Nice job. How dependable has this weapon been? Any malfunctions? I am wanting to purchase this but have seen lots of reviews of it having function problems.

With my 3", 4", 4.25" Ronin, and the Prodigy. The main problem was the magazines. After the 3" and 4.25", on the 4" Ronin, I tried stripped the magazines, cleaned, and oiled every part, then loaded and reloaded them several times each while watching movies and letting them sit loaded for couple nights before I took it out shooting. I also polished the feed ramp to a mirror finish and had no feeding issues afterward. So I do that to every 1911 and 2011 I purchased after that. It became ritual.
With the 4" Ronin, the ejector front leg broke somewhere between the 1st and the 200th rounds. I didn't know that till I went home to clean the gun. It took Springfield seven weeks to replace that. It was sitting on their shelf for over six weeks before they worked on it for an hour.
Another problem is the fiberoptic rod. I have to replace all of them because they all disappeared during the first 100th to 250th rounds. But Springfield sent me placement rods pretty quickly.
The 3" Ronin and the Prodigy guild rod unscrewed itself within 200~300 rds. They started to feel weird and I didn't know why. Again, I was only aware of that till I cleaned them.
I am still thinking of buying the 5" Ronin, tho. 😆

Really enjoyed the way you done this video showing everything step by step without talking over everything. If I may ask what brands of lubricant did you use?

    • @AllenTam

Lucas extreme duty gun grease and Break Free synthetic gun oil. Thank you for watching.

What’s the brand of anti slip you put on the front strap?

    • @AllenTam

Is Handi Treads clear grip tape I got from Lowe's. They don't carry it in store, I have to order it online and pickup at the store so I don't have to pay the shipping.

      @@AllenTam I enjoyed the video. I don’t think Springfield makes a Bull Barrel Ronin that’s 4.25. Am I mistaken? Respectfully, J.

@@jjames2162 From 3" to 4" only. From 4.25 to 5" have barrel bushing. Thank you very much for watching.
If you only want a Bull Barrel 4.25", may I recommend Bull Armory Commander? It is a very reliable gun for me, well over 1.5 K rounds with no failure at all. I can't say that with the Ronin's. The price was also in the $800s; I recall it cost me less than the Ronin. Not by much, dollar or two, nickel and dime.

Biggest disappointment in a 1911 that I've ever owned. My Ruger SR1911 Lightweight Commander-type in 9mm ran circles around my Ronon 9mm. I still have the Ruger.

That’s funny because I gave my Ruger to a friend for free and have a Springfield which is much nicer
