I'm 61 years old and still have my Mr Gasket traction bar I had in high school on my 71 cobra jet, I actually broke one of them and I'm having it repaired hoping to be able to use them on another project.
Ive watched a few times and did not notice until i went to do my own, is your shock only mounted on the one side of the bracket? I obviously cant use the stock shock mount and on the traction bar only 1 side has a mount while the other end is essentially open. Am i mistaken?
My 1967 rs is all original factory stock 4 speed ac Granada gold original paint I really do not want to put the bars on but the wheel hop is horrible under light acceleration around a corner you have to let off the gas you may have convinced me great video before and after!
I’m not advocating that you do that. All original is AMAZING! So cool for you. That said, if you do the bars, at least it’s bolt on. But you will have to drill. I didn’t do this video to convince anyone. And because my car isn’t all original, I figured I might as well. Let me know what you do. Hope you’re happy with whatever choice you make. Ps, love Granada Gold!
No. I am not an expert, but from all of my contacts who know these cars well, including the previous owner who did the restore, and my mechanic who takes on the stuff too challenging for my level of knowledge, discs in the back require a handful of changes that create additional problems. Best to just have discs up front is what I hear consistently.
Hey Steve, just found this channel. Great video. What traction bars did you use and did you have to use aluminum spacers?. Got a 67 with monos and wheel hop is killing me. Thanks in advance!
Bummer man I wish you would have done a how to and explained the shims and front space. Will continue my search.
I love the way traction bars look…
We mean business!!!
Thanks. They look good and they work!

Unless I drive like a moron and forget what gear I’m in, or start in 2nd, or flood my engine, or stall, or miss a shift, or ……

Would your do a 4 wheels disc brake setup???
