and thats not the craziest part of the anime. the show is about people who can turn into swords (heck 2 sisters can turn into handguns) and are wielded by other people to hunt and kill basically bad people and witches. then when they do...the weapon (in human form) must....eat the soul (hence the name)
all i'll correct is just 2 nitpicky details
first is that they can be any weapons not just swords or handguns (remember theres also a guy thats a gillotine)
and second they dont have to be in their full human form to eat the soul they can just "pop their heads out" from the weapon and eat it

They're not limited to swords, there's all kind of weapons, for exemple shinigami wanted to pair Kid up with a girl from a noble family (whose weapon form was a freaking minigun) but he refused because of his obsession for symetrical things.Also one of the student has twins weapons that turn into elemental gauntlet (one with fire element and the other is lightning) and some weapon can even turn into things like smokescreen,guillotine or even chainsaw.
Fun facts:
1) crona’s gender is ambiguous. The anime says "he" while the manga uses gender neutral pronouns
2) the stories of the soul eater manga and anime are different. With corona's arc being the splitting point
3) that part where vemon randomly sings "we are the ones hiding under your bed, teeth growing sharp, and eyes glowing red" is at double layered reference to a very popular soul eater AMV using the song "Halloween" from nightmare before Christmas

Anime and Manga are very different.
Venom's little rhyming bit was lifted right from the first song of "The Nightmare Before Christmas."
It's also a callback to Carnage singing his twisted version of "it's raining, it's pouring" in his fight against Lucy.
Crona is one of my favorite characters. Kid had the rough end if life and the stuff their mother did to him…words can’t even describe it but she did met her end in the manga from him. But it was when she had finally driven them mad and even than Medusa did admitted she loved her child, but given she expected it, that love was twisted. Crona while possibly clinically insane, but he is more or less someone who would prefer not to hurt others unless cohorsed until pushed off the deep by killing Medusa. Even than they only sealed off the original Kishin cause for Maka. Crona could care less for the world, but did so as Maka was literally the first person to show them kindness.
They also left out a few details in the battle. For one Ragnorak was driven more and more insane as Crona gained more power. Eventually becoming a mindless extension of Crona’s blood before his soul was absorbed completely once they became a Kishin.
Secondly Crona ‘s thorns he create are poisonous, but only to the soul. It isn’t much but it disrupts one soul wavelength. Rendering a meister to be unable to sync up to their weapon and vice versa for a time, leaving them an open target. Such a thing could disrupt Venom’s connection to Eddie.
Thirdly Crona’s Mad Blood is an enhanced version of Black Blood that if the opponent is fully affected, their body is dissolved along with all physical matter in the Mad Blood before forming an indestructible sphere. Trapping the conscious in their and driving them mad for an eternity. Crona did this to an entire city…
Finally the madness of boobs Crona unleashed with his sealing was not born out of pervertedness, but rather innocence if you can believe it. Out of a desire to experience a true motherly embrace which he did not receive.
Yeah I know a lot about Crona, but what they covered was in the manga. Soul Eater like Full Metal Alchemist had a similar split to them. For the similar reason for the 2003 anime and Brotherhood anime of FullMetal Alchemist, anime over took the manga. Still I suggest you give it a watch sometime.

@@theduckgoesmoo yeah don't underestimate Knull he was a big treat in the Marvel universe for a good reason he was able to take a lot of the big hitters with out much of a scratch like the following:
Agent AntiVenom: consider to be a symbiont that counters other symbionts by nature but doesn't do nothing to Knull
Sentry: basically the Superman equivalent of the Marvel universe
Ironman: and that includes even his strongest armor that being the celestial iron suit
Celestials: basically a race of aliens that can warp reality
His plan was to bring the entire universe back to the darkness of the void since he existed before anything, to do sow he use the symbionts to take control over everything that includes a lot of the heroes he mange to defeat witch include the Fantastic Four, the X-men, the Avengers and sow on yeah it took the combine power of the Silver Surfer power of all cosmic and Thors Hammer to bypass Knull armor even then to kill him off for sure Venom toss him directy to the sun.
If they ever consider to do another Death Battle with Venom he would be quite Op since he is know considered to have a lot of feats to prove sow like having acces to the symbiote hive mind witch he can use to cover the moon with or if he would ever die is consciousness would pass to another symbiote.

