  • How fast will Cuddelink send pictures?
We go over how often and how quickly you can expect pictures from your Cuddelink cameras, what affects sending times, and what our prefered setting is for sending pictures to your phone via cell.

would love to know how long the cameras last just on the D batteries them self. I know this can very on how many pictures you get, the image quality, and the cell service. Would also would love to know how long they last with the big Cudde solar panel

Cameras on the internal 4D batteries themselves will last around 2 months (give or take depending on situation).
Don’t have any hard numbers on the big solar yet but my experience with the PW-3600 (smaller panel) has been great. These need to be in sun but if they are I’ve had mine run all year without using the internal D batteries of the camera. Of course this will vary depending on pic counts, sun, link signal, etc… the big solar has I’ve over 2x the panel surface area and has 2 internal battery packs (vs 1 in the 3600) so it should last much longer.

@@uoutdoors I know some company's recommend having batteries in the camera with solar panel but you've ran your cudde cams with out batteries for almost a year?

@@MakingHope yeah pretty much, the camera never switched to the internal D batteries so it would have been good to go without batteries as well.

@@MakingHope full sun, I’d do full sun for the 3600 panel. The big panel will handle more shade but of course sun is better.

I keep getting the same 30 photos from one of my cameras from about 2 months ago. It sends them every hour and burns through my plan in a few days so I can't get any additional photos until my next plan month begins. Any ideas what could cause this? Could this be an issue with the home base, or with the camera that the photos were taken? I currently have 6 cameras set up and I am not sure of the daisy chain links.

Try a new SD card in the camera that’s sending the same images over and over. That should fix the issue. Let me know if that works👍🏻

I have a 4 cuddelink camera w/home base unit setup. I've had it for 2 years now.
Was wondering if only 5 - 6 weeks of battery life is normal for Cuddeback? I have other manufacturers Moultrie and Bushnell that use 6 or 8 AA and last 9 months or more on 1 set of batteries. I even test those cams side by side with the cuddeback and get as many and more pictures from the Bushnell and Moultrie that the Cuddebacks ...🤔
I really like the Cuddelink idea, but really, really hate always having to constantly buy D cell batteries, especially with absolutely nowhere to dispose of/recycle small batteries. (Could have bought 2 or 3 more Bushnell cameras for the cost in batteries lately.) Plus defeats the purpose of cuddelink for not having to go pull cards when you have to go anyway to swap batteries.
Seen the external 6 cell pack, but afraid that's only gonna create more waste.
How long do the rechargeable D cells last with the solar panels?

On a 4D powered camera you should get 1 1/2 to 2 months of run time depending on pic counts, link signal strength, etc..could be less with lots of pictures.
I’m assuming those moultrie and bushnell cameras are just SD cams, most cellular (and cuddelink) take much more power to operate. I recommend external power on every brand of cell cam I’ve sold.
I definitely recommend external power on the Cuddelinks, they just take more power to run and like you mentioned the point is to not visit the camera very often.
There’s 2 different solar panel options. 1) is the PW-3600, this works well if you have good sunlight and are placing cameras on trails, scrapes, field/food plot edges. I’ve had them run for a year without touching them.
      uoutdoors1.com/store/solar-power-bank-model-pw-3600
Option 2) is the PW-003 sun and shade solar panel, this can work in semi shaded areas and full sun and would be a good option for everywhere including feeder locations. It is a bit overkill for moderate pic locations with good sunlight though.
      uoutdoors1.com/store/cuddeback-super-solar-panel-pw-003
You can also go with external battery packs like the Dx6 or Dual Power Bank, you would be using more D batteries though which it sounds like you prefer not to use. These would be good in wooded spots where solar wouldn’t be ideal.
If you have any other questions please let me know👍🏻

@uoutdoors I'll check out those options.
Just checked my cameras, and it shows 2 of the cameras, I just put fresh batteries in 3 weeks ago, as low. Neither of them have had many pics taken lately. Maybe 50-100 pics in the 3 weeks...
I guess I just expected more out of cameras that cost $200 each.

I’ve been waiting on the cuddelink home (without the camera) for over a year. Every time I call to check on availability status, I get a different answer. Their customer service is frustrating. I wish 1 person at cuddeback had a good / honest answer.
