Great review Pete and everything you commented on is exactly true . I actually just purchased one here in Australia a week ago , after originally going into an adjoining Honda dealership to test drive an FL5 CTR . After meandering through The Toyota forecourt, I spotted a little red GT spec GR86. Cloths seats,17 inch wheels and a little less safety tech , I was tempted into a quick test drive. 20 minutes later I was trading my 2019 FK8 CTR , signing paperwork like a wildman and driving home in one of the best drivers cars on sale ( previous Honda included) with an awesome sports car and $15,000 in my bank account to boot. Hi I am from Canada and I’m one of the very fortunate one to have the privilege of owning one of these rare cars: GR86 MT 6 speed in silver. A real head turner!!! I receive thumbs up on the road all the time…even from people with much costlier/sportier cars… My GR86 is suuuuch a blast to drive that I find excuses to hit the road even for silly reasons. Really by far the most fun car I’ve ever owned as it is so visceral and it makes you feel real connected to the road (and I had Golf GTI, Civic SI, BMW M2 among others). Not perfect, a bit noisy, could use 25-50 more bhp but Ô boy is it a treat on twisty roads. Anyway, future collectors car. Prices are already starting to significantly increase on the used market. A real gem (beautiful, fun, reliable) and a keeper.
@Tone We have plenty of twisties in the back country and mountains area around here. And wanting more power or not is entirely a subjective and personal thing. I would like more power to get slightly better acceleration. I don’t want to turn this car into a dragster (which it was not meant to be and will never become anyway) but a slight bump of 25-50 bhp in power would be welcome. It is 100% my POV as a GR86 owner. And, interestingly the vast majority of GR86’ owners tend to agree as per forums. That should lower the 0-100km/h (0-62 mph) in the 5 sec ballpark or very close to it i.e. lower 5 sec…
@@Marmf1 Doesn't matter the power threshold you will always get used to the power you have and want more...its a disease. People gotta modify shit and make more power... They are saying the new gen is equivalent to a supercharged 1st gen (basic low boost setup). I find my 23 brz linear in its power delivery. Most people should pay the damn car off first lol
Had mines for over a year now (8.4K miles) and I ring it out at every U-turn. It’s my first manual and I feel like a pro driving this thing. Most smiles per dollar. And yeah, the primacy’s in the rain will slip if you even think of pressing the pedal too hard. I’m thinking of getting a Pedal commander to adjust the throttle response and linearity cuz it’s too sensitive on touch but kinda lazy when you really gas it. I’m going to get some Continental Extreme Contact or P4S when I buy some rims, for now I’ll enjoy sliding like mad.
I'm one of the lucky few. I had a confirmed order of 11:48 so a bit later than their quoted 90 minutes. Been told delivery for Q4 2023. Can't wait! Brilliant review 👍
I didn’t find the pedal placement to be a problem though. Heel-toe isn’t an issue for me. Better interior finishes are secondary. Careful what you wish for, they tart it up and they tempt fate with comfort and weight. Keep it simple!
The extra ooomph from the 2.4 is very noticeable. It’s still no fireball, but it’s not frustrating anymore. Most cars are dynoing at 240hp stock, and given that the new model is barely any heavier than the old one, it makes a difference.
Love this! Any fool can make something more complicated than necessary; it takes genius to make it simply great! Same goes for touch screens, menus & sub menus when actual buttons and switches work better and are less distracting and annoying. Merry Christmas. (Summer here)
It's refreshing that you don't have to adjust the parameters for every aspect of the car to get the best from it. The engineers set it best during development.
Seems like Toyota and Subaru know this segment pretty well like its on the back of their hand. Except they don't make a lot of money off it so they stop making cars like these.
I am a new fan to the chanel, and when you said that you are a fan of toyota sport-coupe cars and you owned 2 Celicas, I immediately hitted the subscribe button!
Great review! Glad I am one of the lucky ones here in New Zealand, just need to wait 6 months for it to come but really looking forward to driving it Keep up the good reviews.
