    4:43 is the same type of screws I’ve replaced most of my screws with. Especially any long ones that go through a lot of plastic. The name of that screw is called a socket cap or socket head screw.

      @ragercrepair9301  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're called socket head screws that's you're replacing it with. The originals are button heads.

      Actually it was the motor. The wires melted and smoked the motor. There sending me a new one. Glad I figured it out before I took it all apart lol

      So I first bought a JLB Cheetah crashed it into a mailbox post and blew it to smithereens so I have all the electronics. Put the esc and motor in running on 3s and clocked in at 49mph. I think I'll keep it in!

    My 30T opinion gear arrived but it's too big where the motor can't slide away from Spur gear anymore for more space so I have a 22T pinion gear coming next week. I'm addicted to this truck. I added lights to front & back and four 5v fans running on 12v blowing at motor to keep it super cool. I'm too lazy to edit my videos but one day I will.

    Thanks for your video. I REALLY wish I would have seen this before I started working on my Shredder. I purchased one in "good used shape" online, well it was definitely used good!! I had to replace all 4 bearings in front, replace knuckles with aluminum, steering servo saver was trash, steering linkages were bent.......I'm unsure if I commented on any of your other Shredder videos as I have commented on a few getting opinions of what weight diff oil to put in front/rear and center diffs? I already have a center diff that has metal spur and I think the case is metal, I will have to double check. RC has been on hold for a year now due to some health issues but I'm slowly getting back into it. Once I realized the Shredder was so worn I didn't drive it. All of above worn and it has Pro-Line Masher tires but they ballooned dangerously but I know the front diff (as I took apart), it looked as if it had just a small amount of blue grease on it, very small amount so I am hoping with correct weight oils in diffs that the ballooning will be reduced? If not, I guess I will have to buy new tires/wheels and probably belted ones. I REALLY wished I would have bought a new one instead of trading a bunch of RC boats for it. I am not rough on them but still try to have fun. If you have any tips, please let me know, especially about diff lube. Thanks in advance

    • @ragercrepair9301
      @ragercrepair9301  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So if you're having tire balloon issues, it's due to the power bleed off from lack of correct lube in the center diff. You need some 500k diff lube in the center diff and an extra shim or 2 on the gears to make it work. 15k for the front and rear or something close to it is just fine.

    • @dgmenace73
      @dgmenace73 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ragercrepair9301 ok. I understand now. That after I get the diffs right with very thick lube in center diff and thick oil in f/r diffs, it should make my ballooning issue better. I would guess that those ProLine Masher tires are better than stock ones. Hopefully I will get it right. I will have to find your video on putting shims in diffs. Thanks again

    In my opinion drills equal stripped screws.

    • @ragercrepair9301
      @ragercrepair9301  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use the clutch on the lowest setting and rarely strip screws. Then tighten them the rest of the way by hand.

    Ty. Another question what pinion would you recommend/teeth? Would 46T spur gear work with 8S/2028 motor set up as well? Looking for speed. Less teeth more top end?

    • @ragercrepair9301
      @ragercrepair9301  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do that if your esc can handle the Amp load. But remember Temps are where you'll find your max. Don't go over 160 to 180 degrees on either the motor or the esc. That's where your max will be. And you'll need to bulletproof the diffs to run that rpm.

    Hello Mr. Rage. I’m about to get my 1st electric big boy/girl shredder. I was think of of doing mamaba 8s with 2028 castle. I know I also need my gears right with correct oil. My question is can I get it to 70mph?

    • @ragercrepair9301
      @ragercrepair9301  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was hitting 61 and blowing the tires up so yes I think it's definitely possible. Just gotta get the gearing correct as you mentioned.

      @@ragercrepair9301 spent the last two days in Fusion360 working on a top diff gearbox bulkhead for the Shredder. Mine melted after 10+ minute of full throttle through the snow and the pinion tore up through the top of it both bearings were destroyed and pieces of the pinion and plastic made mess. I got two new bearings installed and cleaned up the pinion a bit with a file. Took me many many hours to get the printed part right. I have a version that I have on now that I ripped hard through the snow and ice until the low voltage cutoff kicked in. Will give it some more thrashing and let you know if it holds up. I ended up using a resin printed part since it has an insane heat tolerance compared to printed filaments.

    I recently changed out all three diffs on my Shredder with new stock replacements. What a job that was since I didn't use a drill, lol. Now, one of them is making a screeching noise and I'm dreading going back in there. Is there any quick and easy method to determine which diff needs attention??? Thanks bro, awesome video!!!

    • @ragercrepair9301
      @ragercrepair9301  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hold the front and rear off the ground on pavement or concrete and pull the throttle. Whatever side is on the ground when it makes noise is the problem. If it does it now matter which side is on the ground it's the center diff

      I order the steel spur gear but haven't been able to replace it yet due to im a truck driver It started making that noise the other day I was driving it in parking lot of truckstop and then it started that popping noise so I stop it immediately so as to not cause further damage to it. I looked it over but can't find where the sound is coming from

    • @ragercrepair9301

      There shouod be a video in on my channel for diagnosing diff noises..

    • @ragercrepair9301
      @ragercrepair9301  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OK so pick up the rear tires and hit the throttle with the fronts on the ground. Repeat that with the rear on the ground. If it makes noise with either end on the ground the side with traction is the diff with the issue. If it makes noise with both front or rear on the ground it's a center diff.

    What do you like for gear lube? Something like 30k weight diff lube or a lithium grease?

    • @ragercrepair9301
      @ragercrepair9301  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is gonna sound crazy but I use liyuim grease mixed with Lucas iil stabilizer. Keeps it thinner and leads it flow like oil when it gets warm. Works just like an actual vehicle that way. But it is messy and will leak out more quickly if you don't have quality sealed bearings.
