soul eater's art style is def very stylized! the OPs are quite smooth too, some older anime really have smooth animation huh, this anime was aired from 2008-2009
if you do watch it you’ll be able to see when it goes anime original but its still great to the end but i say read the manga after if you want to get the full experience

I’m curious to see if it’s possible for you guys to make videos about them. As it’s apparently rather hard to find good quality copies of those openings online.

Soul Eater is one of those series that while subscribing to "shonen tropes" is also 100% original. Hard to describe. But it's also a victim of "anime needs to have an ending when manga is still ongoing". Really hope for "Brotherhood" release of it. Also if you dig the art style there is a new anime adaptation of a manga by this author "Fire Force" PS. If you havent done it yet openings + endings of Overlord as season 4 has been confirmed and that series reactions always do numbers for a niche series ;) Also Bangers galore.
The funniest thing that no one has mentioned and that you wouldn't get from the openings is that Soul Eater canonically takes place in Nevada. Like the academy they go to in Death City (The city they live in) is in the Nevada desert. The show is called Soul Eater but the main character is Maka Albarn (the girl with the pigtails). Her weapon the sythe, is funnily enough named Soul Eater. Death the Kid is the son of Lord Death (The goofy guy with the skull mask in the first opening). His weapons are the sisters Liz and Patty who turn into guns. The blue haired boy is Named Black Star and he's kind of an assassin. His weapon is Tsubaki (the girl with the black hair always next to him) who can turn into different weapons. They go to a school called the DWMA (Death Weapon Mister Academy) and they as misters (the people who wield the weapons) are basically tasked with Making their weapons into Death Sythes (the process is explained in the first episode). Maka's father, Spirit Albarn (The guy with red hair that had multiple sythes come out of him in the second opening), is a Death Sythe. Their are multiple of them and They are Lord Death's weapons. The show is absolutely hilarious but it gets really dark/serious reality fast. Like seriously, Thor's Hammer is literally in love with Dr. Frankenstein and that's not even the weirdest thing. It's an amazing show honestly.

I'm not normally into AMVs but the Soul Eater AMV is actually SO damn good, it's a classic and has been a TH-cam classic for YEARS (although it's probably been reuploaded more than a few times).
Actualy those are corrupted beings not souls, the story revolve around the seven kids that are shown the most (principaly the scythe "Soul Eater Evans" and his meister "Maka Albarn"). they study in a school who's headmaster is the god of death (the guy with the cartoon skull mask) they're two kind of studients the meister who have special soul giving them special powers and weapons who can each turn into a weapon form (they need a meister to bring out their full power) and the goal of the meisters is to turn their weapon into death scythe (which aren't really scythes but are the upgraded version of a weapon can be used by death ) to do that the weapon must absorb the soul of 99 corrupted beings and 1 witch(consecutivly and in that order because if they make even 1 mistake they have to start over from the beguining).So the story is basecally the adventure of the MCs while they try to collect the souls.
Fuck yeah! Soul Eater ending 4 is the BEST! I had the same reaction when I saw it! It blew my fucking mind! The dark art direction, the amazing OST! It got me pumped and excited for the final arc! Ending 4 made it look like a lot of shit was going down in the final battle. But sadly.....NOTHING like that happens in the anime. Yeah, things happen, but NOT as epic as ending 4 made it out to be. I won't spoil it here, but luckily in the Manga, it's pretty similar!
My favorites are OP1 and ED3. But over all, Soul Eater is a really good anime! I watched it a long time ago, but I really loved Death the Kid and Maka the most. If you guys ever watch the series, I say stick with the Japanese dub as I found Death's voice actor did a lot better job, and Black Star is faaaar less annoyingly grating on the ears compared to the English dub.