I went for a paddle shift auto in Ice Silver, which might seem strange for such a vehicle as a GR86. But, not only is it cheaper insurance but it has a really good gearbox, better than the manual that was reviewed on another channel (the guy went from front to back and had it on a ramp too). It was all to do with the 4th gear, which has a different and far better synchromesh than the other forward gears. I am a driver who notices everything when driving and the change in gear would have cheesed me off. On top of that, I had a Porsche Cayman that had a DRK gearbox and a paddle shift; it was exhilarating and so sweet. My Grrrr86, already named Gabriella after my late partner, will be just as enjoyable
10:50 that grin is really what tells you much of what there is to know about the car. all of us driving enthusiasts need to snap up these cars while we can !
Picked up my new GTS GR86 after waiting about 8 months here in Australia. My one complaint is that unlike my 2017 86 my new GR 86 doesn’t have satellite navigation. Apple car play was long overdue but the only maps you have is those maps on your phone. This means whenever I am out of mobile phone range, which is very regular where I live, I don’t have any sat navigation ability. I bought this car for long drives in the rural countryside in Victoria exploring coffee shops and winery’s and generally enjoying life. So after spending over $50k on my new car I need to shop for an aftermarket sat nav. Such a shame Toyota. Apparently the BRZ does have sat nav as does my sones 11 year old Suzuki swift sport. Such a cheap and basic feature left off the Toyota requirement list.
GR86 props to the history of the 86. Inspired by the original “hachi roku” AE86 & drift culture originating from Japan. Racing slow down narrow mountain passes it’s the quintessential drivers car for masses…
Tried to order one and failed. Already there are 3 on autotrader for 35K which are still tempting. But as a daily having done the GR Yaris thing think the new BMW 2 series coupe in either 230i or 220d although more expensive would make more sense as the GR86 is a weekend toy. Glad they made it though.
There's actually only a few cars i actually want to buy and realistically afford, this is one of them! Shame i probably wont be able to get one 😢 but may be one day who knows... looks awesome and its simplicity is the big positive for me, dont need alll the latest bells and whistles, its fine as it is 👍
Great review and I would really like to have a drive in one. All the points you make about it being an analogue drivers car are the reasons I still have my MX5 Recaro Sport as my only car after 4 years
Great review of an interesting car, thanks. I am torn on this one. Great that they have made an affordable drivers car but a bit sad that we are at the point where this is as good as it gets. The times they are a changing- to quote the great man!
Looks like a great car, shame they are all sold although I’m sure some will buy to immediately flip for a fast buck. I test drove the GT a few years back, loved the ride & driving experience but the interior let it down. This looks much improved. Great review 👍
I have one coming in 2 to 3 months, there are a few already being flipped for a quick buck for around £36k, is that expensive? I would say there are fair value, as mentioned, they are nailed on future classic status, tell me any other new car for £36k that you can compare? Only 430, if Porsche had a 430 run made of a light weight 911, it would be flipped at twice the RRP, don’t hesitate if you missed the 90 minute slot, Electric blue is stunning if you get a chance, they are £31k RRP in manual, so what’s £5k, they won’t lose value, you could always buy a mass produced hot hatch for £36k, let’s see what’s left of your spend in 5 years time, 50% if your lucky.
I’ve been looking forward to seeing this review and it didn’t disappoint! A Caterham like driving experience but also usable and affordable. What’s not to like? 😊 Also looking great in Magnetite grey which is the colour I changed my order to from Pearl White👍🏻
I agree with you that it is a great drivers car Pete ~ I have one here in Australia that I had delivered new last October, although it’s the Subaru BRZ. One of those cars that apparently don’t exist….. Other than that - great review
Thanks for the review Peter. I ordered mine in Bahrain Mid Nov 2022 and have to wait 8 to 9 months to get mine. Cant wait after watching only positive reviews thus far. RTV issue be gone by that time hopefully. I have to teach my wife to drive a manual though 😅
The UK has had many great cars that we were deprived of in the US. Finally a great car made it to the US and not the UK. They were rather mean about it sending you only 400 of them so you know what you are missing. I picked up my 2023 BRZ 2 weeks ago.
Evening Peter, just wanted to pretty much echo everything you've said about this car, I have owned a GT86 Areo for the past 5 odd years and puts a smile on my face every day I'm in it. Sure it's not the fastest thing on 4 wheels and maybe the interior lacks some of the modern day creature comforts of modern day cars, but it screams JAP!!! and maybe that's not for everyone, but for smiles per mile it takes some beating. Merry Christmas all.