Crona is potentially the most powerful being in Soul Eater.
To explain the world a little bit. Death Academy is a school that teaches Weapon Meisters and Weapons how to work together and fight against evil to prevent another Kishin from showing up. A weapon is a person that can transform themselves into a weapon, such as a scythe and even guns, and way weirder things. A Meister is someone who wields those weapons. The teams of weapon and meister go out and fight people whose souls have become kishin eggs, IE started to go full super evil demon god. They kill these monsters, then the weapon eats the soul that's a kishin egg. After eating 99 kishin egg souls, the weapon must then eat the soul of a witch. After that the weapon will transform, gaining incredible power and becoming a death scythe. They do not actually become a scythe if they weren't one before, it's just the title. If they mess up this part, they have to start over from scratch, so it's pretty difficult to pull off.
That's what happens when you hunt monsters. If you go after normal human souls, eventually you'll become a Kishin, hence all the murder Crona did.
So a criminal kills humans and eats their souls, then their soul starts to go bad, then a weapon and meister team has to kill the now monster and eat their soul before they become a Kishin and wreak havoc.
Fun fact, Death couldn't just kill the original Kishin, he could only stop him by tearing off his skin, draining all his blood and then using his skin as a bag to contain him. That did not KILL him, again, it just stopped him.

Also here's something to know about the Red Vs Blue Death Battle. It was originally gonna be released after Venom vs Crona and release the same day as the premier of the spin-off that shall not be named, but when it got delayed by a month, they decided to delay the episode as well. So instead we got nothing and had to wait an additional 2 weeks for a new episode. So instead the next episode was the Halloween special, Sabrewulf vs Jon Talbain, easily one of my favorite episodes of the season.

@@theduckgoesmoo My guess, he is talking about Soul Eater Not!, a spin off of Soul Eater that is set in the same world and even the same school, but in a different class.
In the world of Soul Eater there are people called "Weapons" who have the innate ability to transform into weapons, although the term is applied loosely as there was a weapon that could turn into a lantern. They are weld by people called "Meisters". Enrollment in Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA) is mandatory for all Weapons and they are divided in two classes. There is the EAT class, who train for combat and hunt down corrupt souls and witches, and the NOT class, which is for non-combatant weapons. The reason why enrollment is mandatory is because without Weapons can transform involuntarily and they don't always fully transform. Naturally this can cause trouble if your leg suddenly turns into a blade while you are walking about.
I'm afraid Soul Eater fans generally don't like Soul Eater Not! as while it was set in the same universe it was vastly different. It even looks different as aside from the school itself the architecture is way off. It was a light hearted yuri romantic comedy rather than action/comedy. While the main characters of Soul Eater would pop in from time to time it started a different cast of characters. It might of done better as it's own story rather than a spin off.
For contract you could react to the three opening. The main Soul Eater had two while Not had one of it's own.
Soul is a very good anime, mixing zany humor and art style with stylized gothic design along with world building, it's truly ONE of a kind.
When I first saw this match up I knew Immediately who the winner was gonna be since I knew both characters. What's Venom's biggest weakness, Sound, what's Crona and Ragnarok best known offence, SCREAMING. I did like that end shot with Ragnarok eating both Eddie and Venom's souls though, a nice touch

What happened was this Red vs Blue episode was meant as promotion for RVB Zero but since that was delayed , the DB episode was delayed too so it sorta switched places with Jon Talbain vs Sabrewolf, a battle of werewolves.

Technically the anime doesn't actually have the ENDING, it just kinda stops.
I think the anime overtook the Manga so they just made their own ending, which stops FAR short of where the manga ends up, similar to what happened with the original run of Fullmetal Alchemist.
The full version of the Manga has yet to be adapted into anime as far as I'm aware. I do have the anime on bluray though, it is good in its own right.

Half of them can turn into a weapon of some sort at will (scythes, guns, shuriken, swords, whatever counts as a weapon). Oh, and the kids who can turn into weapons eat the souls of evil humans. Hence the title, "Soul Eater".

