Do traction bars work? WHEEL HOP $75 Track bars, underview traction bar operation on a 1950s MOPAR.

Today i install set of $75 Amazon track bars on my 1955 plymouth plaza 2 door wagon to keep the springs from twisting. we had some pretty bad wheel hop. stay tuned an find out if this fixes our issue.

You can get taller snubbers and/or shim the ones you have upwards. Usually just touching or minimal gap helps, and you can even preload the right side some if it tends to torque steer.

Had these on my Australian 1976 factory charger 4 speed which was A 318 with 340 valley an factory Australia 4 barrel . Balanced an blue printed purple shaft cam etc . Could bet my mates E38 VH charger. It would do 55 mph first 75 mph 2nd gear 110 mph in 3rd top unknown 😵‍💫. Tramp rod did help . It had 8/half in gold American 🇺🇸 wheels with the chrome dish an 7 /half on the front 265 x14 Eagers tyres on the rear . Yes maybe did not need tramp rods but it did no harm . 👍🏻🇦🇺💯⛽️.

To make leaf spring cars work the pinion to driveshaft angle needs to be 5 to 7 degrees nose down and when you get on it pinion needs to be 0 degrees when you get on it. also the clamp on the rear segment of the springs behind axle needs to be removed where the car can have lift when you get on it. also the snubber needs to be as close to the front spring eye as possible for the most leverage and lift which plant the tires. drag raced mopar leaf spring cars for years. the snubber cars worked the best with the super stock springs which are the same length front segment as a A body car. if you put super stock type springs on like a road runner you use a longer front mounting bracket to put the spring in the correct spot.
