This is genuinely incredible. This feels like an alternate universe where we ended up getting an entirely different Mario Sunshine. I can't even begin to describe the kind of bliss I felt in hearing this soundtrack with the fuzzy visuals as if recorded on a CRT. Please please please continue work on this! I would love to be able to experience this myself.
To see the genuine beta build of Sunshine would be a dream come true. I’ve been fascinated with the Spaceworld build for ages, and I eagerly await the day that we eventually uncover it.
there's something i miss about how games looked so different during their early stages. always makes you wonder how history would've changed if the first showcase was the final release.
So happy the Spaceworld stuff I made all those years ago is getting new life and becoming even better than I ever could've hoped for! This is what I wish I could've made ahaha
@@yourehereforthatarentyou Haha, wow you're so witty. Pianta Village literally had levels at night, Delfino could have had moments of night time too. Just was something I would have liked to see.
@@michaelcupps9064 because back then the lighting wasn't rendered in real time. all the darkened objects are textured that way to mimic being in the night. so in pianta village, there's 2 sets of textures for every object. doing that for every level would be a huge space and time hog on an already crunched game.
This is absolutely amazing dude i would love to see the whole thing. Somehow you made a nostalgic game even more nostalgic! It feels like a fever dream amazing job!
its really amazing what youve been able to create based off a single trailer and leftovers in the final game. ive been obsessed with sunshines beta ever since i first saw it, so this being finally realized is like a dream come true lol
Seriously amazing beyond all measure what they can create with unused content. THIS is almost exactly like the trailer, when Nintendo puts out trailers, I wish this we weren’t going to have things be possibly at risk of ever being seen again, cause what they’ve done is beautiful, and also awful in a way, cause the only thing to call awful is that they’ll hide what they’ve made and the game will look completely unlike the way it did in their beta/trailers, so I don’t exactly feel lied to by Nintendo but I wish they just gave the people entirely what they wanted, ONLY. Honest to God, this is almost juicier looking then the actual game ffs 🤣😍😍
Wow... at one glance, you're looking at a video game that's supposedly been unburied from the vault of lost Nintendo media. It feels like an actual demo, and despite how short we might expect this game to be compared to final 2002 version, there's bound to be so much content to unpack here from all the beta elements with new twists and surprises thrown in here. I'm actually looking forward to the Super Mario Sunshine 2001 Spaceworld mod as much as I'm looking forward to the LMBR+! You've done it again as always, my dedicated pup!😁
I remember seeing some grainy beta footage as a kid, but seeing this much is honestly incredible. I actually like the original idea they had for the game, going around cleaning different hub areas to get a train ticket to the next area. I think having multiple hub areas would've made the game more relaxing, sort of like slowly lighting up the rooms in Luigi's Mansion, but it's cleaning the different areas here. I know Nintendo eventually went with something different because that was thought not to be exciting enough, but I would've enjoyed a lower stress, comfortable experience if Mario Sunshine ended up turning into that.
y'all are truly masters at work, i cant say anything else, this is one of the most impressive mods for any game that i've ever looked, and i'm not putting this phrase lightly, changing ui's, levels, the vibe also, this is the greatest mod i've ever seen in my life
what is it with these old games having crazy high FPS? it feels so weird to watch when sunshine runs at a lower framerate. but at the same time this is cool as hell.
There is a historical precedent for this instance: Sunshine was originally a 60FPS game but the decision was made to emphasize visual fidelity, reducing the framerate to 30 to free up resources for nicer models and higher resolution textures.
@@E3kHatenaand that’s surprisingly something Nintendo will never prioritize again, if Galaxy and Odyssey are anything to go by. I’ll take 60fps any day though
It's so beautiful. The beach town and colors. Feels like an entire new game. The final version is way lighty, too bright, too yellow and green. Also beautiful woman there.
This is really awesome man. I absolutely love the train travel animation. I’ve always dreamed of a mainline 3D Mario game where you’re exploring a real place, and where you have to use real modes of transportation to get between levels. I think that’s what sunshine was going to be, but sadly they just didn’t have time to realize it
I hate videos that don't clarify it's a mod in the title. Like, this shit is awesome and you have done an amazing job with this mod, but damn bro hit me with the clickbait.
