I'm impressed that Penn and Teller are even up on the new tech.
they don't need to be, it's common sense. they don't need to know the code and how the gadget works, they only need to know what part it plays in the trick, which they did.
for example this trick can be done in many different ways. i didn't fully understand his code, but i could do this by using RFID chips in cards. they're super tiny and thin, you can't detect them by visually inspecting cards and they require no battery as they're powered wirelessly by the reading device.
it's like those old antennas and stickers on phones that used to blink during data transfers (calls and sms). they require no battery.
with RFID you can track all cards, no sleight of hand required
Wonderful routine! Normally the use of a phone or tablet feels unnatural or non-magical, but you incorporated into your act in such a perfect way. I really enjoyed this act!
I know the comment section always talk about Spanish magicians being but he was actually pretty good for a 14 year old

Very original and entertaining, and I love the bravery of having Penn and Teller sit up close. Very nice :)
I think I have a clue how he did it. He made the card float when they weren't looking, and then when they did, it was already well above their heads. Very impressive, considering the battery life on card-floating drones is really short (we're talking gigajoules per second). You have to be extremely efficient and finish the trick before the card comes crashing down on their heads.

i'm thinking programming did bigger part of the magic. they caught you, cuz they knew the other older methods and that left them with obvious.
but i'd like to note that any advanced technology is indistinguishable from real magic, because they're the same exact thing.
