I saw JJ at a club in Boston, he played for almost 3 hours. Then he stayed there and talked to everyone that wanted to talk to him, he was so nice. Rest In Peace JJ, you made a difference

Sounds like a contractual obligation that never shoulda been released due to sound quality. I remain confused as to why more young bands and artists haven't recorded her material. Bonnie Raitt, especially, has issued some albums with weak material and I can think of a dozen songs Christine has written and cut with The Code and with Cale under various names that coulda connected. Jazz singers especially should check out her songwriting on these albums for fresh sounding material that has that intimate quality associated with true artists like Cale... J.J. told them that he had his band and their instruments and they wouldn't make any mistakes.. They wouldn't allow J.J. to play..He told them that he was going home..to hell with National Television Exposure.. His song would have done better, in the charts,and he would have gotten the exposure but he wouldn't have anything to do with Lip Sync..
I DID get to see JJ Cale live! It was in a small, literally underground club in the Ballard section of Seattle, that I lived truly just around the corner from! It was just JJ, his guitar, and his rather young son plying occasional percussion for his dad! I never saw or heard anyone who could make a solo guitar jump and groove the way JJ Cale did!

So proud to be from Tulsa, Oklahoma and have seen many a concert at the Cain’s Ballroom. JJ Cale and Leon were our pride for sure. ❤