That looks incredible and I can't wait to be able to play it. Just a little thing I noticed and would be cool to add : On the controls screen, putting a prototype controller with the smaller c-stick instead of the finalized one would fit more the vibe of the project in my opinion. Nothing important or ground breaking but something I thought would be cool
This is very wonderful. Glad someone could put together a Beta Build by restoring this version of the game. You know what is missing though is Mario's Life Counter like the 8 Life Health Bar. Maybe you can put the Health Bar in the Middle like Super Mario 64 did and rename "Life" as "Power" also use the Early Life Bar that was from Pre-E3 2002 which had a Number in the Middle, with the Number Font being Red, orange, yellow, and green with a red Sun around it that was a bit transparent like have the Life Bar be in the position the Mario 64 had it but for Sunshine. The Underwater Life Bar can be the same exact one as the Pre-E3 2002 except the color is dark blue being transparent with "Power" replaced by "Air" the Water icon of the sun still stays the same like how it was in the Nintendo Spaceworld 2001 Trailer, with the Coins still keeping the design you chose which was a Shine Coin. When Mario collects a Shine Sprite in the 2001 Gameplay you done have the Super Mario Bros. 1 Victory Theme play as the Shine Theme just like how Super Mario Galaxy did back in 2006's first ever demo. With the text Shine Get like how the early version of Mario collecting a Shine was shown back in Pre-2002 but it would be for the Nintendo Spaceworld 2001 Version with keeping the 2001 Hud you recreated and showcased today.
The triangles around the water meter is the health bar, if you look closely, one of the triangles becomes darker when Mario took damage during the boss battle
Oh, now I see now! But what about for when Mario is underwater? Will his 8 Triangles on the Water Meter be Blue in this Build if Mario was underwater? In not underwater he would have the present dark orange health bar colors. When I saw Mario took damage one of his triangles turned gray.
This feels and looks like a dream, so strange yet beautiful. It feels like I've fallen asleep after playing Mario Sunshine for too long into the night. I say that as a compliment though.
You are the chosen one doing God's work. So much joy and excitement watching this. I will be a supporter on patreon till the day I die, in fact I'm about to go up in how much I donate
idk how to describe it, but this looks like if SEGA made Super Mario Sunshine, with the Sonic Adventure 2 engine. in a good way! ironic since both SA2 and Sunshine have their main character locked up, thanks to a "Shadow" clone.
I wonder how the developers would react on seeing their old scrapped work restored like this. This is impressive as hell, can't wait to experience this different take on my own one day.
Well this ended up being a lot more strange and creepypasta feeling than even I was expecting lol. Thank you animal crossing villager for the exposition. Yet I still highly appreciate the godly like work. Seeing this just makes me want to grab a tie dye fruit by the foot you know. Will Hotel Lacrima and Hotel Delfino be coexisting in this? I think they're listed separately in the game's files iirc? I do think it's a neat/funny idea if Lacrima is a cheaper but still nice and comfortable hotel while Hotel Delfino is the big gaudy overpriced show off one that's a piece of crap and turns out to be haunted too on top of it lol.
La verdad está quedando muy bien, lástima que las "copias personalizadas" de Mario 64 me hagan pensar que en algún punto esto se va a tornar bizarro o tétrico.
The truth was only in Dudaw' previous beta attempts and in the articles found in Super Mario Wiki and Unseen64, also in Beta64 and Ookami Break channels on TH-cam.
Not sure if the crude water train bridge is a placeholder, because I do hope it gets changed. I'd assume the building with the entrance was going to be a Subway for Dolphino Island, because that would make more sense. I suppose it would be better for them to have a sturdy train bridge over the ocean that spans the entire resort that lets the small boats pass by. If the bridge looked more supported & with a modern train, that will make it more believable like Sonic Adventure.
i really like the fact that the goop is rainbow,i like the rainbow more than the brown one,but one question, why is the Gobbles (the enemies that come out of goop) are mushroom slugs?
