Just installed the fuel manager and the provent 200 catch can from these guys . I had no idead what i was getting into and it was super easy. 1 hour for both i would say it is pretty fast to install
Do you guys know if these products are compatible with fuel additives like injector cleaners/fuel doctor etc? Or do these products potentially damage the filter media?
Good vid, I do like to visualy see the water trapped, how much, when and how long after filling up at certain stations. If Preline had a glass bowl I would of swpped over and updated. Been running fuelmanager for years never an issue.
No the alarm is completely independent from the factory alarm. you can see the install instructions here www.directionplus.com.au/Installation-Guide/Water-Sensor-Control-Unit-Installation-Guide.pdf
Hi Rony, You should be changing these filters at the same time of your vehicle service. Head to our website to see our large range of vehicle specific kits Regards, Team DP
Hi Lito, Check out our website, www.direction-plus.com.au in the instructions link you will find instructions for your vehicle. There the instructions will show where each of the kits are mounted. Also there a Amarok install video on our channel that might help as well th-cam.com/video/dkLlQrVt2dw/w-d-xo.html
Retro kits are so people who purchased an old fuelmanger kit could retrofit a preline. the older style brackets for the fuelmanagers are slightly diffrent to the one that we are using now which accept both preline and fuelmanager filters
the parts supplied in the 2 kits are a little diffrent from each other so its not a straight forward swap sorry. If you haven't fitted your kit you should be able to take is back to the place of purchase and exhange it for the one you want.
The Filters are made by two different manufactures, Fuel Manager by Clarcor (USA) and PreLine by Mann and Hummel (Germany). Unfortunately the filter elements aren't interchangeable because of the different designs.

@@adamrafferty7081 that's a bit of a pain. if there is another location free you can try a locate it there. we can send you one of our universal bracket to help. as long as your not adding massive lengths of hose to the system, prefilter can be mounted just about anywhere between the fuel tank and the factory filter.

Great video and lots of information, I just wish the new one had a glass bowl, I'm old fashioned that way
Great information but please fix your music volume. Almost blew my eardrums out everytime it comes on, particularly using headphones.

Thanks for this, I'm about to have a go myself!

I have the fuel manager setup, wondering if I was to change to newer version if use same connections & brackets...
Exactly the video I needed! Cheers!

How does the wiring work. Do you take the wires from the other filter and put them on the Preline filter?
They still didn't reply....

where are you going to get water in your fuel? the Gull service station down the road has 10 micron water filters on the outlets.....
with preline how we know how much to drain? until it smells fuel?
Can you run both in line ?
That's what I'm wondering..
Do I need a Preline AND a Fuel manger, or just the Preline?
Hello, my amarok 2013 2.0 have a brake liquid container, I need to know where I can put the bracket for the catch can and the filter.

Excellent! I know which one to purchase now.
Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
What is the difference between the "retro kit" and the normal kit?
Retro kits are so people who purchased an old fuelmanger kit could retrofit a preline. the older style brackets for the fuelmanagers are slightly diffrent to the one that we are using now which accept both preline and fuelmanager filters
I need one for a 2021 chevy silverado 3500hd
I got small fuel filter so I guess I got cheaper one? Can I swap so have warning light better filtration?
the parts supplied in the 2 kits are a little diffrent from each other so its not a straight forward swap sorry. If you haven't fitted your kit you should be able to take is back to the place of purchase and exhange it for the one you want.
I wish the Preline was a bit smaller. I just fit the Fuel Manager into my engine bay as it is.
hi so pre line is better than fuel manage? what if i installed a fuel manager already and want to replace it in pre filter?is it possible?
They're not too good on answering question. I'd like to know this also
yes you can, we have retrofit kits available. Its just a mater of replacing the filter assembly and wiring in the alarm
so which one is better?
They both have their advantages, at the end of the day they will both protect your diesel fuel injection system from water contamination.
SOUND DUDES
If they have better filter tech in the new one why not add this to the older filter as an option so no need for wiring or to change set up.

Good fucking point!
Hey Guys Does The Preline Filters work for a 100 series landcruiser with the 1hd fte?
Hi Omar, it will work with any diesel engine. We don't have a kit specifically for your vehicle but you can try one of the generic/universal kits
i like the Racor Snapp. please give views?.
the SNAPP units are a quality unit, but have a look at your fuel flow requirements and compare that with the SNAPP unit
