I ordered my very first 1911 (Springfield Mil Spec) that comes with an arched main spring housing, and after realizing how bad ass the 1911 looks with a flat mainspring housing I’m considering switching out from arched to flat and thanks to your video you made it possible to do it myself!
The older I get the more I find myself drawn to the 1911 platform. Started off as a 'every gun guy needs a 1911, guess I'll get one' purchase to now being one of my favorites to shoot. I guess with age comes taste! Beautiful pistols.
Agreed! Got my first 1911 ‘cos I got a really good deal on it and I figured everybody should have one, and now my 1911 is my everyday carry and my favorite gun.
Nice video, direct to the point, unlike many 1911 videos where we are given the history incessantly, the sob life story drama of the presenter, and other worthless info. I wish all presenter will follow your template. Thank you.
No no send it back to SA for upgrades like Magwell night sights and front checkering and that way you keep your life time warranty and the work is guaranteed
Thanks for the video, short and sweet with a few helpful tips. Is the flared magwell BLACK in color or is it more of a blue finish? I just snagged a Tisas 1911 Carry SS45R (Commander) on sale for $439, couldn't pass it up. Was looking to dress it up a bit and hoping the magwell is black in appearance.
Looks like the 2 piece magwell which is what I'm going to purchase fro my Springfield Garrison rather than the 1 piece which is much more expensive and to me, not worth the price difference. Also glad to see that it fit well on your Springfield as I was somewhat concerned about the fit on my Garrison and I'm assuming that the fit will, or should be the same as the as it is on your particular Springfield model which is....... what?
I did a test install with this magwell on several SA 1911 models(TRP/Loaded/Loaded Target)to check for fit and had no issues, it should fit your Garrison!
NO NO. Send it back to SA for the upgrade like Magwell night sights and front checkering that way you keep your life time warranty and everything well be guaranteed
…it’s built in the SA MSH. People replace it in fear of accidentally locking, making the pistol unusable. I replaced mine because I wanted a mag well for appearance to match my other SA 1911.
The ILS is a useless feature and so is 1/4 hammer cocking on a gun with already redundant safeties, and I don't consider it a true Series 70 with it. To have the ILS, it's missing the mainspring cap pin.

Was honestly waiting for another 1911 to appear out of nowhere 😅
Thank you for the upload, helpful video and informative.

Nice 1911's buddy thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
What a coincidence! I was thinking on purchasing the flared mag well for my Springfield 1911 as well.
…it’s an easy install. Thanks for watching!

I use a zip tie to compress the grip safety to hold the leaf spring in place and not allow the sear and disconnect to pop out.
appreciate the suggestion, thanks for watching!
Excellent instructions. I just did it.
Thanks for watching, it’s a fairly easy install.
The black on black looks GREAT!!!
Thanks! I was told that if the gun looks good, it will be more accurate - lol
@stillmatic6048 Get an Ed Brown match barrel if you want a real accuracy difference.
Una de las mejores armás ❤
What’s the advantage of adding the heavier spring with the pin lock vs the original spring and cap etc.
Thanks for the video
…thanks for watching!
Very helpful, my friend! ☺️
Great video! Unintended asmr :)
Well done
Just a quick question. What type/brand of grips are those?
the black set I installed towards the end are Wilson Combat (item #351ACFS) full size, flat bottom grip.

According to the specs on Brownells website, it states that it’s blued! I think it will be a close match with your Tisas.
What trigger do you have ?

@@TheRealZJE313bc there’s no need to worry about that
U can just put the original parts back on if u want to send it in for the warranty
@@DuhCL0WN o ok.but why go through that? .when u can just send it in for those upgrades and be done with it.
@@TheRealZJE313Because you get to keep and carry your gun everyday rather than waiting on getting it back.
Where the old locking system at?
…it’s built in the SA MSH. People replace it in fear of accidentally locking, making the pistol unusable. I replaced mine because I wanted a mag well for appearance to match my other SA 1911.
So did you trash it?
are those plastic triggers
No,just a solid trigger
So mag-well is just to make the gun look nice?
Yes, but most importantly, the beveled opening of the mag well helps you to quickly insert a magazine.
😊
hm.
