Denis you’ve really taken this to the next level. I’ve watched most of the builds for this challenge and they are all spectacular. I’ve got it give you the nod as the winner. Two main reasons. First, you made a Bowie in all senses of the definition (guard, recurve, clip point), while many others did not. Second, you used more techniques than anyone else: mosaic Damascus blade, twist Damascus fittings, nitre blueing, museum fit handle, multi-piece handle, take-down construction, etc. Kudos, brother

I love how your twisting wrench is a pipe wrench with a piece of rebar welded to it. shows that you don't need to blow the bank on tools when you have this kind of skill
@@doginasuit3255 if you’re just starting and not sure if this is something you want to invest a lot in, get a cheap Amazon forge. I suggest the Mr Volcano one. For anvil, get the Vevor 65 or 130lbs anvil. They are excellent for the price. I have one as my backup anvil. I hope that helps.

Damascus patterning is a science!! You have a total understanding of the metal and how it needs to be cut and shaped to create amazing patterns. The 'blueing' added a nice touch.

The blue/snowflake theme is spot on and resonates with me artistically. I'm a December baby but as a Marine, no snowflake...Lol. It's an incredible work of art. I love how the carbon, if I’m correct on what the stuff is, falls off one whole side face in one solid piece as your forming your billet square. It’s so satisfying watching it just like instantly form on the side out of the glowing orange and then peeling off in the one big piece and falling away. Muah! Chefs Kiss

My goodness everything fits so perfect. I just made a “bronze age Bowie”. I’m not a blade smith but I cast bronze and made a bronze Bowie on my channel. I’m just amazed at how precise your knives are. I grew a whole new appreciation for blade smiths.

Unfortunately you can use the NitreBlue on the blade. Since it requires temps of 640F, that would totally ruin the temper and soften the blade. Thanks for watching!

I bought my first over 40 years ago and have been challenging and buying versions from talented knife makers like you ever sense, averaging one every two years. The design seems simple but allows a lot of space for creativity and perfection.

Unfortunately you can't blue the blade like this. It requires getting the bluing solution up to 650F and that would ruin the temper on any blade. Thanks for watching, Joshua.

These days the “Bowie” knife has so many variations. I prefer a more modern recurve bowie profile. Thanks for watching.

I bought my first over 40 years ago and have been challenging and buying versions from talented knife makers like you ever sense, averaging one every two years. The design seems simple but allows a lot of space for creativity and perfection.

Unfortunately you can't blue the blade like this. It requires getting the bluing solution up to 650F and that would ruin the temper on any blade. Thanks for watching, Joshua.
