This has got to be THE most comprehensive video I’ve seen on this condition. I’ve had it for years and the things you mention answered a lot of my questions. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for the explanation. It really helped me figure out what I have been dealing with. I got an arch-supporting orthotic and that has taken the pressure off my toes. Taking the orthotic out and walking in the same shoes WITHOUT the orthotic, caused immediate pain in the arch of my foot. That's how I knew my arches had fallen. Thanks doc for confirming everything. You are the best!!
This is the best video I've seen about Morton Neuromas. I've had this condition in both feet for many years, but it recently got much worse when I wore soft-bottom sports sandals when I took my dogs outside for walks on uneven ground. For the past two years, it has felt like a stone is lodged in my foot with a balloon feeling around it. If I'm up on my feet a lot, I have horrible foot cramps and muscle spasms. I'm at the point of getting surgery for it.
My mother suffered a lot from this and would often have to stop, sit down and adjust her toes so she could continue to walk. I wish this video had been available for her to watch and understand. Sigh!! Thank you!!
I have had the symptoms for over 20 years. I just had the surgery on Friday. My foot is already better and less painful even with the incision and prior to surgeries so I am super ecstatic to not be in pain.
Thank you so much! Definitely the best video and most thorough explanation. I tried to figure out what might have caused it on my right foot between toes 2/3. I have always been careful with my shoes and a year ago, starting job that requires me to be on my feet 10 hours, I started wearing even more spacious and comfy shoes. It didn’t make sense until you pointed out the widening issue as a possible cause. Thank you so much for that. When I mentioned it to my doctor, she was looking at me as if so was talking nonsense. I can’t wait to hear your healing suggestions. Thank you for really caring and sharing your valuable knowledge in understandable, logical explanation.
I had a Morton’s neuroma diagnosed 6 months ago. I now wear my sports shoes as much as possible. Fixed! Nobody told me to do that, I just thought it would be a good idea.
I had a neuroma 3/4 toe I started castor oil compress at night time a couple months ago. It's pretty well gone now. I can walk barefoot with no pain, and I don't feel the lump anymore.
A neuroma will not have a lump. You may feel like there a bump when walking, but only a sensation. And neuroma’s NEVER go away. They, the nerve settles down but the nerve with the scaring will always be there. You can kill the nerve with alcohol injections or surgery. Likely you can aggravate the nerve by squeezing your metatarsals together from the bottom of the foot pad. Usually you’ll feel a not so good pain.
@serrielu8025 Thanks for the information. It feels like I have this problem; originally thought it was a bursitis of some sort. The pain is a bitch..lol, I squeeze mine out and seems to realign and reset the landscape which is all connected to some point
Mine is not diagnosed but it started after knee replacement revision from partial to full knee. Now I am told my knee is loosening in tibia and my 2 toes are much worse. Numb and pain..also was told weak pulse in that foot during arthrogram I just had done. This video makes sense.
I feel foot every day pain that you explained morton’s neuroma , my doctor said it will be better after you take medicine now my foot is very bad i feel sharp pain
I'd get a new doctor.... I've been dealing with chronic pain for 10 years, and just recently, I now have a diagnosis of Mortons neuroma. It is under my 2nd toe. I made the Dr send me for an MRI with focus on my second toe. I think sometimes, we have to be our own medical advocate and researchers...... why was it missed for so long? Because the Dr felt it was too rare and did surgery on the 3rd and 4th toes that didn't stop my pain.
This is an excellent explanation. Thank you. I have had an intermittent Mortons neuroma for a couple years now and have learned how to function without drugs and surgery. You might want to try self massage. Firstly: I only experience some of the symptoms you list; Pain between 3 and 4 metatarsil, numbness and it is much worse when barefoot. Also many days I have no pain at all. Secondly: I am an active hiker often walking 10-12 miles in a day. If on a hike and it acts up, I stop and do a 2 or 3 minute message and a good poking between the 3/4 metatarsil acts like a release. It hurts when you hit the right spot but after I can put on my boots and I am good for another few miles.
@@aarondyke8116 hi there, I am using Salomon X Ultra boots. I just completed the GR20 180 km. I wore them 13 days straight. A couple times I had to stop and do the release mentioned above. Happy Trails
I experience something so similar... the intermittent nature of the pain is so mysterious. It comes at odd times, and sometimes is completely absent. Other times, it is so intense I can't walk. By massaging I can make it go away for awhile (sometimes), but then it comes back. If I play a a racket sport, I don't notice any pain. But when I set out on a walk, I never know if I will be fine, or limping back home with pain. I just can't make any sense out of it.
@juliegathman2923 You may want to check your diet. Mine actually seems to act or “flare” up when I’ve had an excess of sugar (carbs) or gluten. Sometimes red meat or alcohol can start it..
@leighsmith5520 Great explanation I’m in the same boat with the self massage for this pain there’s nothing like it! Also ankle roll for cuboid, if you happen to have that as well like I do. Sometimes I feel like they’re connected as one episode may set off the other. Keep it up sir!!💪👍🔥
I was in a serious car accident and the bones in my feet shattered. Post many surgeries I still was crying (floor nurse) at the end of each shift from pain. Two years of my surgeon saying your fine I took it upon myself to get a second opinion. In 5 minutes he solved my issue. I had to watch my surgery to see what was causing me so much pain. I’ve never had issues since.
Use one of those donut shaped foam bunion pads - stick it on with the hole over the point of pain. A tiny bit of pressure change is all it takes to take the pressure off the nerve (for me, anyway) and the pain was gone within a day. My foot doesn't like hard wood floors in stocking feet but otherwise it's fine (tile floor, no problem, very weird). You're welcome. (I spent hundreds on shoes before figuring out this trick on my own)
I have tried everything I see the sun! And yes I have 160 pairs of shoes, nothing ever worked for long. Alcohol killer the pain for awhile. Then when I was 25 I had my first child c section and after I went home from hospital it occured to me that the pain meds the DR gave me after my c section stopped my horrible foot pain! I could act😊yallngo shopping and do housework and even play at the park with my kids if I took a narcotic pain pill,!

