I love the video, but I hate to burst your bubble; technically, Paradise Hills ends at Potomac St, Alta View, and Dusk Drive. Past those streets is Bay/South Bay Terraces. Trust, growing up, I thought that was a part of Paradise Hills. Our Family has been living in PH since the ’70s.
I love all those food! Awesome cars! Congratulations on your successful meet-up Jaycation! Kim your cousin and Your friends are highly supportive of you! Here’s to 100k!
And the crazy part about living right their is because the landlord never told me and my dad that our apartment was haunted and my old apartment was #4 that whole area is haunted and this all happened when I was a little kid before my dad had passed away in 95
@@josephtolentino7626 I’m an old head. Lived there from 85-88. I do remember my step-dad used to help the landlord’s husband a lot because he had ALS. Pretty sure he passed when we were there too. Used to watch the 7-11 across the street get robbed all the time and gangbangers regularly outside my window. Still wouldn’t change a thing. Good times.
My friends and I used to always go to that two story McDonald’s and that taco shop everyday after school when we went to bell and Morse high school. Got lots of good photos on the second story of us hanging out 😂
Paradise hills was fun in the 90's. So much diversity. I had the privilege of seeing how so many cultures live. On my block alone. I had 4 friends . One Hispanic the othe Filipino and white one black the other figi and black my 2 cousins were white but had Filipino and other things. We all hung out play football basketball together rode bikes spent the night at each other's houses. I wouldn't trade my childhood for nobody else. By the way I'm black and white
I can not place that taco stand (barrel). Grew up up near the 2 story McDonald's. Nice when they put stores there. Driving home with lights and people a lot less scary than when nothing was there. Went to Potomac Park when it was new. Remember it sank? Used to be a dump in that area. Bell was, also.
Wow this video brings back so many memories. I remember the 2 story McDonalds being built. I lived on Zest St. Went to Bell and Morse. Shout out to the whole city man. Makes me want to fly home for a long needed visit. Biked and skated everywhere in PH! MORSE CLASS OF 95
Awesome ride. Soo nice seeing your cousin, Jay were you spoiled? 😆🙈. I would drive one of those daily and give up my car.lol... that’s a huge sandwich. 😎👍
Love your videos but he's wrong on that four corners... I grew up in SouthEast Daygo all my life.. Four corners is by Lincoln... Euclid & Imperial.. The Barrel is in Encanto. Down the hill from Morse on Skyline which you mentioned when you passed it up.. just didn't want the confusion and They renamed or was trying to rename the four corners of death to " Four corners of Life" ❤
when you show these areas can you show where they are on the san diego map , I think it will help us understand how far people would be from areas that they want to visit on vacation thanks Jay your doing a great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Went from having a clean haircut and button up shirt in Vegas to a purple bandana and Lakers shirt in Paradise Hills. Thanks for being an authentic dude!
I recently subscribed to your channel. Im from San Diego and am going to NYC for 10 days starting 6/3. Watching your videos helped me feel more prepared and excited for my upcoming trip, so thank you!
Very nice video and scenery stuff, you guys are cool, and the food looked great, especially that purple iced drink, Thanks for sharing “ 👊🙌🏼👏🏽👍👍 Tony j. from the Midwest/Indiana and shouts out to San Diego....
I'm Mexican , lived in Ph for 20 years , never been to 2 Story McD's. I live next to the car wash & drive thru liquor store on Potomac. I ran into more Filipinos while living in National City. the taco shop on Reo. Dr. was fire ! Pizza Place next the The Brooke apartments is fire as well. so many hoochies mommas in the area I lived at ... Potomac Dr.
I guess.. We moved to PH from Southeast at 12. I grew up in Paradise Hills before any of that existed. PH When my brothers rode their dirt bikes before Mickey D's was even thought of.. When I walked through canyons (no buildings, apartments) to get to Bell Jr. High, then to Deep Dell to catch the 11 bus to Morse. NONE of this existed.. It was SKYLINE and a fragment of new PH, new community near Penn Elementary. It wasn't until PH was established that they redistricted and Leon Williams considered it part of the 4th District, then it was supposed to be a part of SE. Never happened until more Blacks moved in but it was predominantly Hispanic and white before all of what you show in your vids
Bro, all kinds of nostalgia here. While I currently live in Mira Mesa.. PH & National City is where I grew up. Love the references to the 2-story McD’s, the PH park where I balled many times (which we simply called Potomac), Conchings, KB toys store, Tita’s (I’d order “sisig dalawa” combo plate), The Barrel… lots of memories at these places. Thanks for reppin my old hood!

I grew up in PH, almost got jumped in that 2-story McD's lot going home from Bell. Btw, it's Eastside not southside
PH and national city is Southeast and is not south side. He about to piss so many people off. He just done lost his hood pass.
You grew up in PH ? And the whole time you thought you were in east side ? Wtf! Southeast fool
@@sixtyonenine Haha right!!!

Perry, Bell, and Morse
