Spigen TA is my go to case for all my phones.
(Outside of the kickstand) I love them.

POWER DELIVERY 3.0: many sellers on Amazon will claim to have this but what you really need to look for is QUALCOMM 3.0. If it doesn't say Qualcomm 3.0, then it won't fast charge your Samsung phone. Just get the Samsung brand car charger. It says fast charging on my s9 when I plug it in.

How is your experience?

  • @BlairAir

This really is a great accessory review- you cover a lot of ground in a market that has SO MUCH STUFF - lol. I have seen a few wireless chargers like the CNSL with motorized clamping - that seems gimmicky, even if it does work decently and serves a purpose. I worry that it will hold up over time. The mechanical Iottie makes more sense to me.

  • @BlairAir
    @BlairAir 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Magnetic USB cable looked interesting. Then I realized if I wanted to leave the connector in the phone I would need multiple cables, home, car , work - else I would be pulling the connector out to charge with conventional cable. Sigh. I use wireless occasionally, but I am not fond of the additional heat generated for battery longevity concerns.

The Zagg Plastic one is okay. Works with the sensor, but after about a month or so it wears off on the edges and eventually starts to pull up and dirt gets in. The WDG doesn't work with the sensor very well and doesn't work with some cases. I don't use a screen protector and let me tell you, the Note 10P is like a freaking Nokia phone. I have issues maintaining grip sometimes with my hands due to a car collision. I have dropped this phone in various styles to which have made me scared that I broke the glass. Minus a few scratches, the phone is in perfect condition. Probably the best phone I have owned to date.

    Very informative!
One suggestion, though. Amazon sells the Vanmass Qi Wireless Car Charger, vent mount.
What's nice about this one, over the CNSL car mount, is that it has a built in battery, so you can remove your phone automatically, even if your car is turned off or unplugged! Nice touch!
Another bonus of the Vanmass is, it has two clear legs which hold the phone up. When you first put your phone in the charger, the legs glow red... but once power is being delivered to your cell phone, the legs glow blue, to let you know your phone is getting juice! Again, very helpful and appreciated extras!
This is, however, a vent mount, not suction.... in the few days I've owned and used it, it's held my Note 10 firmly in place with no mishaps!

I don't have mine yet. I was trying to squeeze every last drop of life out of this Note 5 before I spent $1100 on a new one, and I pretty much have. I bought this thing new some time in 2015, and due to my incessant streaming of Netflix through the Smart View or whatever it's called settings, and mirroring it to my Samsung Smart TV, the battery in this phone has been worked over pretty hard, and several months ago it got to the point that it was so swollen that the only way to hold the phone together was to superglue all down the left spine, put some clamps on it until the glue dried, then work fast to get the phone into an OtterBox Defender case before the battery pressure was great enough to break the phone open again. Fast forward to a few days ago, I was doing something, that caused the phone to lock up. Nothing worked to reboot the phone, not even the whichever volume key, home button and power button to boot into recovery mode. I took the phone out of the case so I could pull the SIM card to use in an older phone. Exactly how old or what phone, I'm not going to say, but it's older than the Note 5 by a long way, so use your imagination on that one. Anyway when I cracked the OtterBox open, the left spine blew apart bad enough that this time the front and rear panels weren't within two inches of each other. After many hours with the screen stuck in the ON mode on maximum brightness, the battery finally died, I dropped the SIM card back into it, smashed the whole thing back together, somehow stuffed it all back inside the OtterBox, recharged it and we're back in business. For the time being. Aside from it locking up a few days ago, this thing has been mostly trouble free and has barely hiccuped the whole time I've had it. It served me well, survived severe overheating of the battery, had the screen shattered several months ago by my own clumsiness and dropping a pocketknife on it, and somehow had the back glass shattered while it was in the OtterBox. I shall miss it sorely.
So enough of the history of my Note 5... Time to move on.
Regarding the DeX function, which is something completely new and foreign to me because... yeah.
Am I understanding correctly that if I get the USB C to HDMI adapter, I can connect via the HDMI port in my TV to run an almost PC like environment? Does the Note 10 really do that?
It looks like there's a ton of cool things to do with this phone, including a much more functional S-Pen. I've never been a power user, but even with the comparatively underdeveloped Pen in my Note 5, I still used it regularly and had many note to self moments and I was constantly writing something with it. A lot of people questioned whether I really needed it, and the answer is probably not, but if I'm going to spend (at that time) north of $700 for a phone, then I may as well get something with over the top functionality that I probably don't need. I probably could have gotten away with getting one of the S-10 variants, but why? I was also checking out the One Plus 7 something something something equally as unnecessary, but I've had Samsung Android phones since the first one came out on T-Mobile around 2011-ish, so I'm pretty well immersed in it now. That one was the Galaxy S-4G Vibrant and had a whopping 512MB of RAM with a single core processor.
I can't wait for it to get here to see if it's really as great as everyone says it is. It looks like this time, at least specification wise, they got everything together all in the same place at the same time.

I Love my Note 10+ and I also reccomend the Whitestone dome glass screen protector. It is so perfect you can't even tell I have one on unless you look for the edge.

You had so much good information. Thank you for sharing. I do have one question. I like wireless charger but I like using the IPOW magnetic phone holder on my car. Magnetic is very strong. The proble is you need a metal plate on your case and this blocks your wireless charger. What do recommend?

Suggestion for a future topic. Many people probably got a $150 credit with the Samsung store when they bought a Note 10. What would you recommend that they buy?

I am looking for a wireless camera to put a magnet on so I can stick to the back of my dumptruck when hooking up a trailer. Any suggestions. I just bought the note 10 plus I like the suction cup mounts you highlighted in this video. Instead of installing backup up cameras in every vehicle I have what are you thoughts.
Also is there such a thing as a bluetooth receiver that can be plugged into a auxiliary port on a radio that can allow internet steam radio to car radio thank you

I didn't even realise the proper dex dock gave you a resolution boost too thats great. I've just bought a regular non brand dock for now. Annoyingly the monitors I have around the house are all vga only and the vga adaptor doesn't work, apart from one which has a damaged screen. The secondary TV in the house is a cheap supermarket HD TV so the computer resolution is awful.
It'll do til payday I guess.

I've had issues with the iOttie mount. It refused to charge my note 8. Charging would constantly start and stop, then completely stops when the phone is too hot and wont charge till it's cooled down.

9:00 I got one by Qi, I can't exactly say what model it is but it's on Amazon so it should be easy enough to find it and it works great, got a little battery in it and the arms extend when the phone presses on a button on the back and release the phone again when you press a button on either side, it's great
