  • How I setup the Cuddeback Cuddelink System - this applies to the standard Cuddelink network as well as the cell cam system that I show here. I use the G cell cam and the new L series cameras as well as a few older J cameras
Comment any questions - I'm no expert but I did stay at a holiday inn express recently

You’re exactly right. Everytime I move the cell cam, I run a cell test, and everyone I move a remote cam, I make sure link level is above 20. Very few issues and customer service is great

Hey, Just doing a little research on the cuddling system. I've read so many negative reviews but I love the concept. It seems you have it down. I have a little hope now. Can the remote cameras have a solar setup or are they just battery operated. Thanks for the info.

I’ve had great luck with them. Read the manual, “practice” before heading to the woods and be patient.
Yes you can put solar power and/or external battery packs on all J,K,G and the new L cameras.
I run a system of ten cameras and they have worked great for me.
Let me know if you have other questions.

So these have to be line of sight? My property is heavy brush

Not quite but connection distance between them will vary depending on elevation and thickness. I have some that are 700 yards apart across high pastures and others that are 200 yards apart through cedar swamp.

Was the system reliable for you this past hunting season?

It sure was. Only issues I had was when a deer decided to chomp off one of the antennas and squirrel chewing through a solar panel cable. I ran 10 cameras from July - February.

How would you say the L remotes perform versus the G home? I am looking at maybe buying some used G cameras, but I am wondering if the newer L cameras outperform the Gs even though they have similar specs.

The G cameras are still a little step up compared to the L cams - photo quality is about the same but I believe the G has more LEDs, a little better detection and “zone control” that further helps center the object. Can’t go wrong with either, just depends on what you can find on the Used market.

Can the main camera be connected to your home WiFi so you don't have to pay for a cellular plan

I haven’t seen that offered yet. But, you could always use the Cuddeback system as it was originally designed: Forget the cellcam portion - set one camera as “Home” nearby your house, cottage, etc, set all other cameras as remote (like in my video) and go frequently pull the home cam SD card to check activity from all the remote cams; no cell data plan needed

Do you have a cuddelink camera? Cuddeback does make cameras that are stand-alone cell cams so it might not be compatible.
