    A "Little Patience" my A**!!!
    But seriously thank you!
    Received the compressor and bracket yesterday and installed last night. This is exactly the solution I wanted: I thought I was going to have to settle for the single motor solution. The install went as described with the exception of "getting to those nuts was a little tricky, but a little patience ...." To seat those nuts it took me an hour and a half and a 20 minute taride of profanity and expletives, even came up with a few new phrases I didn't even knew existed.

    Hey Brad! I'm deployed to Afghanistan currently and I thank you for your videos as they bring a piece of home to me. I'll hopefully be back home to Lake Tahoe in the next few months and I can't wait to get in the Jeep and hit the trails! Thank you, and if you're ever in the Lake Tahoe area I would love to chat and hit the trails!
    All the best,
    Nick

    Great video. There's a trick with the clips on the fender. If you put needle nose on the clips on the inside and just barely squeeze, they pop off without breaking any and with almost no additional effort.

      Was interesting cause most installs I seen mounts it just under the hood. I have a KL Cherokee and thinking about where I want to install one for when traveling and camping. I'll prob do it in the actual truck on the side. Though these videos give me more ideas for installs of stuff we don't have kits for on other vehicals.

    I'd put hose clamps on those rubber hoses, even though the fittings are barbed... I've seen hoses with barbed fittings work loose. Haven't seen any work loose with hose clamps.

      There's no pressure on the lines, they are just breather tubes for the filters so no real need for clamps.

    Thinking of installing this in my '05 TJ Rocky Mtn at some point. It's a lot easier with a TJ, there's a metal shelf to the right of the brake booster like it was made for this ARB compressor. For now, my ViAir compressor still does a great job. Can't believe how little room there is under those Jl hoods. I think your son made a great decision getting a TJ, a lot less tech bells and whistles.

  • @MrK133n
    @MrK133n 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Nice kit! Only change I’d make is to put the air connection on the bumper so you don’t need to raise the hood to use it. Use one of the Jeep stock aux switches to turn on the pump and you’re good to go.

  • @desertdweller2902
    @desertdweller2902 ปีที่แล้ว

    I bought that same kit from your site. It's a great setup and inflates my tires pretty quick and was easy to install. I would suggest buying all 10 of the fender clips and when disconnecting the turn signal harness, pull out the red lever and press the small red button to release. I screwed around with the fender for an hour trying to figure it out...otherwise an easy install.

    I have this mounted in the engine compartment in my 2005 TJ. Works great, it’s waterproof and engine heat is not causing any issues. I mounted it on the fender well where my air box used to be. Not near the motor. No issues. Not a cheap product, but works great, very well made. (I have no connection with the manufacturer)

    I have mine ( same ARB compressor as in the video) mounted behind the second seat, drivers side wall ( JLU Wrangler) right behind the C pillar with the manifold mounted in the well underneath the lift up floorboard in the back ( space was to tight between the C pillar/backseat/rollbar for the manifold) . But after seeing the Grimes off-road mount system that was perfect for me, Especially the switch location as my factory switches on the dash have already been designated for different parts on the vehicle such as off road lights, rock lights, etc. Using my E3 overland discount I order the Grimm Off-road / ARB system today. Great video ... the kit was exactly what I've been looking for. BUT, in the small print, Grimm points out that it fits JL's with OEM equipped fenders and inner liners. There is so much variance between aftermarket liners that they didn't/couldn't accommodate them in the design. Shame on me, but I didn't read/understand this until after my kit was installed. If you have OEM fenders/liners, this is a great kit that was well designed and manufactured with quality parts. If you have aftermarket inner liners you need to be aware that it most likely won't work ... AAL and Metalcloak are two that it won't work with.

    Awesome overview for the new bracket for the engine compartment for the twin ARB air compressor. I want to replace my portable unit but would prefer to either have the compressor in the storage compartment by the tailgate or the MORE bracket behind the driver side passenger. I’d be too worried that the dirt and heat from the engine bay would wear out the compressor pre-maturely.

But, since I have a WK and not a Wrangler, I’ve been using a good portable compressor for a couple years. It’s come in handy for use on other vehicles as well. It's been a while, but I believe he ditched the single compressor because he was using a PowerTank CO2 compressor in the JK. I don't think there was any particular issue he had with it, just liked his new system better. For a more casual off-road vehicle, though (like the JL he's using here) this is probably a better option.

      RK Endsley The compressor is already on a bracket. I took it and put some really strong double sided Velcro on it and stuck it under the seat. That may sound cheap but works like a champ. The bottom of the bracket doesn’t get hot. Not in my testing at least. It’s also blocked by the seat brackets so I wouldn’t expect it to come out in an accident.

    I got an arb but mines in that sweet little tackle box. I'll never hard mount my compressor. Have thought about routing a place to clamp them without raising the hood but dont want "on board" air. Its too useful

    Did you get the 12v or 24v? Which aux would this connect to also? Thanks for sharing the install video. This will be very helpful.

    Will this system place the compressor in the same location on my 2016 Rubicon. I like the clean slick look

      No, they have a different mounting bracket for the JK's

    Just ordered a 2021 JLUR Eco-Diesel and I’m hoping someone will makes something like this for it. From I’ve seen, this won't work with the Diesel since there's a huge washer fluid tank in that mounting location.

      I am in search of the same thing, going to explore locations since not many have videos on the diesel and the layout of a lot of the components is completely different when you go under the JL.

    What do you recommend for lowering the tires to for off roaring? Not rock crawling. Just trails in the back country as you do.

    Jeep needs to include air compressors from the factory. They know how we use them. It's like com on. About time you notice what are the necessary things when offloading and overlanding.

    When your driving on the road do you like rolling full tire pressure on my Jeep we have 35’s and the full psi is 35 but when I air up I only go to 28 psi I believe it gives a less bumpy ride with potholes

      worse gas millage also

      28 psi would definitely ride a little nicer but the Patagonia's don't wear very well if they aren't inflated to about 35 or so. You get pretty bad cupping.

    I understand the JK/JL/JTs are the new hotness, but damnit, it’d be nice if companies made kits like this for our older stuff too. Almost zero aftermarket support of my WJ to begin with.

    Super slick install. I noticed you had the garage door open during the air up test and you only had the engine running for just a second during the power check.
    My question Brad is during the install you had the garage door closed, is your garage air conditioned?

    curious...would just removing the inner fender liner be another way to install? I have a rivet gun and can replace the liner back. Just didn't see why removing the whole fender necessary.