Also. I had a foot Dr cut the callous out of my foot that my body made to protect that nerve. It was a huge tornado fun rl shaped core of hard skin in my foot that caused so much pain!
Thank you doctor for explaining. The doctors could not pin point what caused it. They assumed diabetice could be a cause but I am not diabetic. They did a series of blood tests. More to be done. Your description of the condition matches with mine. Thanks again.
I appreciate your comment. I was just referred to a podiatrist because of the pain in my foot that is located in the area where most videos are showing the pain would be. However, I never felt the clicking sensation or the discomfort of stepping on a marble or bunching. It’s a pain that is mostly when I have closed shoes, despite being a shoe with a large toe box. The pain is severe enough that I have to remove the shoe for any relief, but it doesn’t go away quickly anymore and it sometimes lingers. It seems to have started at the same time I began getting calluses on the ball of my foot (hopefully that is the correct word for that particular part of the foot) but I haven’t had calluses before or this pain. It’s only started when I fractured my ankle. Searching for any cause in the same area has only shown that this is the cause. I struggle with believing that due to the only similarity being the location of the pain. So I’m glad to see that it could be something else. It was a bit concerning that I wasn’t having the other indicators, I was starting to question whether I had more damage that was cause me to not have feeling in the area, like some sort of other type of nerve damage
It won’t heal it. It’s just helped for now. The injection needs to be done under an ultrasound scan to pinpoint the correct spot. Injecting blind most likely will miss the spot.
I wish I could come see you in real life. I self diagnosed Morton's neuroma, saw one podiatrist who injected with lidocaine, saw a second one who put in the met pads, then a third one who has some experience with Morton's neuroma. I have done everything I've been told, but my foot still hurts because I can't seem to get the met pad in the right place. I feel like I'm wasting everyone's time, but I am also frustrated with not being able to walk without pain. I stay healthy and happy when I walk.
Hi Mary, I wish you could come to visit my practice as well! If you haven't already, I recommend checking out my 2nd video on MN here: th-cam.com/video/I3TTAhZhBA4/w-d-xo.html I have a few more remedies that you may find helpful!
ive had from what i can tell a very mild version of this for 12 years. every now and again its like a jolt between the 3rd and 4rth that makes me flinch but not the level of pain i see people describe online
Had trouble walking for years. I have many neuroma not only between the toes but under my foot. The pain is sharp like an electric shock. I bought some 5 finger vibram shoes and put heavy padding in but the problem is with padding it causes the top of the shoe to dig into top of foot. Been trying different paddings to prevent this. I cannot walk a lot but since I got the five finger shoes can go shopping. Any form of shoe unless five fingers is out of the question. Misery pain running down the toes and under the foot. This is serious pain. Had to modify to cope with it. Long walks are out of the question. About 15 years ago I had some steroid injections, don't recommend, made it worse. The pain was off the scale for 6 months. I went to see a professional to do cryotherapy costing around 4K. Did some research before considering to my shock horror one guy was so crippled after cryotherapy he regretted it. Not available on NHS. What does this mean. You have to learn to live with it using high quality memory foam and less walking.
The stabbing sharp pain, the inability to do anything I enjoy. The sudden stabbing biting pains that wake me up at night. It's been horrible my whole life.
I use medical tape to push my last two toes together to separate it from middle toe. It helps to relieve the pain for me. I also sometimes tape the second and third toes together too.
Hi can you explain to us how the procedure went and how your foot and the nerve is doing that would be really helpful ! I'm afraid of getting the surgery and having my foot have no feeling whatsoever.
@@b-th8xg Hi, I was just reading the comments and came across yours so thought would share my own experience. I had neuroma surgery 5 weeks ago after suffering for almost 4 years and I can say getting the surgery was the best decision ever. During these 4 years I had watched hundreds if not thousands of videos here on TH-cam, read numerous articles, got 3 cortisone shots, used all sorts of orthotics and nothing helped. Unfortunately, most videos online advise against surgery and pretend that conservative methods provide instant relief. This only made me lose valuable time and money, considering how much I spent on supplements, cortisone treatments, arch supports, toe spacers etc. Before my surgery I did come across horror stories online, about how their surgery went wrong, they suffered for months after the operation. I was almost about to change my mind, but went ahead and got the surgery. Post operation, I was only immobile for a day or so, but in about 2 weeks I was able to return to my normal activities and wear normal shoes. I'm almost completely healed after just 5 weeks. Now, I am not saying surgery is for everyone and things might always go wrong for some people but just wanted to provide some insight and maybe relief because I do know this is a very painful condition, physically and mentally even. Hope this helps you or anyone reading this. I only regret all that time I lost hoping that conservative treatments would help and the frustration and disappoinment I felt each time those methods didn't work. Whereas I could just have gotten the surgery long ago and be painfree like I am now after only a few weeks. All the best to fellow neuroma sufferers.

