I would call it a DreamWeave, couse if you can dream it you can build it :) fantastic work, although I prefer your Cu- Mai builds a lot more :) if only I could afford one of your knives (the katana is one of my dream swords, and yours looks amazing)
I show everyone at work every time you make a new piece. Our entire manufacturing plant is obsessed with your work. This piece belongs in a museum on display for thousands of people to see and enjoy; although I'd love to own it. "DarkWeave" is a nice fit, or "BasketCase" for me!
I’m very new to forging, only been doing it 2 years or so. This video is so informational and the pattern is beautiful . Thanks for the step by step process.
Gorgeous! And I love the narration, perfect level of explanation: motivate choices and explain some maybe-not-obvious things but part from that keeping the visuals speak for themselves.
@@TyrellKnifeworks I have subscribed and I'm excited to learn what I can from your videos. I've been a welder for almost 10 years now and I want to get into forging knives. Do you have any advice for a beginner?
Your Damascus can go head to head with any Forger out there. Every piece is amazing with a perfectly contrasting handle and beautiful fit and finish. There are a lot of forgers who make a good looking blade but they strike out when it comes to everything else.
With how you go into details that help us understand how/ what you are doing earned you a subscription, I already know how to forge but have been struggling with the patterned Damascus
Your damascus techniques are awesome. I am by no means a blade smith or knife maker. I watched the show forged in fire and some of the techniques that are used in that show are pretty awesome. This basketweave pattern is by far the best looking pattern I have seen. Keep making those beautiful blades. Peace brother.
This one is a pretty bold pattern and I love it. You’ll see some more complex patterns soon though. 😉. If you haven’t watched my Damascus Patterns playlist, that’s something you should checkout. Thanks for watching.

Let me post this before I watch the video... BASKETWEAVE Damascus? C'mom now. There is NO WAY you are not a Master Bladesmith by now. If you are not, you should be. Impressed just by the thumbnail. Jesus....
One of the most beautiful knives that I have ever seen. I used to watch Forged in Fire 🔥, a show that put four blacksmiths in competition with each other making knives and after eliminating two of them the last two would be challenged to forging an iconic weapon of the past. However it was a pleasure watching you doing this beautiful damascus blade.
I just started forgoing. I've always loved watching, but I just never had the tools to try, but I hope to be able to perfect this skill to the same level as you
What do you think I should call this build? I'm leaning towards "DarkWeave".
Why do you have to normalize it before welding on the all thread?
@@EbonyPope No, normalize AFTER you weld on the all-thread... because the welding will make that area very weak because of the intense heat at the junction.