I was all set to try and get one of these, such a pity they aren't making enough. The silver lining, I managed to get a GR Yaris - no regrets. I'm planning to be buried in it.
Was on the golf course when first announced and thought I'd leave it until I finished my round. Silly boy! Got an email from Toyota today as was placed on waiting list...Deposit paid...yipee
Great review Ped, it's alot of car for the money, putting more gadgets and electronics etc would only add to the price/ weight and possibly not make it any better, maybe worst?? Much like you have said, it will be a legend in its own lunch time😉 If anything, putting Brembo calipers on would be a great mod. My Legacy came with Brembos from factory, they are so much better than standard brakes👍 Have a merry Christmas and a happy New year 🎄😀
Nice car and a great review. Analog rather than digital driving.Real old school.Merry xmas Mr & Mrs P. Have a great time and a very merry xmas to all the Peddlerz.
I just saw this Grey one on friday. I live all blacked out, want a more livable color maintenance wise so of course I love this. It looked amazing. Stuck on this or red.
I think you're correct, if it had a turbo it would just be an Impreza with a different cost on. It would also need 4wd to handle the extra power. Good looking jam jar though! 💪😎
It needed the G16E from the GR Yaris and AWD - problem would be then that it would over shadow the Supra. Its the entry level GR product so corners had to be cut to keep it as such
Love my gr86! Not the fastest on the road but that's not what it was designed for. Love taking corners even on the stock suspension. It rips! I could go on lol...
Really enjoyed your review of of the GR ,very very few available in my area Downunder and Subaru not supplying BRZ either , btw great roads and scenery , which area of England were you driving ? Cheers
Funny. Low on electric gizmos, that is the best thing of it. My turbo miata even does not have steering assistance, airbags, abs or whatever. That, is called a car. I even put it on small wheels for max perversity. I can do drifts everywhere way below the speedlimit. That is why i own it for 25 years too. Wish i could afford a gr86
Fantastic review Peter. What a really great looking car and definitely a refreshing change to see such a car and how driver oriented it is and with its simplicity. Good to see some tail end action. Like you say, such a real pity you can’t get a hold of one. Would be great to see one with you behind the wheel on track 😉👌🏻👍🏻
@@PetrolPed maybe there is a aftermarket to add hydrallic steering to better feel how close to limit og grip front wheels are at , and for smooth turning , steady and minimum braking, for longveity of tires, brakes, fuel, oil, (and battery if it was a hybrd or electric car) etc? maybe such thing could work for cars around 3500 lbs to have it fit to most cars? 2023 prius weighs around 3000 lbs and lotus evora emira weights lot more , with communicative hydrallic steering
@@PetrolPed also pedals that push back more the more you push into them, that makes it easier to hold pedal position especially on long drives and incentivises thinking twice about ovre powering and over braking. about driving for effeincy theres also building more momentum downhills and before uphills and not changn speed too quick. overall, a fun way of driving even if you decide to change sped quick sometimes, or drive at higher maintained speed

I know your very good with facts Peter but just one thing I don't like to sound critical but there is a Subaru equivalent in other parts of the world but they decided not to bring to Europe or I should say at least to the UK. Have a great Christmas 🎄 and as usual keep up the great work your one of the best you tubers 👍
I spent all day waiting for this content just to see your take on the BRZ/ GR86, and yes you delivered. I love sports car with a quirk such as the naturally aspirated Boxster engine coupled onto a manual tranny, giving it more power is the icing on the cake. This is a back to basic sports car how it used to be done in the golden years of sports cars of the 1990s to 2010ish before computers aided driving took over the driving of vehicles. Nice car front and back!
Its been said... It's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow. I suspect that beyond the car being sold out in 90 minutes, they'll be available 5 minutes after delivery by car flippers. And some of those 90 minute buyers were dealers themselves who will put a premium on them.
