The house you point at 3 minutes in was occupied by what may have been the last of the '45 Jacobite highland army of Charles Edward Stuart: Peter Grant, aka Auld Dubrach. Later, he had a British soldier billeted with him, which must have made for an interesting conversations. In 1822, he was introduced to King George IV. He died aged 110.
I love your adventures, man. You asked, so... I'd love to see you hit up more bothys. I'm from the US, and we just don't have anything like bothys out here. Thanks for sharing these trips with us, man!
Hmmmmmmm, i think i would have laid my bed out on the floor in front of the fire, and closed the doors to the rest of the rooms, seeing you had the place to yourself That was an awesome looking Bothy
Was there jut before new year. Loads of snow and will remember standing outside with a full moon illuminating the entire landscape. Good to see the place in summer. A cracking bothy.
Hi Gregor, superb mate, what a Bothy and what a stunning location. As bothies go, that is pretty luxurious, it’s better than all of the Travelodges! 🤣🤣 ⛰🥾🏕️🏴
Ŕeally enjoyable to watch, full of good humour and beautiful scenery. Like the way the Bothy is all natural pine wood and stone. Yes, would like to see more bothy, camping and wildlife videos. 😊
Agree with how terrible this summer has been 😂 dreadful.. must be due a heatwave in August.. I have never stayed in a bothy but if I was ever to stay in one then this would be the one, great video 😁
Hi. Nice video. Brings back memories from May 2023 when I had the privilege of staying there when I snagged the last bunk available - it was during the TGO Challenge and the place was heaving. Yes, full credit and kudos to the MBA on a fantastic renovation. Prior to their restoration I believe it was a ruin, uninhabitable even as an emergency shelter? You should start a poll with the title of Best Bothy For Bang For Your Buck, in terms of effort to get there with reward of destination! It's a contender for sure. Abyssinia? 90minutes to 2 hours easy walk in and fairly flat. Ryovan? 60minute easy walk in. Cast your votes!! Regards, Wadi
Hi Marie, these could be poisonous to dogs. You’re best just leave the mice be. It’s part and parcel of bothying that you’ll get mice occasionally. People just need to leave the place tidy with no perishable food left behind.
Enjoy your videos so much, relaxing and the views are fantastic!! The Bothy videos are awesome, you cover them well. Amazing hikes, been many years since I visited Scotland. Subbed so don't want to miss any videos. Thanks for all you do and look forward to more great views!!😀
Amazing video mate!! Yet another peaceful and beautiful adventure 🫡 I remember you checking out this bothy on your previous long journey, still seems as new and clean.
It might be Scotland but no denying that there's been a vast increase in rainfall over the last 12 months.Usually you get stable periods of high pressure but since July 2023 began we've hardly had one rain free day and pretty much constant Atlantic low pressure systems for over 12 months now .To be honest I've never known anything like it.
Wonderful video. Ive been through Aviemore but never this area. Beautiful views. Try Sainsbury's Pasta Pots. Mac and Cheese, other flavours too. You should try tyhem. Super bothy. Nice toilets but maybe could do with air vents. Lol. Sweet dreams and now homeward bound. 🙏👍👍💛👍👍🙏💯💯
Was in there a few weeks ago when I did the two Munro’s at the back of it. Absolutely beautiful and one to visit. You were lucky to have it on your own
Beautiful views. I've been through Aviemore but not in this area. Try Sainsbury's Pasta Pots, amazing Mac and Cheese amongst other flavours. Posh loos, maybe needs an air vent. Lol. Sweet dreams and now homeward bound. Love the video. 🙏🙏👍💛👍🙏🙏 💯💯
Hello Gregor, I have just recently discovered your videos and I'm really enjoying them. I paticularly like the fact that you give the viewer a real opportunity to soak up the views with little commentary and just let the camera do all the work. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your future adventures.
Scotland have very nice landscape but weather give me chill. There is a place in India call Cherapunj. Cherapunj have lots of rain. In Britain colonial time it's used to call Scotland of India.
That entire area is slowly coming back to life as the trees re-establish themselves. It’s nice now, but in the future this will be a three dimensional bio-diverse wonderland.
That’s a cracking bothy! We stayed in one not long ago and it had a full on kitchen, beds and everything. Got a video on my channel of it, was super cool. Hoping to do another bothy trip soon! Although we are a family of 6 and not sure I would do it as a solo female! Thanks for a great video, love watching others exploring the Scottish Wilderness as well!
love to see some more bothy trips, four hikers going to the toilet block in that bothy, three of them all together in the see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil poses and the fourth lucky one just outside, smell no evil
There are three to ensure there is capacity if bags fill before being collected and removed... Yer no meant to use at the same time. If you see two lids are secured shut so only 1 in use at a time 😅😂
@@toottheterrible yep, it dawned on me that that was the reason for the multiple seats when I was sat reading the sign on the wall at Corrour Bothy whilst using the facilities 🤣
I broke down gone midnight ob the A9 heading to Inverness and let me tell you I absolutely shit my self waited for friend to come to me with petrol it was horrible experience thought I would die
Great to see the young team up in the hills ,outstanding video keep them coming. I am gubbed aftet surgery its nice to see the Highlands. Thanks
I wouldn’t mind seeing a ‘Worst Bothy’ video now that you’ve introduced us to the best 👍🏼

Who gives a crap that he met a king. I can't stand how people worship celebrities and royal families.
Even in the rain it’s still stunningly beautiful. Sure is a great place to explore. Cheers for bring us a long
Is it weird that I'm Scottish and think, 'your accent is excellent, what an accent!!'
What a fantastic Bothy man. Thanks for sharing with us, cheers, John. 😀😃
Thanks John, really appreciate the support 🙏
Another fantastic adventure that put a smile on my face! Cant wait for summer that seems to have averted us this year

Great video, you certainly got 'lucky' in having the place to yourself.
Thanks mate. I certainly did, I think it’s a quite a busy bothy normally

Yes, it will be due to the walk-in.
I should be up that way later this year and I'll plan a route to cycle past it.
Cheers.

Thanks wadi. It’s a great bothy isn’t it. That’s a really good idea, need to visit a few more to make the decision myself👍
Quick anti-mouse remedy: either tea-tree oil or eucalyptus oil. Sprinkle some of either of these in their direction. They really hate these!
Thanks, will have a look at that for the future. All the best😊

What a great bothy! I like that there's a toilet too.
Nice Vid mate, pretty relaxing time to yourself, thanks for the views.
The scenery looks fabulous, I'm assuming there could be other people there! As for sharing a triple toilet... No thanks 😅😮
Yeh I just got lucky this time in getting the place to myself. I know, the toilet was an interesting one😂

There is a bothy in Wales which charges 35-45 pounds per night. Do the scottish ones charge?
Really? I thought they were all free to use? Who takes the money?
MBA bothies are free throughout the UK, ones that cost to stay in are private.

Yeh I’m the same, open fire is better but can’t complain eh. When the bothy is that nice 😊
I'm curious about where Gregor is from. I can't quite place his accent. Do any of you guys know please?
Thoroughly enjoying Gregor's videos. 😊
Bothy was a complete shell for years before the MBA converted it to the fab place you see now. Was not a bothy before that, just a ruin.
Can you sleep in a Bothy for more than 1 night
