They are engineers. lol. They don’t think like that
2 ideas:
1) we saw a color change with the boil, it turned straight purple/blue on the sides -- you should get it to boil and then cool and see if it acts differently after the color change.
2) coat things in it and let it dry, see if it keeps that metallic look or just turns black

You can freeze in the ink in the shape of a cylinder. And then vacuum that frozen block.
This would in some way represent the effect of space on ink.
Try to first thin the ink by heating it up. Then put the thinned ink in a spray can and try spraying a surface to see if it looks shiny.

Is the plastic from the pens thermoforming (can be heated and shaped) and if so could you melt all of the plastic and try to mould it into something?
Now try extracting graphite from 10,000 pencils...
You just burn the wood and you're left with the graphite. I did it before.

I used to like playing with ballpoint ink when I'm in class. I take out the inside part and blow on the other side so that the ink comes out from the ballpoint and mess around with it. I took a feather and dipped it in a small bead of ink and wrote "hi" on a piece of paper. It's really fun 😅

not sure, those balpoints are made very cheaply these days, so one from china might cost you less than a packet of gel-ink cartridges.
Not that those pens are made to last beyond a refill anyways. If you want a pen to last you long, just get a fountain pen.

You can by the glow stuff as a powder, we use it in nail art to mix with different gel polishes. It's not got a colour of its own except the glow when it is dark, so you can mix it with any type of polish, ink or varnish you like.

Well, you have a lot of Ink, maybe you could make a Gigantic Ink Pen? maybe you could even use something like a marble for a ballpoint?

Gravity would do the trick with this amount of ink but the ballpoint would require some precision machining on a lathe which they (for what I know) don't own and probably also don't have easy access to. That'd make it pretty complicated to realize the project.

I guess you can set fire to the leftover ink. It would turn out to be a great experiment. You know mainly due to the mineral oil pressence in the ink.

The Grim Reaper depends on the plastic - thermosetting plastics yes, as they are treated to be resistant to heat. Thermoforming plastics no, as they can be changed in heat
