Quiet cab, interior panels vibrate or rattle if you have the radio up, you cannot turn off emergency braking you will have to shut it off every time when backing the trailer even if you back it up two feet pull forward and try to back again you will continually have to hit the button to shut the alarm off, voice navigation or voice recognition is on par with Ford sync 3 sync 2 another words not very good, lighting is excellent, save your money and buy a regular four-wheel drive the pro 4X is nothing special think of it as a appearance package with a rear locker that can only be used in 4low, traction control cannot be turned off no matter how long you hold the button it will always intervene. Tow mirrors are excellent big enough to where you can see what's going on small enough where it doesn't look like Dumbo to elephant rolling down the road like ford has on their half tons. Fuel tank in my opinion is too small for a full size truck especially considering the fuel mileage the truck gets. That's a pretty quick overview of what you're going to get. This is based on my own experience I have since sold mine. This was the second Nissan Titan I have owned.
Hey guys, nice review. Just a side thought on the new Tundra. Features like apple car play and remote start are subscription based. Once your warranty runs out you have to pay a fee to keep them active. Keep up the good work.
According to other reviews I’ve watched you get it automatically coinciding with your warranty time. After that runs out you have to pay a yearly fee. Not a great thing for your remote start. That’s from “Pickup Truck and SUV talk”. Apparently all car companies want to trend this way to open up some new revenue streams. Especially one older cars.In the past other car companies tried to do this with heated seats etc but pulled that back due to a backlash. Can’t remember if that was Mercedes or BMW.
You are absolutely correct my mistake. It’s the remote access functions… like remote start and remote lock/unlock. Letting the subscription run out also stops the key fob (secret?) remote start sequence from working as well.

Same dealership same day took 3 trucks to do one test drive. 1st one the turbo was cooked before we even left the lot. 2nd one went into reduced power of limp mode about 2 miles from the dealership. 3rd one was fine. All in all find the fit and finish to be early 90s levels. everything feels cheap and re-used from other vehicles in their lineup. Lastly the coil suspension which is why i wanted to give this truck a try was terrible. It felt like it drove like a 15 year old suv with worn out coils. Tested at 62k Canadian I put this truck completely off my list.
@@gopes23 Because you simply can't. Always avoid first year model of these all-new generation vehicles as they are bound to have defects.
I absolutely love how the video kist abruptly ends 😂😂
I think if you guys do an ownership review of the ram it would be pretty cool
Lane centering works when adaptive cruise control engaged .
You need to make a channel "Just throttle house" just to confuse everyone
Did you guys know the TRD off road package does come with a locking rear diff. At least in the USA. So that could certainly be worth it for the package.
Yep, for sure! But ours was the TRD sport package, which didn't have the diff.
@@ExtraThrottleHouse ah forgot about the looks only TRD Sport. Totally agree with your assessment in that regard. I drove a Tundra SR5 with the TRD Off Road package. I wasn't super impressed. I own a Rebel. Ordered a TRX. I'm not sorry. Haha.
@@slow8r .... you went from trying to buy a SR5 , arguably lowest spec ( i know SR is under it but still ) , to ordering a TRX .... interesting. Why didnt you test drive a LIMITED or wait for the CAPSTONE tundra trim . Then you go and buy a FCA product for 120k that has a worse ride quality then a ford raptor , a host of electrical problems , and quality issues. Im assuming you lease , if you did , fuck it enjoy it man.
@@georgehugeabutt9947 not sure what you're talking about. I think you have me confused with someone else. Never tried to buy any Tundra. I own a 2021 Rebel and it's great. Just lacking performance. I've had zero issues with it. I considered a new Tundra for a minute then dismissed it after sitting in them and driving them SR5 and Limited. They both were meh. Typical Toyota driving experience. Pretty bland at best. Also felt slower than the F-150 Tremor. Considered the F-150 Tremor but it felt cheap, narrowed my choices to the Raptor and TRX. I was going to go for a Raptor but couldn't even order one under $5k mark up and 9+ months out. Found I could order a TRX at Invoice with a 3-4 month wait which put it at the same price as the Raptor I'd have ordered because both my wife and myself liked the looks (inside and out) and comfort of the Ram better. Whenever Ford does release the Raptor R (if at this point) it's going to be pretty limited and likely you won't find one for under $150k.
Ultimately I wanted either better fuel economy or better performance. The TRX checks EVERY performance and comfort box for me. It's not going to be a daily. It's also going to hold value and even go up.
Great ending!
I’m glad to see that the Tundra is now back in the running, but I hate that new front end!
Woah they actually nailed the intro
I really enjoy y'all reviewing trucks more than I should 🤣
i’m so early i surprised myself
I have not seen one "voice command" system be helpful in any way.
