My Renault made Nissan K14 got a crash bar there, crazy there is styro only. Sealing is similar... For the rust I'd recommend Fertan. You can use it one time, and the spot will be black. You can apply water/rinse repeat, and maybe get shiny metal again. It would easily crawl along these springs. I wouldn't dare to jack the car like that...