You should watch a fight compilation of Soul Eater, think you'd enjoy it
So, you were clearly very confused about a lot of what Crona had going on, so here's some info to help you get a grasp of world of Soul Eater so you can better understand this battle. In this series, there are people that can shape shift into weapons, and they can also eat souls. They are generally most effective in combat when paired with a compatible Meister, because a Meister can channel the power of their soul, called their soul wavelength, through their weapon partner. The more compatible the two (or more) of them are, the more power the soul wavelength can be amplified, and this process is called Soul Resonance. If the compatibility is really low, the meister won't even be able to lift their weapon. There is an academy dedicated to training these Meister's and their weapon partners to fight evil, and the Headmaster of the school is literally the Grim Reaper, and everyone refers to him as Lord Death. He also has a son called Death the Kid. The reason why the Meister's and their weapons fight evil, beyond just being the right thing to do, is because if the weapon consumes the souls of 99 evil people, and the soul of 1 witch, they will be one much stronger, becoming a Death Scythe, and one of a very few weapons strong enough to be wielded by Death himself. Also, there's a similar transformation that evil people can achieve to Death Scythes: becoming a Kishin. If an evil person were to consume an ABSURD number of souls, they would transform into a being that's powerful enough to threaten the entire world, and that's what a Kishin is. And the reason why Death needs Death Scythes is because Kishin's are so unstoppable, that he is pretty much the only one in the world that can actually fight one in a 1v1, and even then, he wasn't able to kill it the last time he faced one, and had to settle for only sealing it away. There's probably a lot more that I'm not aware of, as I only saw the anime and from my understanding, it heavily deviated from the manga in the same way that the original Full Metal Alchemist show did but these are the most basic things in the series. I also don't know WHY the moon is a massive and terrifying face in the night sky in this series, but I'd be more concerned about the sub, because you can say the same thing about it, only during the day.

it's likely because Kishin Asuras madness wavelength of Insanity affected it in the past. Before being sealed. He liked to be alone, and after he broke Deaths seal, he even settled on the moon.

Red vs Blue was meant to come after this one, but they delayed it to air closer to the release of Red Vs Blue: Zero, so Sabrewulf vs Jon Taliban aired next. This does make it funny because we end up seeing the same Red vs Blue trailer in two different episodes.
Tbh as much as I liked Crona Venom should’ve won with his new stuff from the recent comics but the didn’t use that they used the old venom comics to make it even
I was most familiar with Venom from 90's Spider-Man cartoon and the 2007 live action film when I was younger, watching the stand alone movie more recently, after watching this DB. In those versions Eddy framed Spider-Man and was eventually outed. In those versions it was more his own fault. I hadn't know about the comic version where it seems he made a mistake and bad timing ruined him. Granted that was just the impression I got from their summery. Its another story if he just framed a guy make headlines rather than getting hasty.
In the 90's cartoon I remember his beef with Spider-Man started when he gave an exclusive live broadcast of the unmasking of Spider-Man after villains captured him. This turned out to be Flash Thompson, who had rented a Spider-Man costume to mess with Peter, unaware he is Spider-Man and wouldn't fall for it. This resulted in Eddy getting fired after the truth came out, prompting him to frame Spider-Man when he got the chance, only to get fired again when the truth came out. This was more his own fault than Spider-Man's, since he trusted the villains.
In the 2007 movie he seemed to frame Spider-Man for bank robbery because he destroyed his camera. This version of Eddy was far less sympathetic, especially with him claiming his relationship with Gwen Stacy was more than it was and blaming Peter for pointing out the photos were fake.
I'm afraid I didn't see the other Spider-Man cartoon they used footage from, at least enough of it to get a feel for the character.
That other cartoon was Spectacular Spider-man. It's really good, and Eddie is quite sympathetic in that version, though still just as twisted as always. He's the result of Peter making multiple selfish decisions over the course of the show, and each time he does Eddie gets more pissed at him and at Spiderman depending on which identity he was under at the time. For instance, Peter bailing when Kurt Conners became the Lizard, only to come back as Spider-Man to save him. But he also took pictures for the bugle while he did that, and sold them like he always did. So to Eddie and the others who were there (btw, in this show Eddie is a lab assistant for Conners, instead of a reporter), like he had ran off and taken pictures to win some money instead of helping. This was the first instance, and as Peter kept making decisions like that which made him seem like an *sshole to both keep up his secret identity and get so.ething else he didn't need, every time he dies something irresponsible, Brock was aware of it. And their relationship in the show is like in the ultimate comics, so they have a close relationship, adding a feeling of betrayal on Eddie's end.
Anyways TL;DR: Spectacular Spider-Man is a good show and that version of Venom is the most sympathetic one I've seen, and also more logical in his hatred of Spider-Man than the comics version. Certainly alot more directly personal on both ends, and this more compelling, at least.
The next death battle should be Jon Talbain vs Sabrewulf and then what's after Red vs Blue

