Wow. This literally was an instant fix. Thank you so much! I watched several other videos that were much more involved and complex and then I saw this one, grabbed a cable from my old iPad and it worked immediately.
I know I'm late to the party here, but I've already been using the bottom port for years. I never liked the side cable so I bought an iPad as I wanted a larger screen but stupid me, the old used iPad I got wouldn't allow the free the DJI Go app so I then bought the Lichi app and a 180 degree lightening cable to go with it. This phenomenon has only been occurring for a couple flights but I freak out thinking I'm about to lose the Aircraft. Thankfully I wasn't downrange too far and hit the RTH until I heard it overhead or connectivity restored itself. I think I'll go buy a normal OEM lightening cable and test the theory that the cable itself is the issue. Thanks for the suggestion after 6 years. I pray it's not an internal thing. You may be a lifesaver Big D!
I have spent 2 days and have watched countless TH-cam videos trying to find this information. There are a lot of so-called experts out there but you nailed it ,,your information fixed the problems I had with my drone thank you very much.
This video FINALLY helped me reconnect my "gimbal" issue! I read everything I could, used Assistant 2 software, reformatted my SD card and nothing worked. Finally found this video and i'm back in action. Thanks!!

Thank you for your help, I did all you where showing here in this video but I still have GIMBAL DISCONNECTED under GIMBAL STATUS. I heard on this video you were saying about CALIBRATE THE COMPASS. Do you think that CALIBRATING THE COMPASS is connected with GIMBAL DISCONNECTED ?! I also need to CALIBRATE THE COMPASS. Please help me! Thanks!
Max Paterson the screen is not black. I have one of those privacy screens so it’s hard to see if you are not looking directly at it, so the camera had a hard time showing the screen.
did you know the original apple lightening cable has a small chip inside, if you use a counterfeit lightning cable it often doesn't work. Could this be why the DJI cable on the left hand side doesn't work... Hence why the iphone cable is more stable....?
I think mine is worse than that. It crashed for no reason and now I’m getting main controller data error, accelerometer error🥴 I install a new camera unit and now all this. I sent it to the shop today and they guy told my girl it has 18 codes, I’m like oh really....some people will really try to take advantage
Usb cable provided by dji is really sucks and very low quality Change that cable with other brands And if still use micro usb, USB 2.0 is a must And connect it with bottom usb port

Nova Kesuma make sure you have removed the plastic safety stop and cover from the camera.
