31:20 I am Japanese. It's long, Nicholas, but I hope you can read it.
In Japan, men sometimes express "I love you" as "The moon is beautiful."
At this time, Ishida misheard Nishimiya's "Suki" as "Tsuki". This is not a scene that Ishida intentionally knew and expressed, but a scene in which his feelings of "liking" for Nishimiya happened to come out unintentionally as words.
This story is derived from an episode in which the Japan writer Natsume Soseki pointed out to a student who translated "I love you" as "I love you" when he was an English teacher, "Japan people don't say that, but the moon is beautiful."
In Japan, there are cases where the expression is not direct but indirect and profound. This expression is so beautiful that it is still sometimes used as an elegant expression of affection.
This kind of expression is sometimes used outside of this anime, so just knowing the meaning of this expression will allow you to enjoy the anime even deeper!
Omg Yes! This is my favorite movie of all time!
Love this movie. Appreciate that you watched it, I don't even know you or your videos but I like your reaction.
LETSS GOOOOOO NICK WATCHING ONE OF MY FAVORITE ANIME MOVIES. Also rip to the people lost during the kyo ani arson attack
This is my favorite movie of all time, so it was a pleasant surprise to see you pop into my feed with a reaction.
to me personally, “hitting way too close to home” is an understatement, when I was little, I had trouble making friends, so I found comfort in violence (for some reason), and hurt a lot of people, but as I grow older I can finally see the damage I've done, to the person I care, to my family, even to the people that is no longer with us, so through out my life I've been wanting to kill myself for this burning self-hatred, but if I do that I would hurt the person that cares about me even more, so I sealed myself away from the rest of the world, but this movie helps me realize there is a chance for redemption, even for the worst scum like me
so I will rate this movie 10/10 absolutely must watch, this movie changed my life in some degree
This movie has a special place in my heart since I was going through something heartbreaking the year I got through it but because I related to it and I think watching it was one of the healthiest choices I could’ve made
This movie hits HARD. The emotions, relationships, art, music.... it's a masterpiece as you said.
One of my favorite animated movies of all time. Bawled my eyes out the first time i watched this ❤

Oh wow the VA kinda sounded similar.......she did an excellent job 😭
I like this anime film, I have rewatched it many times... because it really reflects me, when I was little, I was a naughty child. I liked bullying, however, over time... starting from middle school,The situation turned around for me, until high school, I started being bullied... after graduating, I was still traumatized by that... I had problems with my personality, which became introverted, insecure,And overthinking with the people around me. And now I'm still trying to be free from all that and return to being a good and freer person. I highly recommend this anime,Many lessons about life❤

19:06 "Nobody is here [at the movie theater], what is it, The Marvels?"
*sobbing*
This is my favorite movie. Before I started HRT it was the first thing to make me cry in a long time.

And in ending, Ishida and nishimiya living together
I recommend Your Name if you didn't watch it yet. And if you want to get real depressed watch Grave of the Fireflies. It's the saddest thing you can get