Absolutely great review spot on in what you're saying about the car totally. It's a definite must have car, unfortunately will have to be second hand to buy once there on the market. I've also had the celica gen 5 with pop up headlights again I loved that car. Best wish and merry Christmas to you and your family.🙂🙂🙂🎄🎄🎄
Great review Pete, although I'm not convinced by the GT86, well under powered, no tech and for £30k I'd rather have a Megane RS , if I was looking for a hot hatch drivers car.
Great video love this car A Toyota MX5 . Toyota should make more of these they will sell like hot cakes for the next two years , shame they are going to do this
Love everything about it and enough tech already. If It was down to me car manufacturers would be free to produce these sort of cars for as long as. We don't need the Nanny state.
Sad bunny that I am the properly designed and engineered boot hinge mechanism caught my. The GR86 has not looked right in photos in my view. Seeing it in the video has changed my mind.
Subaru do make the new BRZ -available in other countries. I have one on order in Australia. The distributors in UK have made a huge mistake limiting your market availability.
Subaru is virtually a non-existent brand now in the UK so new model's will not come along here. Since they stopped making the Impreza they've lost the small market share they had here - the same is the case with Mitsubishi
Merry Christmas Pete Maybe Santa might drop one under my tree. If only I believed in Santa LOL. I bet Aus will struggle to get access large numbers of these also. MSRP AUD$43,240 + On road costs as each state here has differing Stamp duty and rego fees. Probably going to see wait list > 6 month or more. I guess as many makes here - dealers just don't have stocks. Still global supply chain issues.
I looked at a BRZ in May 23, drove one it November and ordered it in December, it’s arrived and pick it up now in February 24. $5k less money than the Toyota.
Nice ride and I’m a big Toyota fan too Pete !! I really like the simple layout, but prob and age thing 😂 I remember working at a Toyota dealer in the hay days of late 80’s early 90’s Supras , MR2 and Celicas !!! Had a lot of fun ripping them around in my teens 👍🏻
Hello my friend, typical euro legislator getting its snout in yet again! Honestly, they would have us all in Bamboo pedal cars, I’m sure of it. Always loved my Mk3 Supra. This is a fun lil scout. Has a lil bit of the GTO back end. 👍👍👍🤜🤛🇬🇧
Just found this review. As a gt86 owner its kinda wierd with all the low power comments it got that you are having most fun in this safely drifting it about at low speeds. Don't get me wrong, the extra power in the GR is literally going to be a blast, but in truth the GT will deliver about 95% of the fun as the GR. With regard to sidewiseness, in winter I have had the GT sideways on a dual caridgeway at the side of an HGV after simply pulling out from behind it in wet and low temperature conditions. The skinny Primacy tires are just lethal in the lowly powered sibling... since those experiences I run it on cross climates which allows for an absolute blast in British winters and fiendishly capable in the snow compared to anything running summer tyres. If I had a GR, winter/cross climates would be my first choice mod simply to keep it on the road. In terms of handling, how did you think it handled when not blipping the accelerator to stick the back end out?
I have to say having owned a gt86 for over 5 years, the GR is an improvement in every conceivable way. There is now useful low end grunt while retaining power at the top of the rev range. A bonus is the fuel economy seems about the same :)
2:45 Its wrong to say it will only be made until 2024. Its literally NOT the last of its breed. These cars are produced in Japan and they have no intentions of discontinuing this model for at least 2 more years (probably more like 4-6 more years) Subaru is discontinuing the BRZ for lineup reasons. Toyota has already announced a 2025 model gr86 and has eluded to the 2026 gr86 being the first of a new generation (possibly using the corolla gr 3 cylinder motor). I know this is an old video, but half of this info was available at the time of release.
I know it will have been said dozens of times before..I'm currently driving the non-existing Subaru version of this..For more cedibility, you might have mentioned this - or that the BRZ in particular is not available in your market....An Aussie MY2023 BRZ driver..
I have never driven a rear wheel car and I have owned over twenty cars and driven at least twenty others but always front or four wheel drive. I think I would need a track day to learn a new skill but to own a car that you know where the limit is and can take it just a little over is one of the greatest joys of a Petrol head in my opinion. It is funny that sometimes the car that gives the most fun is not the most expensive or most powerful but is just "sorted". That being said that looked a lot of fun but it would be the Yaris for me.
