Very enjoyable video - thank you for filming it and posting it here. In terms of heat output per unit weight of fuel carried coal is so much better than wood.
So impressed with your videos Gregor would certainly join a membership or paetron for your awesome channel buddy🏆💯 Find the videos interesting, stunning, relaxing, entertaining- well planned out and produced🏆🏆
always great to see a normal guy out and about doing what he loves, gentle humour and great feel to the video as always making the viewer feel as if they're actually there...PS, could have warned you about those BBQ beef super noodles, they ain't that great!!
You finally got your solo Bothy Gregor ...Great video once again! I really cant wait to get back to Scotland. There is a Kodak moment round every corner!
I do wonder how you organise your hikes ? And is it just a spontanious walk you take ? Or organised by reading books or other people who done these routes? Well one thing is for sure, Scotland is such a mind blowing place to go. Everytime your videos are out here , im blown away . Many thanks for share it with the rest of the world. You done a great job.
I plan all my hikes but just pick random places that look cool and head off. Always think it’s best not knowing too much about where your going, that way I’m surprised every time😊
I've been to that bothy many a time. That stream-path is always flowing, even after 6 weeks without rain. If you had arrived a couple of hours earlier you would have been able to forage some fallen wood from the adjacent woodland, plenty of saws in the bothy. The fireplace is, very annoyingly, not too deep. If you stick a log or two up the lum then you don't have to keep replenishing the fire . Happy Trails.
Reason for the bucket on a rope? a) Water bucket b) Food (noodles) storage bucket to deter wee timorous beasties c) Washing line for socks etc. First correct answer picked at random will receive........ 😁 Seriously - Why? Good video 👍🏻
Hi mate great video love seeing your adventures you fairly get about, this was a beautiful looking place you were this video, keep up the good work. Atb Wullie
We loved this adventure.. and as it was quite cold.. sure we were glad to see you had the bothey there to shelter in.. and the weather held nice for you as well.. We wondered who built and maintained the botheys.. and also if you have ever encountered an unexpected animal guest sheltering in one? Eagerly awaiting your next adventure we are!! Slan mo charaid William and Jen 💜💙🌱🌹✨
The Mountain Bothy Association maintain the bothies, mostly volunteers I believe. Never come across any unexpected animals in one of the buildings, plenty of spiders though😂😂
@@ScottishSummiteer We do not mind spiders at all.. they keep nasty insects at bay😊 Thank you for your kind reply.. from the Bothys you’ve been in.. they are doing an excellent job😊💜💙
Sweet wee Bothy!! Thanks for this relaxing video, beautiful views!! Trees are amazing, Scottish Pine or Fir? Ruins are nice to look at makes me wonder about the history in the places. Till the next adventure, be safe and well!!😁👍❤
Loved it mate as always! Super chill and calm. The weather couldve been less cloudy during the hike but no complains ahahah at least the views were vast and decent. Keep going and sharing !!
Another great video, and glad you had the Bothy to yourself. The bucket looked like it was collecting rainwater from the channel below the roof. That first Bothy was fun too 😊
A great video. perhaps next time try and source some more substantial firewood around the bothy to maintain the fire for longer. your dialogue is made even better by your occasional chuckle and giggle - You make me chuckle as well. keep these fantastic videos coming, they're great well done.
Whoah , when you mentioned Loch Fyne it reminded me of the restaurant there that does lobsters etc, I could possibly eat the entire menu... Would that make me shellfish? 😮😆👍🏼
Wahay!! Third time lucky, a bothy night to yourself🎉 Just as well, as it must be among, if not the, smallest MBA bothy. Getting a blazing fire going just like some of your earlier trips. That wide forest track is mapped as a 'forest drive'. Currently closed, or you'd have been jumping for your life as motorbikes, campervans, and off-road rally enthusiasts swept you out their way. Thankfully, the bothy itself appears to be a haven of tranquillity. But what was that bucket on a string for??
I love your hiking videos. I'd be nervous staying in a distant bothy on my own, more than in a tent. I'd equally hate the idea of sharing the space with strangers. But the other issue I had here was the bolt on the door, on the outside - because someone could lock you in. Was there any other way out? Maybe that's a weird thing to notice. Presumably you could use the bothy tools to get local logs, from dead or fallen trees, rather than to carry your own wood?
You could open the bolt from inside aswell, so I couldn’t be locked in luckily 😂😂 Yeh I probably should’ve collected some more wood, ran out of sunlight in the end

Nice, peaceful area Gregor. Where where you? All the best, John.
On the west coast of Scotland, not too far from the cowal peninsula 😊

Another great little trot out, thanks Gregor. Just thankful you didn't show us the contents of the bucket!
Was just a bunch of leaves and water in the bucket. Nothing special unfortunately 😂😂
What was the bucket for? End of the guttering, rain catcher? Ingenious.
Will the tracks through the forest double up as firebreaks ?. 👍👍💯💯👍👍
