G’day Andrew. Confirmation same experience since ages. CAV 296 is around for ever with glass bowl is : saying is believing !!! Float or small sensor is guessing work. If you guess it does not works you could be 99% correct. We fit in our machines separ 2000 with 60 mu stainless sieve and large glass bowl with hand valve in front of 1x big pre filter and 2x big main filters. Complains about destroyed injectors?! Only from the buggers who did not do the services correct or used copied filters.. for sure denied. Cheers mate and please keep more infos coming..
damn didn't know there was a Glass blow filter for the 1HZ just got a normal replacement oh well next filter change i will get one of these. wonder if there a filter like the ones the old JD 4540 had they look cool and you can see the filter element as well only down side the old way they connected would let air in a lot.
I was about to add a Fuel Manager pre filter to my 2004 Troopy 1 HD-FTE, if I install this filter will it do the same job as a Fuel Manager, as they are a 30 micron and the Delphi 296 is a 5- 7 micron and both have a large glass bowl at the bottom. Love your vids, very informative.
I've just had my '07 Rodeo serviced and nothing was mentioned about the fuel filter...I have no idea whether they checked it or not. I'll be looking into this tomorrow, thanks. (".)
@@BerrimaDiesel i have used them for a lot of years , in earthmoving ,road transport and particularly in marine , the beauty being the big sight glass , the fin separation system, bottom drain valve and no tools needed to change element , perhaps size when talking fittment underbonnet may be a concern .

Hi I have a 2004 rodeo 398 thous service every 5 thous but the old girl us a bit sluggish any help pls.

What about the pain in the arse paper cartridge prefilter element with the spring and bolt .Any spin on upgrades for that ?

Yep this filter can do it. When its ordered for 1HD-FT and FTE it has a higher flow head. Cheers

After fitting the glass bottom filter what do you do with the water float style sensor? Do you just unplug and totally remove it from the engine bay?
