Epic chassis, NA sound and it hauled ass for what it was. He still has it to this day, done many, many track days and drives it like he stole it. It just won't die.
@@lollypop9580 another very fun RS which is often overlooked is a Japanese Honda Fit GP4 Hybrid RS. Excellent chassis but a little off pace of the Renault from a start until you strip weight. The GP4 has excellent handling and great midrange to top end power. Stock power of the jap spec is around 150hp with the hybrid.
Brake fade is probably due to fluid overheating. These cars really benefit from high temp fluid and brake cooling ducts where the fog lights usually go.
Sad Renault sacked of the hot hatch game, had a Mk3 Clio 200 and Mk3 Megane 250 both were great and rare (In the UK) machines. Renault UK also did super discounted track days for the RS owners.
Renault are so underrated when it comes to fast cars, even the majority of petrolheads I know just sack them off as french crap without a second thought. Cant even compare them to Peugeot - theyre still riding on the success of the 205 gti. They havent built a good performance car in nearly half a decade (306 gti/106 rallye).
Wow Misha, 663k subs! You are killing it man. Congrats on all the channel success. I think this calls for a celebratory drive with the France boys with the s..t tires that made your head hurt from laughing 2.0. That will always be my favorite video. Onward and upward 👍. Love the channel.
This seemed properly quick, it sounded great, suspension and tyres worked really well, and that was an exciting head-to-head with the Corsa, which was indeed flying. The wry smile on Misha's face revealed that he was pleased to have overtaken it ;)
I think brakes are likely fading due to poor cooling with the stock 172 and 182 discs which are only ventilated from the outside. My Renault 5 with Honda K20 engine has the discs from Renault Captur which are partially ventilated from the inside and has bigger cooling channels with pillar vanes. I also have Porsche Gt3 brake cooling scoops in the control arm and hoses from the fog lights. So there are options aswell as using 4pot calipers from Clio 197. Clio 172/182 are good cars for the money.
I did two full seasons in the Danish Renault Clio Cup back in 2004/05 in the Clio II, the Cup version from Renault Sport with a 6-speed sequential Zadev gearbox with quickshifter. A beast on cold tyres but apart from that a great little race car. If you ever get the chance to drive it, please share it with us, would be great!! Thanks for all your excellent videos, always fun to watch 🙏💪
Misha, you are awesome. I really admire your braveness to drive every car on the limit. It must be also quite a job to drive several cars per day. Respect!
Suspension seems good and well setup; high cornering speeds, yet compliant. Tires began to smear towards the end, which is to be expected for normal summer tires. Oh, and I like the sound :)
This clio 182, without cat and remap, it only delivers on high rpms....also brake system on that thing is best for the era, i do not know about specific car. thanks for the video.
Fast little car! Curious about the footwork at 5:41, though Edit: actually noticed it a few times throughout the lap. Can you tell me why you're on an off the throttle around corners? I track a FWD as well, so would be great to learn another technique
I would guess he's trying to gain more tire grip by coming off the throttle to ease stress on the Tires around the corners, it also allows the rear end to catch up, not a race driver, just my guess
25 year rule for them in the not too distant future, if that's a thing with cars from the UK anyway. Might even be able to get a ph1 already, I know a guy in Canada has imported a few mk2 sports, their rule is 20 years I believe.
Misha when you're going around some corners, why do you go on and off the throttle quickly? 10:18 I have a 182 but don't use this technique and I'm curious as to why you do it!
yea @mgcharoudin , you seem to quite stab the accelerator without upsetting balance of grip, how do you do that? Keen to see some vids on driving technique in FWD, what to do when things are about to go wrong, etc.
Can someone explain to me why, he "for the lack of a better word" blips the trottle at times during a corner? I can only assume he is doing it to revmatch before a down shift, but no clue.
They're very capable but because they come under the category of FWD Hatch, they never set records because of the Megane of the same period so it was largely overshadowed, it hasn't stopped them being the budget entry point for so many people into track days though. That Corsa must have been a red top conversion as its too old to be a VXR.
I see u today at devil's Diner. Want to talk with u but u go asap in a BMW and drive away. Maybe next time, we're leaving tomorrow. Love the Clio and the French emotions. I got a C2 VTS so much fun :D

So apparently the old tyre design is still relevant! That’s a good thing because it’s a struggle for us older hot hatch owners and PS3 seems to be the only reasonable HP tyre suitable for use outside the track you can get in 15-16 inch flavour. And if you're fated to stick with 14 inches it’s Yokohama semi-slicks or nothing 🙄
Depends on the car and the conditions. Michelin Pilot Sport one of the best all round tyres but there are better and cheaper options for the day and also for the wet
We are blessed with another NA hot hatch! The purest of pure driving experience, thanks Misha💪🏻
That corsa was a beast in the corners 😂
Indeed it deserved a ride!

came for a clio, got a corsa as a bonus
What a car, absolutely love the mk2 Clio. Great noise, epic FWD, N/A fun. Thanks for showing how well they can go in the right hands.

Wow that corsa was fast as hell!
So many epic videos recently with really cool cars, thank you misha and much love from the uk ❤

ok, i need a guide on how to make those cup holders
