Conflict is going to happen, but how should we handle it? With humility first, through godly community, and with mercy. This is how we can be like Jesus; which as followers of Christ, let’s follow the authentic Jesus and authentically look like Jesus in all aspects of our lives.

Wow - great timing! I just had an incident at work and am realizing that I really need to give forgiveness, not retribution. If anything, simply for my own peace of mind.

It's harmful emotionally but mostly just totally annoying how this person is so insecure that they have to constantly correct everyone around them (wrong or not) to the point of ridiculousness. I understand the passage as being how you treat another disciple of Jesus. This person isn't. Their idol is ego. The only thing I can do is to consider that there are a great many "harassed and helpless" people who need compassion. That's easy to say. 70 x 7 is how many little barbs there are that add up to a festering wound. I generally don't care what people think about me but the constant criticism from the one person? I start to care. There's no resolution if one of the people isn't interested in following Jesus or growing in character. It's a standstill. I live with this person.