What if it is caused by your back? Around six minutes in you talk about the nerves that travel from the low back to the foot and how you have to make sure that isn't the cause. With an EMG/NCV. Do you have a video about this and if not can you explain or point me in the right direction?
I have the same issue, EMG/NCV... I had my back surgery about 8 years ago but it didn't help at all....actually it got worse now..... my case, it disturb me at night & I have a tough time sleeping.. I understand what you are going through. 😞
Good insights, thanks for the video! I can feel this little neuroma in my left foot at the 3rd and 4th toes. Not serious yet but I know working with foot exercises to increase toe mobility and strengthen insintric foot muscles will help.
Wonderful explanation I knew I was not receiving the Exact reason and Thank you very much!!! I have suffered with a very painful Morton’s Neuroma since 2015 I had 2 failed surgery attempts. Now I just had a MRI and I have another one between 1st & 2nd they say. Mine started in 3rd and 4th toe. They say I have a Stump Neuroma Can you Please explain a Morton’s Neuroma Stump??? I am not letting anyone do any surgery on my foot I need to do my research on a stump neuroma. I truly understand everyone’s pain I have everything Dr Kim has said even the Clicking it is a painful condition. However I look forward to trying these great helpful Tips I am sure they will Help A lot.
Hi Dr Kim, thank you so much for your clear explanation of Morton's Neuroma. I have two (2/3 & 3/4) and experimental surgery where the toes are surgically broken and raised off the nerve was not successful for me. I go into hospital tomorrow for traditional surgery where the inflammed part of the nerve(s) is removed. Hopefully, seven years of pain will come to an end after that!.
@@lawbinson Mixed results. Felt better for the first few months but my foot is painful again. Don't know if it's related to neuromas or something else.
My surgeon did say it could be between 3-12 months before we knew for definite if the surgery was successful. So, I guess I need to be patient and see what I feel like after 12 months. Not very optimistic though! 🙁
I had this years ago, and I came close to passing out with the excruciating pain. I had surgery, which was the most painful surgery I have ever had in my life, before or since, but once that pain settled down, the neuroma pain has never troubled me again. I get odd twinges in my other foot, but I wouldn't go through that surgery again. Interesting about the lumbar spine, as I have been in a wheelchair since 2014 due to a problem with my lumbar spine, and listening to this video, I am wondering if that was what was really causing the neuroma all those years earlier.
One of my feet went flat, I was prescribed inserts for both feet/shoes. .... months later I developed Mortons Neuroma ,the arch supports were uncomfortable and took a while to get use to them. . I believe the orthopedic arch supports caused the Neuroma. still have it on both feet years later. thanks for the explanation
I am 69 years old. I have had a callous under each foot ?between 2 and 3), since my late 20s. I used trim them monthly. I now have hip issues, so I rarely do it now. I just can't reach.
I had a ruptured brain aneurysm and a stroke 6 years ago. My left side was affected. My 2nd toe on my left foot bends downward and I always feel like I have a flip flop on between it and my great toe. Could this be what is happening to me?
Thank you so much for your kind words! I am so glad to hear that you found my video helpful. Be sure to subscribe to my channel so that you never miss out on one of my new videos!
Exact thing happened to me. After gaining pregnancy weight and suffering from pelvic/hip problems I started noticing 1 foot felt shorter. Started getting neuroma numbness in that shorter leg. My arch has fallen 😢
Great great doctor thank you! Be careful your podiatrist doesn’t make an orthotic (with a metatarsal pad that you may not need) if your neuroma is not bothering you. ..and doesn’t tell you to get a much wider toe box in your sneaker or shoe. It will spread your toes cause chafing and then form bunions.
Thank you so much for this very thorough and informative video. I have this in BOTH feet. Sigh. At least I’m finally barking up the right tree thanks to you. 💜
I believe I'm struggling with this but it's really my third toe on each foot. Not pain in the ball of my foot. Doctors appt the 31st but until them I'm just miserable. And it's been going on for years! The doctor told me I had athletes foot 😒

