I am 10 months old to this video, but I wanted to add that I have a routine called "Busy bee" in which I set my phone to Do not disturb and also if someone tries to call me, blocks the call and sends an sms message (you need to have credit for this) that says "I am busy bee, if urgent send me a whatysapp text", I can see the whatsapp text through my watch and decide if it needs inmediate answer or not. I use this when I need to be on deep focus or when I go to a concert or to the movies. I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work!!
The only tip I would add to this video besides Good Lock modules would be auto rotate routine to turn on auto rotate only for when you are in certain apps such as gallery, youtube or whatever client you choose, twitch and any streaming apps you may have :)
One of my routines not mentioned: Auto dim phone brightness around before I wake up in the morning so I don't get blinded if I decide to check my phone first thing. Can also add another to turn it back to normal brightness.
I don't like to keep my location on all the time. But I do use google maps alot. So I have a routine setup to turn on location when using maps and to turn off location when maps is closed. Saves you from going in the menu to turn on location or forgetting to turn it on or off after using the app
I found your channel because I'm doing some research on buying the new Samsung S24 ultra. I'm using an S10+ that I've had for 5 yrs. I'm not a person that needs a new phone every yr. It's still works fine and I love it but I realize that Samsung stops supporting their phones after the 5 yr mark ie system updates, security updates or thats what I've bn told anyway. Lol. I change my phones about every 5 yrs. I'm by no means a tech person but you make your videos very easy to follow and comprehend. I've made some changes to my s10+ following your vids to make it quicker. Thank you. Subscribed. 👍
Always simple, honest, and time-saving. This presenter has a real gift - finding and making essential features useable. Complex made simple. Thank you.
I have a similar routine for night charging but instead of power saving, at night Protect Battery turns on. It turns off about a half-hour before I wake up so the phone doesn't sit at 100% all night but will top off in the last half-hour.
I just added a Routine with the "If" condition to "Then" turn on Protect Battery at 12:00 am. But where & how do you say "turn it off at a specific time"?
Your phone should have a setting to charge the phone to 85% and maintain that level. Battery and Device Care > Battery > More Battery Settings > Protect Battery
Here's one useful routine: I set up my phone while i'm at home and between 11pm and 7am to be in DND mode and greyscale mode (it makes my phone a lot more boring to use) and also if app opened (TikTok, Instagram) then app close (TikTok, Instagram) so it immediately closes them if i give in and try to open them before bed. Hope this helps :)
Using all these tips because you taught them to me on my s24 Ultra. Thank you so much. I am excited to begin using Modes and Routines and develop my own. Great tutorial and done not too fast, not too slow!
Just came across this video which is going to be very helpful. I am switching to the S 23 ultra this month and taking in as many videos as I can to learn tips and tricks & useful features. Hey ! Awesome video. Just want to ask one question. Will the last "ad blocker" if I can call it like that work with my youtube mobile app? I heard some news about youtube slowing or freezing videos (or they wont load/takes eternity to load even short video) to ppl who using ad blockers. I have Premium... but still - can this issue happen to me on my yt mobile app? I dont see any slow yet but u know... just wanted to ask..@@TechnicallyAlex
I have whole list of routines. Rotate when in a gallery, change volume when out of house, change when using BT headphones, battery reduced to 85% for protection until morning and the same tweaks as you have, also don't lock when my wifi connected, no reading mode in camera app (for color accuracy) and auto-disabling very dark mode and other features like this on the morning (I don't need to remember for deactivate this, it just do it by it self) and this is true SMARTphone 😊
Smart Lock is 125 meters or 410 feet, or 136 yards around the area so that means your phone is unlocked outside up to possibly the next street over, or at the very least, you neighbor can unlock it. The better solution is to put it in the routine and have your wifi and location to have the always unlock option.
I love your channel and the content you provide for my Samsung S23 Ultra, it's so helpful to utilize all the features of my phone! Thanks Alex, keep them coming.
I personally wish we could add more than 4 fingerprints. Edit: I have a routine set up when I connect to my car's Bluetooth to automatically open YT Music & increase volume to 100%.
But you can ad more than 5 fingers. When you create a profile, register 2 fingers in 1 profile. So ...for 5 profiles x 2 fingers/each you will have 10 fingers totaly registred
I like to use someone else's finger for maximum privacy, but the finger starts to smell after a while, and you have to cut off another one and register it.
Super video! Really useful. I used to use apps for some of these, but this makes it easier and doesn't clog the phone up with apps that I don't actually need (and the crap that comes with apps). I set up one for work (which I labelled as "Modor" with a fire pic 🤣) which doesn't have things muted, but has them on quieter. The whole world doesn't need to know when I get notifications at work. Although, it would have been better if I could have changed the notification tone for it to something that was just simple. Just a minor niggle of the third point: You have a routine to secure wifi, but you don't say *how* you set that up, you just show you've done it. 3:38 I think to avoid battery drain from always having Location/GPS enabled you can create a simple routine that will keep your phone unlocked when you're connected to a specific Wi-fi network, or networks, it works pretty great. Edit: I read online somewhere that this behavior, of using Wi-Fi instead of GPS should already be an option to save battery but in practice I didn't find anything like that in my S23 but I'm really glad these routines are here to save the day.
Just to add about the ad blocker. It will not allow you to use Airlines WiFi as it won't be loaded. Turn the Ad blocker off and you're good to go. Thanks for all your videos!@TechnicallyAlex Great stuff.
Tip #2 is nice to have but in my experience it never works well enough, and I also suspected battery drain while using it. I now tend to disable this and set screen to keep awake for 2 minutes Also thanks for the tips. My favorite was #8. Very useful

Great use of routines for turning off fast charging! I always turn off that feature because I tend to charge my phone at night, and like you said, it's pointless when it's able to charge for 7-9 hours!

I just got a Samsung Galaxy S23 plus. I do not understand this particular video. I tried to set up routines…but it did not work. Also some of the routines you show in this video are not available on my phone. I am a former Apple user, and I have to say, I find the Android very complex in comparison
Saw the vid and noticed the add blocket. Omg amazing best hack ever. Getting a new phone the day after tomorrow and its the first thing to do when i get it. Thx and keep up the good work.
Thank you for the text tip.its one of my favorite features. I created some of them but every time it brought it up and I tapped it on the toolbar. It added the shortcut letters too. Using the enter key with the seems to have solved that issue So far.
I use routines to have auto GPS. Basically i have set it up to automatically turn on GPS when certain apps are launched and revert to the off state once the apps are exited. Also Auto Sync. I turn off auto sync in general but through my routine I can have it turn on based on 2 conditions. 1 being connected to charger and 2 being connected to wifi.
i recommend to make a routine or mode that when you open any reading apps it automatically turns on eye comfort shield! you can also set the brightness to be specific if you want
Ty text shortcuts auto populating your address, cell, etc. TIP: If you use Gboard instead of Samsung keyboard, you can add these as shortcuts under the personal dictionary and achieve the same results. Subscribing because I also love the tips in all of the comments!
i have also been using the routine for a few months and it is great i made my phone consume as low as power it could and now my phone doesnt heat that much and also no extra pressure on phone
the adblock tip is kinda good, but it makes the general internet speed of your devices slows down. As I understand, all the "data" will be routed through one more "gate" which filters ads before you ==> slower.
Definitely leaving a like for that ad block method.

i recommend to make a routine or mode that when you open any reading apps it automatically turns on eye comfort shield! you can also set the brightness to be specific if you want
Thank you for that tip to block adds . Very useful.
That wallpaper. Help me find it please. 😊