Among the last 'real' cars you could have bought new... and just the medicine for somebody who grew up on V6 Capris [like me :)] Are the seats Alcantara - which is even better news if they are.

My GR86 is suuuuch a blast to drive that I find excuses to hit the road even for silly reasons.
👍
Your roads are not twisty enough to be wanting more power
Amazing!
I can’t help but see ‘Vauxhall insignia’ when looking at the back end! 😮
Yes first thing I was t sure not about. A more sleek minimalist treatment would have been better. It would also represent what the car is about.
I didn’t find the pedal placement to be a problem though. Heel-toe isn’t an issue for me. Better interior finishes are secondary. Careful what you wish for, they tart it up and they tempt fate with comfort and weight. Keep it simple!
I had a GT86 TRD I loved it the lack of power never bothered me as the way it felt to drive was all I needed it's a shame they did not make more
The extra ooomph from the 2.4 is very noticeable. It’s still no fireball, but it’s not frustrating anymore. Most cars are dynoing at 240hp stock, and given that the new model is barely any heavier than the old one, it makes a difference.
@@richardhoulton4016 some people dynoed the old car and this one togethee and got 40-50 whp more, so its a huge difference and perfect
Love this! Any fool can make something more complicated than necessary; it takes genius to make it simply great! Same goes for touch screens, menus & sub menus when actual buttons and switches work better and are less distracting and annoying. Merry Christmas. (Summer here)
Absolutely!
It's refreshing that you don't have to adjust the parameters for every aspect of the car to get the best from it. The engineers set it best during development.
Yep 👍
Seems like Toyota and Subaru know this segment pretty well like its on the back of their hand. Except they don't make a lot of money off it so they stop making cars like these.
I am a new fan to the chanel, and when you said that you are a fan of toyota sport-coupe cars and you owned 2 Celicas, I immediately hitted the subscribe button!
Great to hear. Thanks for the Sub and welcome to the channel 👍
Great review!
Glad I am one of the lucky ones here in New Zealand, just need to wait 6 months for it to come but really looking forward to driving it
Keep up the good reviews.
Hope you enjoy it!
This car is brilliant! I dont want a phone on wheels with a hair dryer engine and turbo..... I want a car. Love it great channel❤❤
Thanks for watching!
Great review as always just such a pity most GT86 owners didn't get a real chance to buy one 😕 😞
😢
Nah, I'm sure later on there will be some good BRZ around in the used car market. Just make sure you got a garage ready for it.
10:50 that grin is really what tells you much of what there is to know about the car.
all of us driving enthusiasts need to snap up these cars while we can !
We sure do 👍
Picked up my new GTS GR86 after waiting about 8 months here in Australia.
You can literally download the map of all of Australia on your iPhone.
Excellent review, I love mine, sucks that you guys across the pond can't get them.
Thanks 🙏🏻
Hello! I hope you’re still enjoying your GR86. I just bought one and it’s amazing. I hope there is an update video.
This was a press car. Sadly I only had it for a week. Glad you are enjoying yours 👍
All the points you make about it being an analogue drivers car are the reasons I still have my MX5 Recaro Sport as my only car after 4 years
Nice 👌
Great review of an interesting car, thanks. I am torn on this one. Great that they have made an affordable drivers car but a bit sad that we are at the point where this is as good as it gets. The times they are a changing- to quote the great man!
Yeah. A part of me is dying inside too 😢
Looks like a great car, shame they are all sold although I’m sure some will buy to immediately flip for a fast buck. I test drove the GT a few years back, loved the ride & driving experience but the interior let it down. This looks much improved.
Great review 👍
Thanks 🙏🏻
Love my 23 white limited BRZ manual! Had to order one
Nice!!
I’ve been looking forward to seeing this review and it didn’t disappoint! A Caterham like driving experience but also usable and affordable. What’s not to like? 😊
Also looking great in Magnetite grey which is the colour I changed my order to from Pearl White👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
I agree with you that it is a great drivers car Pete ~ I have one here in Australia that I had delivered new last October, although it’s the Subaru BRZ. One of those cars that apparently don’t exist….. Other than that - great review
We don’t get those in the UK 👎
Thanks for the review Peter. I ordered mine in Bahrain Mid Nov 2022 and have to wait 8 to 9 months to get mine. Cant wait after watching only positive reviews thus far. RTV issue be gone by that time hopefully. I have to teach my wife to drive a manual though 😅
Have fun!
