Yeah thank GOD he showed where the magazine went, I’m sure a lot of people were confused about that (intense sarcasm.)
@@UBRArsenalbro next time show me where the bullets go in a a mag, it’s so confusing!😂😂
I totally agree as a shooter who has never done this before
@@Kawmbat_Veteranalso how and when to take the bullets out of the mag and how and where the mag goes on the gun

I am a complete novice regarding this gun. Your instructional video was absolutely perfect. In every detail. I was able to take it apart put it back together perfectly on the first try thanks to your excellent video.
I’m glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day.
Absolutely the single best video on field stripping a 1911 I have seen in my 50 years of cleaning 1911's. The FIRST time I have seen HOW TO REMOVER THE SLIDE WITHOUT LEAVING A MARRED STREAK DOWN THE LENGTH OF THE SLIDE WHERE THE RETAINING PIECE GOES THRU THE SLIDE FROM THE OTHER SIDE! Excellent job on how to keep a slide in perfect condition after years of cleanings. 😊😊😊

Wow! I just ordered a Ronin (similar gun, and my 1st 1911) and have been searching videos on how to take down and clean, as I'm not familiar with the 1911 platform. I've seen a couple other videos, but this is by far, the BEST take down video on TH-cam. Thanks so much for doing this!! You must be a professional teacher or instructor! 🙂
I’m glad you liked the video. I'm just a regular dude. 👍🏼 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day.

EXCELLENT VIDEO. Best I've seen. Methodical, well paced, with clear and concise explanations at each step. No extraneous dialog.
Installed a new barrel on my SIG full size 1911. Used a J Dewey barrel bushing wrench to help prevent spring runaway. Bushing was not very hard to rotate but glad I had the wrench to control the spring. This wrench is highly recommended.

Thanks to your clear, detailed instructions, I was able to disassemble my new 1911 and even more remarkable, reassemble it!. I'm somewhat new to shooting and not particularly mechanically inclined, so I truly appreciate your video.

Thank you for the slower, well detailed pace. Defiantly one of the best 1911 dis/as videos i've seen! I'm not a 1911 guy so this made it wayyy easier for me to understand it and successfully dis/as my 1911!
I’m glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day.
the only complaint about is that it needs to be pointed out that many gun owners are first time shooters.i have a Springfield 1911 that was "built in may of 1915, all parts are ORIGINAL and this pistol is still being shot. when breaking it down to clean it and putting it back together ALL THE PARTS ARE BUTTERY SMOOTH AND A SNAP TO PUT TOGETHER. I have recently purchased a mil spec Springfield 1911. it's a nice pistol and the parts are TIGHT. I know that as time goes by, they will loosen. the barrel bushing on my 1915 1911can be VERY easily done with 2 fingers...on the mil spec I have to use my little hard rubber hammer (AKA..."Tinkers damn " and a modified cleaning rod from an AK 47) a couple of light taps and it comes out no probleemo. I don't remember every seeing with any of the disassembly/ reassembly videos give a "heads up" on various other ways to loosen up a particular part that might be hard to get off and this might take a little more effort that what you see as I (the guy on the video) is demonstrating........Im just sayinnnn!?
While I've never seen an "idiot scratch" done in person (or personally), that's a good example of one. Great explanation on how to reinstall without having that mishap.
Also take a shot every time you hear "Just like that."
Thank you for being so detailed! You helped me alot!
I’m so glad the video helped out. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day.
This slide lock. I’m going to cry.

@@UBRArsenal It occurred to me that since watching your video and understanding just how to correctly dissemble (field strip) and reassemble properly it is no longer a concern of mine to have scratch prevention protective strips or modifications to the the slide stop - just learn how to do it properly and modifications of any sort are not necessary.
this was a great demonstration of fieldstripping the 19 with a lot of detail on exactly how to do it! well done sir well done

I watch this video several times & I wish I would of watch it 1st instead of some the others I bought RIA 1911 & want to give it a cleaning the takedown was simple enough but putting it back together I struggled with it for almost over 90 minutes I finally give up. So now with this new info I think I will be able to put it back together My thanks to UBR for the very detailed explanations. 😊

I always insert an empty magazine, rack the slide to make sure the slide stop locks as part of the function test. As well as trigger reset and beaver tail travel. Great video.

I have the exact same stainless Springfield 1911, and although I’ve seen many 1911 field strip videos, I think yours is the best. The 1911 is not the easiest gun to take down. My biggest problem is I cannot get the slide stop lever back in place without getting a small straight slot screwdriver underneath the stop lever to push the plunger spring in. Only then can I seat the slide stop. However, I may be making the mistake that you pointed out by pushing up on the slide stop instead of straight in using both fingers. I’m going to try it now. Hope it works. Sometimes the simplest solution works best. Excellent video.
I’m so glad you liked the video. Let me know if using both fingers pushing straight in works any better. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day. 👍🏼🤜🤛
I have the same pistol with a lot of upgrades but I too always struggled with the slide stop installation. This shows just how to do it without buggering up the side of the pistol! This video is the utmost top notch how to video I have seen!
I saved a lot of time and read the owner's manual on my 1911 pistol, just two pages on disassembly, had a little picture, too, and I didn't need any digital device. Saved ten mins, and IMO, self-reliant confidence got a boost, esp if the grid is down.
Nice! 👍🏼
Awesome video! It's been a while since I've taken the safe queen out to the range and this video was the perfect refresher for the field strip.
I'm new to the 1911, perfect tutorial.

Thank you so much. This video was so helpful. I really enjoyed the way that you took your time and explained how to do put it back together. I never heard of putting the barrel bushing on so early, but I will be doing so from here on out.

Monday wanted to give my 1911 RIA a cleaning & it really amazing how much you forget as you get older (71) the disassemble the 1911 is really easy to do but when I went back to reassemble, I miss a step bummer I put the recoil spring back in before the retaining collar So back to the drawing board Once i got it figured out the rest of reassembling was a breeze. I did however learn a person with old fingers like mine can use a flat blade screwdriver when pushing down on spring & please wear safety glasses or make sure your eyes are not right over spring. Everybody different but I like to keep my guns clean & well maintain. It does not take long & I find it enjoyable.
Just bought one, thanks for this!

Omg I’ve been trying to turn the collar the wrong way for 20min on reassembly lol 😂. Almost took my eye out and damn near broke my thumb. Didn’t realize what I was doing wrong until watching your video. Thanks

I missed up somewhere along the way sadly finding out after i put in the slide stop/release as the slide would not stay attached to the lower but i re did the steps and was able to put it together correctly. I had to use a little screw driver to push back that little thing to put in the slide release part in