I have had cortisone jabs which have not been successful. If I have surgery I know this will make my front foot numb. Will I ever be able to walk again. It has caused metatarsalgia and I cannot walk will it ever get better.
I've been dealing with this between my 2nd & 3rd toes on my right foot. It's been going on for over a year. It started when I injured the foot last spring. I went through 3 rounds of oral steroids, which helped a lot with the pain, but it didn't really fix it.
@ @ I did ask if they have any solution, but if you’re experiencing it, perhaps having space within the show to allow for decompression of the sesmoid bones? Eg a corn pad around them, or removing a portion of the insole? Maybe good support for the foot as it articulates through the gait cycle, or strengthening stabilizing muscles? I’d make sure the shoe isn’t compressing from the sides or above, that it supports the arch, doesn’t allow too much pronation, that the hips are strong (gluteus complex), & perhaps acupuncture could help. I imagine there is research on it somewhere… good luck!
I had Morton neuroma in both feet and operations to cut the nerves out. Since then they say I have bursas. Too much cortisone pumped in there. I’m so muddled about whether it’s bursas or Morton neuroma now. I remember that clicking sensation though.
I developed a Morton’s Neuroma after I broke my foot in 2020 ( Lisfranc injury ) five fractures altogether I was in a cast for eleven weeks. I’ve had injections , got orthotics , but still painful.
OK, whatever. I would wear my compression socks to bed and wake up at some point with this crazy stabbing neuroma pain. The compression of my toes due to the tight socks was the culprit. An easy fix, so far. I got a lighter compression sock and stopped wearing them overnight. Happy happy.
Dr. Kim, can Morton's Neuroma ("MN") be caused by repeated sudden trauma or not? For Example, working in a hazardous environment where heavy weighted (5 to 10 pounds) small objections are prone to fall from heights of 3 to 4 ft, and impact the top/dorsal section of the foot and metatarsals ?
I never even heard of a Neuroma! Have no idea what it is but I started to watch this to find out what it is. But it sort of seems you presume people know what it is. Years ago my arches were very low or almost flat. I was wearing those modern shoes with arch support + a raised heel. You know, athletic type shoes. But it was the shoes! I started to wear "barefoot" type shoes. I actually has to teach myself how to walk again as my walking was so badly messed up from those other shoes! My big toe and the area behind the big toe never touched the ground! 😮 took a year to learn how to keep my feet on the ground properly. And it was hard slow work. Now my feet are strong + I have good arches that support themselves! I walk around year-round in those swim shoes! 😂😂 oh I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome so my feet are very flexible. The flexibility plus arch support does NOT work for me. I also wear Xero shoes too!
I also have EDS and a MN. Plus a bunch of torn ligaments in my foot. I hate wearing shoes and switched to Vibrams Five Fingers a few years ago. Had the NM pain before switching shoes. Last year had L2-S1 fused, next year my sacrum is getting fused due to instability. Torn ligaments are due to my second and third toe dislocating all the time, no trauma, strictly EDS *le sigh*. But I completely understand what you are saying about raised heals in athletic shoes. I’ve found New Balance to be the most comfortable (I live in the north and winters are not favorable with toe shoes). I’m having surgery next week to repair the ligaments on the top and bottom of my foot and he’s removing the NM as it’s causing a huge separation between my 3rd and 4th toe and he’s already going to be in there. I’m glad you were able to get relief by switching shoes. Sending fluffy gentle zebra hugs.
I have MN..shoes hurt my feet..even shoes from specialty stores... only slippers or barefoot gives me relief.. Does anyone else's feet feel like they are on fire and hyper sensitive like mine?
In my case, it could be early onset but I just feel a weird pain between the third and 4th toe, hurts to apply pressure, but doesn’t feel like a marble or socks. It just feels like I’ve been wearing tight shoes but it never goes away.
I'm not sure about this explanation. I developed MN recently and in my case it was certainly a footwear-related issue (specifically cycling shoes that were too tight). It got quite bad (pain and numbness of third and forth toe) until I realized what the problem was and simply changed my shoes to a more roomy set. I am quite sure there is no fundamental problem with my arches; it was simply caused by tight footwear. I know you need a 'clickbaity' video title for TH-cam, but I don't think it is fair to describe the conventional medical understanding of MN as "wrong".
3&4. and 4&5 of both feet. years hs n college track n field. first dx. rt foot 3&4 toes. 35yrs later 50lbs over weight getting in shape at part warehouse job last 3 months. both feet on fire. neuroma back 4 folds. using all tricks orthotics, massages, feet soaks. stretch. ted socks. motrin. ascics running shoes w single stitch size bigger to accommodate arch supports tape n orthotics. not working what to do??
I have all the symptoms of which he talks about here, including the clicking. My pain is in the arch under my toes, right at the bend where my 3 and 4th toes are. But after reading a lot online, no one complains of this: an increase in pain immediately after removing your shoe, worse than when you had the shoe on? This "after" pain lasts about 5 minutes, but wow is it awful! During this time if I try to wiggle or stretch my toes it's excruciating! Any input is appreciated. TY!