First!! Evening all!! Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas time and a very Happy New Year.
Thank you very much, you too.
Same to you!
I have been looking forward to watching the Video Review. I also knew that all the Models available were all sold out 😊
Hope you enjoy it!
Auto has sport and snow mode + front camera ect love it
Mature review , well done Peter
Thanks mate and Happy Christmas 🎄
Merry Christmas!
👍
I was all set to try and get one of these, such a pity they aren't making enough. The silver lining, I managed to get a GR Yaris - no regrets. I'm planning to be buried in it.
Bummer 😜👍
Was on the golf course when first announced and thought I'd leave it until I finished my round. Silly boy!
Got an email from Toyota today as was placed on waiting list...Deposit paid...yipee
Oh congrats 👍
Great review Ped, it's alot of car for the money, putting more gadgets and electronics etc would only add to the price/ weight and possibly not make it any better, maybe worst??
Much like you have said, it will be a legend in its own lunch time😉
If anything, putting Brembo calipers on would be a great mod. My Legacy came with Brembos from factory, they are so much better than standard brakes👍
Have a merry Christmas and a happy New year 🎄😀
Nice car and a great review. Analog rather than digital driving.Real old school.Merry xmas Mr & Mrs P. Have a great time and a very merry xmas to all the Peddlerz.
Thanks, you too!
I just saw this Grey one on friday. I live all blacked out, want a more livable color maintenance wise so of course I love this.
It looked amazing. Stuck on this or red.
Good choice!
Great review, there is a Subaru BRZ for this generation it's just not being sold in Europe
Indeed 👍
I *should* have mine by mid-February. My Toyota app says it's left the factory in Japan . . . can't wait
Exciting 😬👍
I think you're correct, if it had a turbo it would just be an Impreza with a different cost on. It would also need 4wd to handle the extra power. Good looking jam jar though! 💪😎
👍
It needed the G16E from the GR Yaris and AWD - problem would be then that it would over shadow the Supra. Its the entry level GR product so corners had to be cut to keep it as such
Love my gr86! Not the fastest on the road but that's not what it was designed for. Love taking corners even on the stock suspension. It rips! I could go on lol...
Couldn't agree more!
I've seen a couple of reviewers say this a Toyota only platform now, but Subaru still sell their version as the BRZ in other markets...
Really enjoyed your review of of the GR ,very very few available in my area Downunder and Subaru not supplying BRZ either , btw great roads and scenery , which area of England were you driving ? Cheers
I live in West Sussex 👍
@@PetrolPedaround Goodwood, seen you about. Run my 131 Fiat on rally stage yearly, pop up for a spin!! John Bloxham car
That put a smile on your face, Pete! On mine too ! Merry Christmas to you & Mrs Petrol Ped! Cheers, Tom
Same to you!
I agree about the brakes…they aren’t as effective as I would expect for a sport’s car.
That should have happened earlier this year but my flight was cancelled 😢
@@PetrolPed ah, I see 🥹
@@PetrolPed maybe there is a aftermarket to add hydrallic steering to better feel how close to limit og grip front wheels are at , and for smooth turning , steady and minimum braking, for longveity of tires, brakes, fuel, oil, (and battery if it was a hybrd or electric car) etc? maybe such thing could work for cars around 3500 lbs to have it fit to most cars? 2023 prius weighs around 3000 lbs and lotus evora emira weights lot more , with communicative hydrallic steering
@@PetrolPed also pedals that push back more the more you push into them, that makes it easier to hold pedal position especially on long drives and incentivises thinking twice about ovre powering and over braking. about driving for effeincy theres also building more momentum downhills and before uphills and not changn speed too quick. overall, a fun way of driving even if you decide to change sped quick sometimes, or drive at higher maintained speed
ccan think of it as racing , avoiding pitstops and fuel stops
My 2023 gr86 has a sport mode and snow mode 🤔 including the track setting
Great review I almost went for ordering one of these in red but misted the boat 🚢 🙃 and there only one way the prices will stay high as there the very last of a breed.