yeah~ Soul Eater is one of those wild manga/anime i would actually recommend since you can only go as crazy as that. well~ maybe something like Berserk in terms of crazy creatures and story, but even then Soul Eater is just way more insane with how they use characters and the whole "people as weapons" thing. i mean, even weapons can just be by themselves and do some crazy damage on their own, like this chainsaw dude to a guy who literally turns into a guillotine. the show is nuts and i really need to reread it. it's been too long.
also give Fire Force a look at. same guy who made Soul Eater made it and it's more... grounded~? i want to say. I would say it's less insane but considering the topic of living human combustion and people using fire techniques to put out said fires, it's still pretty wild and that's without digging into the themes and lore/story.
But the anime takes a *hard* left and completely ignores the manga halfway through. personally not a fan because the story in the manga just THAT good

Crona is amazing, but you don't see their full potential until the manga. The boob madness mentioned is the manga author tends to make things unnecessarily ecchi (I don't really know anyone who genuinely likes that detail for non pervy reasons) but was justified as everyone is obsessed with boobs because Crona craved their mother's love.
The wierdest part about ragnarok's mouth is its screech and being able to suck souls up like a vaccum as well as eat like it shows.
My favorite bit tho was how venom n eddie's souls show up as corrupted souls, aka kishin eggs (kishin are super demons) from SE. Crona also has tons of trauma and was brainwashed pretty bad.
Oooh~ next is Sabrewulf vs Jon Talbain. Werewolf duel from fighting games! one a cult classic and one an underrated gem. can't wait for the reaction.

One thing that bothered me is why did they never use Venom's feats from Absolute Carnage, like killing Dark Carnage and that stuff. Didn't he do all that with the Venom Symbiote? I thought Venom would win due to that stuff
To be fair they used a LOT of venom's off-shoots and reboot powers already skewing the battle in venoms favour while Chrona only has one storyline.
This is one of those episodes where the outcome.. doesn't age well.. A few months after this came out, Venom got a serious buff, like, to the point where Venom can obliterate Crona by flicking his finger a little too hard. If they saved this one for the next season, the outcome would have been drastically different.
Also fun fact, Maka (the chick you compared to Ruby) was actually an inspiration of Monty's when making Ruby. Also prior to his passing, Monty requested that Death Battle does Ruby vs Maka, they have confirmed they will do this, but only after RWBY is finished, since Ruby at the moment doesn't stand a chance. As to weather or not Maka will still win by the time RWBY is finished, we just have to wait and see just how powerful Ruby ends up becoming by then.
Ruby still won't stand a chance. She's gotten more skilled clearly, but hasn't gotten a massive power boost. Maiden powers seem like the best bet for that.
Knowing how Comics usually are, the Venom "buff" most likely wont stick around for too long because comics, especially DC and Marvel always like to return to some form of status quo. Unless they actually commit and make the current Venom the new status quo, i give it a maximum of two or three years or so before this buff is effectivley reversed.
Ragnorak has a brain, he's basically human, only a corrupted Weapon. And yes, the moon and sun have faces and they DO laugh in Soul Eater.
In my opinion, this was one of the easier battles to guess the result upfront, like you said sonic attacks being a rather obvious match. It was basically up to Venom being more well known of overrule that.

The main thing about Soul Eater is that there are two kinds of people. Those that can Transform into weapons, and those who can use said weapons! Also the creator of the series has noted that you never see people of African origin in anime, so he makes it a personal point to always add people of African decent in his works!
here's a fun fact about Venom, speaking of Kiev. in Russia, there is no russian word for Venom, so they decided to give him a new name: "Black Death". :)

Depends on the anime. He's kind of a normie, so the weirdest he's probably seen is what he's gotten from DBZA and Helsing Ultimate. Neither of those have anything quite as bizarre as a sentient screaming sword that can become a dude that enjoys pummeling it's wielder.

@@theduckgoesmoo True, but Konosuba's wackiness comes more from the characters just being weirdos in terms of personality rather than something that's just weird/bizarre even on a conceptual level. Shows like Soul Eater, One Piece, and Fairy Tail do both.

While there's a Soul Eater Anime it doesn't follow the original Manga. Similar to Fullmetal Alchemist and Brotherhood.
Unfortunately there's no Soul Eater Brotherhood just the Manga.
