Sorry for the dodgy aspect ratio on this video. I had an issue rendering the video today and ran out of time to fix it. In the end I just had to upload it as it is 😢
I’ve had Rangers since 2014, I love them, best spec previously were the old Thunder and Limited II but I’ve just hit the button on an MS-RT, will be with me by the end of the month, cannot wait 🥳 Thanks for the insight on this spec.
Hi Ped, not sure if your aware but the video isn’t playing in full screen it’s got a huge black box around it. Tried it on a TV and a iPhone and it’s the same on both.
I know. I had a nightmare today. It rendered in the wrong aspect ratio and I couldn’t work out why. I then ran out of time and just had to upload it so I didn’t miss my 6pm deadline 😢
Great video Pete! I recently picked up my Ranger and have also been surprised at how much fun it is to drive and own. Great looking truck, and definitely a keeper for me. Keep up the good work fella!
Great video Pete. The Ford Ranger is a top seller in South Africa and very common as both a recreational and work vehicle commonly referred to as a "bakkie". I'd be keen to see you do a review of the brand new Ranger when its released in the UK.
When you've got a subscriber base (me included!) who are willing to watch 20 minutes of 'you', just doing 'you' stuff, you're doing something well :) Another good video Pete. Loved the drop in at Caffine and Machine. Perhaps you could do a meet and greet there some time.
Agreed what you are saying re the unusability of the bed part of the truck storage wise, what will be nice is when the Rivian R1S comes to the UK, now that would be usable
Great vid as always Pete. Glad I wasn't the only one noticing the smaller aspect of the vid. Fortunately, it didn't take anything away from the video. Glad you made it to Wembley.
If you want comfort in the Ranger without it not being jittery you need to compare it to the Uk Ranger Raptor it will glide like you want and it’s even higher lift than the standard. It’s not hot the 1 ton payload but it has Fox shocks all round .
Hadn't previously heard of mrst models but it looked nice and that tank range is the same as my 1.5 litre petrol Mercedes so quite Impressive. Nice one Pete
Wow what a week Sir Pete! Definitely a great way to end it though with a Coldplay concert with Mrs.G A great video and I do like this format of video. The thing that amazes me a bit about trucks in the UK 🇬🇧 vs USA 🇺🇸 is that a ranger is a midsize truck to us but it’s really big to you guys. I’m so glad your enjoying the ranger though!! Trucks definitely are very cool and fun to drive. Trucks just work there way into your heart and next thing ya know your hooked. Can’t wait for more content around the truck.
I think you need an 18 ton truck to flatten sleeping police men 😂. As pickups go the Ranger looks the business. Last time I saw Cold Play was over 20 years ago. Time flies.
Busy week for you Pete, the pick ups not my cup of tea if I’m honest but always good to have the variety of different stuff. I’m off to see Coldplay on Sunday, can’t wait. Have a great week.
Crikey, that was a full house at Wembley. It's made me wonder, where on earth does everyone park? Living out in the sticks, as I do, I wonder how London copes with that amount of people heading into the city for a few hours before leaving again. Absolutely mental, and I've no idea how many would have been there.
You need to see some of the custom work done on pickup trucks here in the States. You can get as plush as you want while looking like a beast. (And pay a pretty price for the privilege.) My daughter's first adult vehcile was a Toyoto Tundra which she drove to Alaska in the summers as she was a guide and set routes on rock and ice climbs. Had a top on the back which let her get straight into the cab in case a grizzly bear decided to visit in the night when she was camping in it.
Peter…a nice interesting video again! I notice you parked on what was the cafe at Cheltenham Coach Station…yes you wouldn’t know but you can spot the floor tiles! The Ranger would have been lost in the 100+ coaches that would leave around lunchtime every Friday and Saturday for decades…all long gone now of course. The car was as I guess you would expect really…designed to do its role well and not too thirsty…you would not want as your only car though. I’m glad you are back on your old job because it will keep your skills going should you need them full time one day…but I’m hoping you can be up there with Tim “SHMEE” soon and never have to motivate again!. I’m glad you got to see Cold Play…and by the time you read this, are back home and off on more adventures. The Ranger is not quite me but I would choose it over many other things…but I want you in a P440e Range Rover Sport so I hope you are on a list somewhere🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼😱😀😀😀😀Stay safe…eat more burgers and beans…now maybe that Tesla seat joke would work better in the Ranger ???😅😰🤪🤪🤪🤪
I often wondered if this would be an alternative to a family car. The fidgeting ride you mentioned is enough to put me off. As you say, the design brief is different.
Great video again Ped. In Aus the Ford Ranger was top selling ute 2021 followed closely by Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi Triton, Isuzu DMax and are extremely popular here. Only problem is you cannot get a manual in most of these now and for heavy towing you need to add an auto trans cooler or you cook the trans and something like 10K for a rebuild on the Ford box. Tradies and those with towable toys and caravans just love these trucks.
That was a busy week.Hope the concert lived up to expectations. The pickup looks good, but huge. The higher driving position is something I like too,you get such a better view of the road.Good review as always. Will you be doing some offroad in the Ranger? That would be Brill.
Hi Pete Enjoyed video mate full of content really enjoy these trips not sure why there was a black box around the screen think you need a cover for the back has you say there is always some undesirable around hope you & Mrs P enjoyed your evening.
Good luck with the half ironman 💪 Done a couple of sprint distance triathlons before now and just doing the 5k run at the end was hell, despite thinking I'd learnt my lesson to spin out on the bike coming in after the first one!
Well that was interesting... Looks like a great car to drive but the fuel cost.... Ouch! Glad you're journeys weren't too bad and you didn't get stuck in reverse.
Good morning petrol ped hope you are doing well absolutely fantastic video thanks you very much out of your 520 miles that you ranger says keep up the amazing work thanks you very much Tristan
@@PetrolPed - ah, you see I’m more in the Muse camp #neverthetwainshallmeet (which has been good for some banter with a colleague, who is a diehard Coldplay fan 🤣)
The rear seats give the impression it’s a car, it’s not, it’s a commercial vehicle, the 4 seats are essentially an incentive to buy as a company van/car for tax purposes. They can be very tail happy in the wet unless you select 4 wheel drive. In 4 wheel drive they actually handle quite well. I have owned all series of the Mitsubishi L200 and have never been let down.
Love your videos but I think you made a little mistake. You said this (The Ford) is the first car without discs on the backwheels but doesn't have the Cupra Born this also??!!
Ooops!!!! You get on to the A34 and set the cruise to 70mph. You have to remember that as a goods vehicle over 2000kg, the National Speed Limit is 50mph on single carriageways, 60mph on dual-carriageways and 70mph on Motorways.
I think 35 MPG is good however how about putting a ton in the back and repeating the the test we can then see how she handles and the working MPG another fantastic and interesting insight into your mad fast pace world, how you are going to find the time to train for an Ironman god knows my son has done a few wales Germany & a couple of half in USA so good luck 👍
Hi Pete sorry to be the bringer of possibly bad news, are you aware that if your pickup weighs more than 2040kg unladened you have to drive to van speed limits. Sorry chap but we have to put it out there so people don’t get nicked.
Busy week Pete, pity you had to spend it in this vehicle! Never really understood why people like these as private car? They became popular as a company motor because of the low tax at the time.
Now then Mr Peter, us agriculturalists are really quite sophisticated (thanks predictive spelling) these days. Cart wheels and leaf springs were soo last century 😀 and we were auto steering way before Tesla*. I do like a pickup, had 2 Rangers, great trucks. *(promotion warning) For your self steer correction signal contact RTKFnet 😎
Throughout the video you talk about this truck as being a commercial vehicle. Now that its been modified would anybody seriously consider this as a commercial vehicle? Would you be happy to put a real payload in the back? Really? Why would you buy the ranger and not go for a transit with a lifting bed on the back?
Sorry not for me. Not for anyone in this country either really. Whenever I see these things I always give the driver a dirty look 😂 And it always is just the driver in them. Too big for the roads & too big for car parks.
I absolutely hate those things, bloody useless on and off road and i promise you if you start using it everyday as a grafter it will break. Expensive to for what it is a pile of old tech and plastic .
Sorry for the dodgy aspect ratio on this video. I had an issue rendering the video today and ran out of time to fix it. In the end I just had to upload it as it is 😢
Run the render again and you can replace the file at its original location and not loose traffic stats etc ,
I’ve had Rangers since 2014, I love them, best spec previously were the old Thunder and Limited II but I’ve just hit the button on an MS-RT, will be with me by the end of the month, cannot wait 🥳