Got an infra red light. Praying it helps. Any advice if it does. PS hammer toes can be related to occult tethered cord in the spine. I have major spinal issues. It all runs into each other joint. Thank you very much Dr. Kim. I have been in so much pain and did start taking herbs to help with inflammation and they are helping. I will definitely listen to your' advice. I am currently waiting for a referral to a podiatrist to confirm what I feel is causing my pain but do not want steroid injections or surgery. Thank you for sharing your' knowledge as being in so much pain is depressing.
no strength -> collapse of transverse arch -> issues collapsed arch -> excercise -> healed If your feet are really, really messed up and even with very good PT you can't doo much then surgery/orthotics but it will not treat the root cause.

Hey there I have exactly the same problem, could I ask what boots you use for hiking
This was so informative! I learned more than I thought I would. Thank you!
💡 This makes so much sense to me !! It's too late in my case to prevent, but I appreciate understanding the "Why."
How did he solve your issue?
How was it solved ?

At least you have some advice on treatment. Nothing here about treatment.
Thank you doctor for explaining. The doctors could not pin point what caused it. They assumed diabetice could be a cause but I am not diabetic. They did a series of blood tests. More to be done.
Your description of the condition matches with mine. Thanks again.
Wow so helpful. Ive been looking up this pain in my feet .I always get planter F.
I didnt know what this was called. Thank you... 😊
L5 in the spine is the nerve root for toes 3&4. Nerve impingement in the spine can cause a similar feeling to Morton's Neuroma in the foot.
I had Morton’s Neuroma. I got a cortizone shot between my toes and this shot healed it. 👍🏻🦶🦶🦶🦶
Is there any downside to cortisone shots?
@@juliegathman2923 I did not have any problems. 👍🏻
It won’t heal it. It’s just helped for now. The injection needs to be done under an ultrasound scan to pinpoint the correct spot. Injecting blind most likely will miss the spot.
@@juliegathman2923Yes . I’ve had them in my back and in my foot.

