    The podiatrist I went to was totally useless, giving me no information on my condition, ball of the foot pain. He gave me a cortisone shot and sent me on my way. About a week later I developed a hammer toe (second toe) and went back to him. Again, no information just recommended a shoe cushion insert for my shoe. THIS VIDEO, explains my plantar plate & hammer toe issue. BOTTOM LINE: SEE GOOD DOCTOR!

      Sorry to hear. Your podiatrist is an absolute fool. I've seen four of them in my time. Three of them were absolute garbage, bottom dwelling excuses for doctors. One is a saint and a miracle worker. It's really difficult to find a good one. Most of their treatments are garbage bin diagnoses you can find on TH-cam. Orthotics will cause problems elsewhere in the body. Steroids are contraindicated because they can cause a tendon rupture or arthritis. Their standard of care is objectively malpractice. Good podiatry care is the exception to the rule.

    I had a freak accident that caused me to very obviously dislocate my second MTP joint. I was able to put it back into place and it eventually healed, but now my second toe sticks up exactly like in the image you show! I tape my toe down and have virtually no pain in my foot except for where my toe sticks up and rubs against my show if it's not taped down and stretching does seem to help.

    I think I have this (no bunion though) but there are also symptoms of neuroma just not as acute. The problem is my foot spasms and sometimes has severe cramps at night and it's ruining my sleep. I do okay during the day but there's something about lying down that destabilizes my foot and makes everything worse.

    The first specialist put me in a medical boot after seeing my xray - yep - capsulitis. Tylenol for pain/inflammation. Then she moved back to Atlanta :(
    2nd specialist fixed my BAD bunion, yet after recovering, I still had the "ball of foot" pain and hammer toe.
    Currently am on the 3rd specialist who first did 3 injections (needle), then oral, then a medical boot... NO RELIEF... I'm supposed to start physical therapy, yet am skeptical.
    Someone suggested the Mayo clinic - I'm thinking I'm so tired of having a BANDAID, I want it fixed because my quality of life is NOT cool right now.
    THANKS for the video - it's awesome!

    I have this issue right now and have had it for about 4 months. I am having to put a silicone type spacer between my big toe and 2nd toe and then tape them together when I want to play tennis. Often times I get a terrible burning sensation in the knuckle of the 2nd toe joint. Much like when you crack your knuckles in your hand but when it "snaps" like a knuckle crack does, that is when that nasty burning sensation occurs. I went to a podiatrist and he had xrays done and they didn't show anything really out of the norm. he suggested CT Scan to see if there was maybe a small fracture. Either way, I am coming out of this no further ahead.

Hammer toe in both feet big finger . I am not able make it straight and while walking more pressure on the big toe and it hurts is there any way i can treat that and how much time it might take to be normal.

    I am 40 and just started walking an extra amount in the mornings lately... the other day, I thought I felt a blister developing and I was convinced this morning on my walk when I felt a "tearing/burning" sensation right in between or on the 2nd or 3rd joint of my foot. Lo and behold my surprise in the shower when not only is there no blister, but the skin on my foot is actually very soft and showing no signs of wear or tear. Since the walking started, I noticed that my gait and posture is not natural and becomes unbalanced once I start to get tired so thinking this and also a bad shoe is the cause? Will keep a close eye and try some other things, but thank you for this video!

    I have an issue that has developed into a small callus, about the size of a nickel.. originally I did some homework on it and was convinced it was Morton's neuroma?!? Now the fact there is a callous, I don't know but it hurts walking unless I have a shoe on?? I still don't know what I have as it seems between 2nd and 3rd toe? Only on one foot?... it's getting worse. As I said there is even a callous now and rubbing it or walking is getting very painful. @@studiowizard6286 I did, it turned out to be intermetatarsal bursitis and not a neuroma. It’s basically very similar symptoms and the same exact treatment for it. The anti-inflammatory meds I was on did the trick for me, and wearing toe separators with crocs helped a lot. Within 3 months I was ok. Unfortunately my pain came back about 3 months ago and it’s now scar tissue so I’m seeing my doctor again.

      That's exactly like what I have. Doc swears it's a neuroma but my 2nd toe is killing me and the ball of my foot is tender. I can't take NSAIDS so I'm miserable.

    • @marym6613
      @marym6613 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marlynnek6449 I’m so sorry you’re going through this! Try adding turmeric to your diet, whether it be supplements or the root itself. Eat dark greens as well, they help with inflammatory issues. I also started to use my toe separators in the beginning of the injury. It really does help to separate the inflamed bursa and reduce pain. I found out my tibial sesamoid bone has fractured and I have arthritis in the ball of my foot due to the scar tissue. It gets better when I wear crocs. I wore them for 5 months and now I can wear my sneakers (vans) for about 3 hours at a time. Slowly but surely it gets better. I found a podiatrist that uses heat laser therapy on my foot. I’ve researched and it’s a placebo for some, but for me it actually helped. It broke down some of the scar tissue and distracted me from my pain. I’m getting a final MRI next week to see if it healed I wish you the best!!

    Okay, so I have this problem that I felt suddenly last night. The second joint from the tip of my second toe, like not the one under the nail, but the one right next to it suddenly stated hurting. I can’t even touch it or bend it. I can touch the sides of it, I can touch the base of it, but can’t touch the upper side of it or can’t even bend it. I don’t know why this sudden pain. The shoe hurts now as it touches the toe. Can you please please tell me what possibly the reason is? It didn’t hit anything and I didn’t walk much yesterday either, but it hurts like anything.