Nice to see you enjoying the Ranger. It's a beast but worth it for the looks. If only they did the same engines in the UK as they do for the USA...

Funny ending of the video. Great fun again to see a week's coverage or at least some moments of it. Cheers!
Love a week on the road vlog! Also love Caffeine and Machine. The Ranger looks fab with the design accents.

What an enjoyable episode. I love the real life slant ..... very very British

Just a quick one think dual carriageways are 60mph for the pickup not 70mph. You can do 70mph on the motorways only
Loving the content Amigo, slightly off field but what camera are you using on the screen in this video ??
GoPro Hero 9 👍

I used to drive a Renault Traffic for private hire and liked the elevated driving position and the ride was excellent
How is the IAM Masters training going.
Update coming soon. Test booked for October 😬

I’d go for the Trackhawk 😂
Another interesting video to watch & What's the chance of you catching Covid whilst watching Coldplay at Wembley.
Fully jabbed and boosted. Life goes on 👍
Are there any more of these on the road? Only ask as one passed me on the M1 north near Sheffield a week ago
They are a limited production run. I’ve not seen another one yet 😜😂
Does that mean it was you 🤔😉

Are you sure you’re not Irish? “What’s the craic” love it. Great content as usual. ☘️🇮🇪👍

Yep. Not bad 👍
Dont let your Masters Mentor see you 'polishing' the steering wheel!!

What type of training do you deliver ? Hope the concert was all you expected it to be, I think they’re awesome.