I stay healthy and happy when I walk.

ive had from what i can tell a very mild version of this for 12 years. every now and again its like a jolt between the 3rd and 4rth that makes me flinch but not the level of pain i see people describe online
That’s what I get
A jolt
I don’t feel the marble
Mine is the jolt
I have so much intermediate severe intense pain on my left foot. It’s awful.
Excellent video Dr Kim
1 months ago was surgery for Morton’s Neuromas 3rd and 4th toes right foot. I hope finally don’t more pain

How long did it take the recovery/down time to do normal activities again?
Hi,how's it now?

Hi Dr Kim, thank you so much for your clear explanation of Morton's Neuroma. I have two (2/3 & 3/4) and experimental surgery where the toes are surgically broken and raised off the nerve was not successful for me. How did it go? Thanks

Will it ever go away ?
Is surgery the best way?
Does this happen to people who have flat feet? Or people who have flat feet, and wear flat shoes?
Where do I find your Morton’s Neuroma treatment video ?

Is gout often mistaken for Planter fascitis??
Would you have a reference to lower back issues and morton’s neuroma?
Great great doctor thank you! Be careful your podiatrist doesn’t make an orthotic (with a metatarsal pad that you may not need) if your neuroma is not bothering you. ..and doesn’t tell you to get a much wider toe box in your sneaker or shoe. It will spread your toes cause chafing and then form bunions.
Thank you so much for this very thorough and informative video. I have this in BOTH feet. Sigh. At least I’m finally barking up the right tree thanks to you. 💜

Got mine from deadlifting and lots of standing and possibly wearing boots too small. Or could be one of them and not all.
Is it true that sometimes the walking on a marble feeling is irritation of the sesmoid bones? How do you treat that?
Hi,got any solution?
@@tajos703 have u also experienced the feeling like stepping on a marble?and after trying all this ,irritation or pain due to the neuroma subsided?
I had Morton neuroma in both feet and operations to cut the nerves out. Since then they say I have bursas. Too much cortisone pumped in there. I’m so muddled about whether it’s bursas or Morton neuroma now. I remember that clicking sensation though.
I developed a Morton’s Neuroma after I broke my foot in 2020 ( Lisfranc injury ) five fractures altogether I was in a cast for eleven weeks.
I’ve had injections , got orthotics , but still painful.
Have it in my left foot bad im 32. Does massaging it out help?
Morton’s came on after I broke 5th metatarsal.. but had issues for a long time before that..

OK, whatever. I would wear my compression socks to bed and wake up at some point with this crazy stabbing neuroma pain. The compression of my toes due to the tight socks was the culprit. An easy fix, so far. I got a lighter compression sock and stopped wearing them overnight. Happy happy.
Or cut the feet off the socks so they just compress the legs
I started walking around my house with no shoes on a a day later I had this problem 😢
My feet started hurting during covid when i was locked in the house wearing crocs everyday. It's like my foot structure fell apart
I only get the pain when I wear shoes or ski boats, no pain at all in flip flops or bare feet, any ideas ?
Awesome explanation!
Yes I jump rope or used to
Plus I’m fat
So my middle toes feel like I have a blood blister, when they touch the ground, ouch
In my case, it could be early onset but I just feel a weird pain between the third and 4th toe, hurts to apply pressure, but doesn’t feel like a marble or socks. It just feels like I’ve been wearing tight shoes but it never goes away.
Is a remedy for heel spurs
I wish you worked for the NHS
I have mortons nurima and a metatarsal bursa
I have double mortons neuroma 😢 in same left foot
I'm not sure about this explanation. I developed MN recently and in my case it was certainly a footwear-related issue (specifically cycling shoes that were too tight). It got quite bad (pain and numbness of third and forth toe) until I realized what the problem was and simply changed my shoes to a more roomy set. I am quite sure there is no fundamental problem with my arches; it was simply caused by tight footwear. I know you need a 'clickbaity' video title for TH-cam, but I don't think it is fair to describe the conventional medical understanding of MN as "wrong".

no strength -> collapse of transverse arch -> issues
collapsed arch -> excercise -> healed
If your feet are really, really messed up and even with very good PT you can't doo much then surgery/orthotics but it will not treat the root cause.
Or surgery which would be a permanent solution
