Airin's knife was amazing, truly another skilled worker; however, the fact that you forge welded yours versus cutting it out and your "dual finger guard" was simply something different and knew puts yours over the top IMHO. Regardless, I'd be honored to own either one.
I definitely like your knife design best but I think Airin's knife showcased the pattern slightly more (may just have been the piece of damascus). What an awesome work of art! My vote - considering the function is for a “fighting knife” - goes to you. If I had to be in a knife fight... and I hope it never happens, I think this one would have greater balance and functionality, and would never slip out of the hand. Only slight thing I’d prefer to see on this blade is a different profile on the fuller. Just seems a little narrow in proportion to my eyes. Maybe a slightly shorter length fuller, and with a noticeable chamfer on the fuller edges.
Absolutely agree! The only ball end mill I had was a 1/4”. Funny that Airin did a fuller the same way but he had a 1/2” one. I certainly would have used it if I had it. 👍

love the knife and handle what pattern is it it looks like rain drop
You should make a video on the sheath build
Great looking knife one of my favorites
This build was over a year ago and it's been sold long ago. I've done several sheath videos since then though, check those out. Thanks for watching, Bryce!
@@TyrellKnifeworks I just got into bladesmithing. I think it is a cool hobby and something me and my son can do together. I haven’t started doing anything just a ton of TH-cam videos haha.
@@brycemain1088 that’s exactly how I started, something fun my son and I could do together. 👍
Nice job,I need to learn more and more by your videos .. thanks man …
Thanks for checking it out, Ahmad!
its called subhilt, the knife is beautiful a work of art awesome
Thanks for watching, Henry.
I don't know if you'll see this, you may have learned since, that second guard for finger grip is generally referred to as a sub-hilt. Years of reading Blade Magazine, and Knives Illustrated.
Thanks, Leigh, I’ve since been informed. If you watch my recent Bowie Challenge video, I do another sub-hilt fighter/bowie knife. Thanks for watching.
As always,awesome 👍
Thanks for checking this build out, Randy!
Excelente el canal!!!! y es muy bueno que los vídeos estén subtitulados en español👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Estoy encantado de que te guste el canal. ¡Gracias por ver!
Well that gives a new meaning to a mobil anvil. 😂😂😂
Very nice looking blade.
Haha! I think I finally fixed that crazy anvil. I’ve got sand bags ties around the base now! 👍 Thanks for watching!
ive only just found and subbed to your channel, can i just say you are an amazing maker, and i aspire for my knives to be like yours one day
Thanks, Shaun! Keep watching and we’ll get there together! 👍
Well that’s pretty well unbeatable thanks to you guys for some awesome entertainment 👍look forward to the next tyrell vs alee?
We’re thrilled you liked the builds! Look for more challenges coming! 😜
Beautiful knife! May I ask how you get that mirror finish on the wood of the handle?
The handle was sanded to 1000 and buffed with several different compounds. Then waxed and finally coated with a bit of mineral oil. I didn't count but I'm sure it was many hours! Thanks for watching!
Good morning
That's pretty sweet, I'm partial to the copper
That was a fun build! Airin and I are good friends and this is the challenge that kicked it off. 👍🏻
Beautiful knife!!! Could you tell me what knife vise that you are using I need to replace my homemade one and I really like that.. thx in advance
Are you talking about my knife sanding vise? I made that one. I just picked up 3” and 3 1/2” round pipe and tapped a few holes, added bolts with handles and welded it to a base. 👍
@@TyrellKnifeworks yeah the knife maker vise. I copied red beard ops version but really like the swivel base on yours.. did you do a video on making it? I couldn't find anything. Thx for response
No sorry, I’ve never done a video on it. Maybe in an upcoming Triple-T I’ll take it apart and show everyone. 👍
i lovet!!!!! Great working
Thanks for watching, Claudio!
I like your vídeos
O working yo Predator knife tribute,i finifsh sun.see my videos.thanks
Look amazing I wanna one like this
Thanks for watching, Javier!
Beautiful!
Thanks!
Great looking blade!!! Funny I made a clip point fighter outta that stainless billet I did!😂 I’ll show it off when finished in a video!
Also what kind of mil are you using? I’ve been thinking bout getting one.
Looking forward to seeing your build! That mill is a Precision Mathews. I highly recommend it! If you watch BlondiHacks, it’s the same mill she uses.
I second PM mathews. They have several choices there normal run and a more expensive Taiwanese machine. They sell some awesome lathes also.
You do great work
Thanks Steve, I appreciate that!