I want to know who is actively choosing in car Infotainment over carplay or Android auto
Where is regular throttlehouse?
Loved the video but I will stand here asking for the nissan titan review.
PLS😭
Old school V8 old school gas mileage, great sounding radio, reverse camera looks like something Alpine radios came out with 25 years ago, seats are very comfortable, ride is comparable to the last generation ram with coil spring rear end, 9-speed autos pretty smooth, a lot of throttle delay in stop and go traffic, not as much storage inside, no flat floor in the rear, crew cab rear doors do not open as far as other manufacturers, you don't realize it until you go to open it up and you about break it thinking it's going to continue to open, HVAC system not the greatest the temperature control doesn't exactly match what you're asking for, you'll find yourself hunting for the correct temperature.
Such a shit move by Toyota.
I thought you pay for the subscription for 1/2/3/5 years up front during purchase like Subaru did to my wife and I...
Apple Carplay isn't a subscription
You are absolutely correct my mistake. It’s the remote access functions… like remote start and remote lock/unlock. Letting the subscription run out also stops the key fob (secret?) remote start sequence from working as well.
3 different power outputs for this new tundra . 1. Base trim SR 348hp and 405lb/ft - 2. SR5 and up 389hp and 479lb/ft - 3. i-FORCE MAX powertrain produces up to 437 hp, 583 lb.-ft.
All are 3.5L twin turbo engines. The i-force max just adds an electric motor. You can add the I-FORE max powertrain to the TRD Pro , Limited and Capstone powertrain next year. Chip shortages affecting production.
3.4L
@@Sacapuntas69 true 3444 cc , but companies round up for marketing
If I want a reliable truck, I'm getting the 2021. Same as I did the Tacoma "2015".
lol , man , you do know the 5.7L ISNT as reliable as people who dont know shit about mechanics think right ... The older 4.7L V8 was bulletproof for sure, but the 5.7l had problems. Toyota has been testing this 3.5L twin turbo V6 for 10 years. It launched in the Lexus LS 6 years ago and prior to launch in the LS , did 4 years of testing. This is toyota , not your brain
@@georgehugeabutt9947 I didn't say shit about the 5.7. Its more about a new model year. If you think a new model year is going to be more reliable than an old gen, you don't shit. But I'll throw in two twin turbos that wont last 150,000 miles as a door prize for ya. I'm sure the tested the shit of em, just to make sure they don't die under warranty. LOL
Got the base trim, crewmax msrp under 40k US.
Yota is always about reliability. 03 tundra will never give up.
Have they fixed the waste gate problem with the twin turbo V6 ?
When you said "Hey Google", you activated my "Hey Google".
He's right about the beanie.
A tundra like the obne in the video would be 130 000 cad in europe, at least in austria
i just bought one. sr5 long bed 4x4 crew max no options
Thomas you look hilarious in the driver seat. How low did you have your seat? James is like 6 inches taller than you in the truck.
I'm surprised they didn't know it had the "Hey Toyota", but it at least seems better than Mercedes since it understood what you said
i would just stick with wired for carplay/android auto. that way it is charging your phone while you are using it for those features which end up using battery. and no connection issues. its a win win win.
“Hey Toyota what’s the weather?”
Toyota: Look outside!
Front grille area set up for pedestrian protection , meant to absorb energy should a pedestrian collision occur.
try the capstone?
Sooooo when are you guys reviewing the new SEQUOIA? 🤔

Did anyone else's Google pop up when Thomas said "Hey google?"
Toyota needs to fire whoever designed the grill.
Are these small trucks? It looks similar size to a Tacoma..
My semi truck does a LOT towing and its a 6 cyl turbo (diesel thoe)
And way more displacement.
@@imnotusingmyrealname4566 actually not that much more, city driving pulling 28k to 33k pounds most days with a 8.3L. In my experience the problem with pick up trucks and towing is not the engine but the rear end and transmission
Turbo diesel and turbo petrol are like apples and oranges.
I kinda disagree about towing with the turbo v6's. I've had quite a few 3.5 EcoBoost trucks and only one 5.0L. the EcoBoost is at 90% of its torque at like 1700rpm. The V8 is constantly fishing for gears at every little hill or headwind. The turbo v6's pull more like the way a diesel pulls. Fuel economy is awful on either option when towing so that's not really a consideration in my mind. Not too sure on long term reliability as I haven't really had any major issues with either.
@@xlthumper not asking the pick up to pull 30k just 12k am sure it can handle it and ill put my money the transmission and the rear end will go first
so early, besides, Hi throttle house.
real questions, if this tundra was available before you purchased the truck, which one will u choose?
I’d get f150 hands down over the new tundra all day any day without the blink of an eye
