I just hope they include an option to switch back to the old UI so we don't have to do this hack.

Thanks. Any way to reduce the size off the recommendations on the side back to their small size? They are ridiculously big and honestly distracting right now.

Try clearing cache on your browser. It solved the problem for me. I am a Firefox user and this is exactly what I did:
1. open the side menu (3 lines)
2. go to Settings
3. go to Privacy & Security
4. scroll to Cookies and Site Data
5. clear Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content
Then I logged back in and it worked! Hopefully someone finds this helpful. Also it's worth noting that I previously sent feedback and asked TH-cam to revert the layout, so maybe that's what really solved the problem.

this was useful, thanks. i really hate the new layout and only have it on this channel for some reason (my other channel is fine, i dont know why this had the issue). it works. it looks a bit weird though, but i dont think that can be fixed.