Thanks Nick. Yeah I should have been more clear with that 👍
You made a statement about a manual drivers license, are there separate licenses for both? Looks fun.
Yes in the UK you can do an Auto only test or a manual test which you can then drive both 👍
I spent all day waiting for this content just to see your take on the BRZ/ GR86, and yes you delivered.
👍
Its been said... It's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow.
I suspect that beyond the car being sold out in 90 minutes, they'll be available 5 minutes after delivery by car flippers. And some of those 90 minute buyers were dealers themselves who will put a premium on them.
Good point 👍
Hi Peter. A very Merry Christmas to you, Tracy, and the pups. (D'Arcy and Halle?). Have a great New Year and enjoy your well deserved holiday.
Same to you!
Thanks for watching!
like you said. this is a drivers car. and good to see that car company still think about the true drivers. the people that are real petrol heads
Yep 👍
@@PetrolPed but to bad dont make a lot off them. Hope in future we still have this
Merry Christmas ped. Thank you for your epic videos
Happy Christmas to you too my friend. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻🎄
Great review Pete, although I'm not convinced by the GT86, well under powered, no tech and for £30k I'd rather have a Megane RS , if I was looking for a hot hatch drivers car.
Excellent video 📹
The clever people bought the batch.
Thanks 👍
Peter, oh yes you can. I have just bought one and it is on the way from Japan
Nice 👌
My once £90k SL R129
Had silver brake callipers (hammerite)
That’s not a down mark, did they stop the car?
Great Car 🚙
HaPpY Christmas 🎄
Well Pete just watching this road test would you swap it for your Boxster ? Cheers Ian
No 😜😂
Great video love this car
A Toyota MX5 . Toyota should make more of these they will sell like hot cakes for the next two years , shame they are going to do this
They are making as many as they can 👍
Man that’s sound great a seam to have as much power as needed with those wheels look a blast!!
It is!
Love everything about it and enough tech already. If It was down to me car manufacturers would be free to produce these sort of cars for as long as. We don't need the Nanny state.
Yeah they pretend it’s all for our good. There is also an agenda.
Sad bunny that I am the properly designed and engineered boot hinge mechanism caught my.
The GR86 has not looked right in photos in my view. Seeing it in the video has changed my mind.
Great 👍
Did it need some new rear tyres after filming this? I would love to own one, doubt my wife would be impressed though
😂😂😂
Thank you, for your brillants videos all the year. Merry Chrismas and HNY!
Amam from Hungary! A very happy Gr Yaris Owner
Same to you!
Merry Christmas Pete
Maybe Santa might drop one under my tree.
And the same to you mate 🎄
I looked at a BRZ in May 23, drove one it November and ordered it in December, it’s arrived and pick it up now in February 24. $5k less money than the Toyota.
Nice ride and I’m a big Toyota fan too Pete !! I really like the simple layout, but prob and age thing 😂 I remember working at a Toyota dealer in the hay days of late 80’s early 90’s Supras , MR2 and Celicas !!! Had a lot of fun ripping them around in my teens 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Hello my friend, typical euro legislator getting its snout in yet again! Honestly, they would have us all in Bamboo pedal cars, I’m sure of it. Always loved my Mk3 Supra. This is a fun lil scout. Has a lil bit of the GTO back end. 👍👍👍🤜🤛🇬🇧
You got that right!
2:45
Its wrong to say it will only be made until 2024.
Its literally NOT the last of its breed.
These cars are produced in Japan and they have no intentions of discontinuing this model for at least 2 more years (probably more like 4-6 more years)
Subaru is discontinuing the BRZ for lineup reasons. Toyota has already announced a 2025 model gr86 and has eluded to the 2026 gr86 being the first of a new generation (possibly using the corolla gr 3 cylinder motor).
I know this is an old video, but half of this info was available at the time of release.
What would you choose between a GR Yaris and a GR86 for an average person who is interested in driving
Have a great time with Your beloved ones and a very happy new year, matey!
Same to you!
@@PetrolPed Thanks a lot! :-)
I know it will have been said dozens of times before..I'm currently driving the non-existing Subaru version of this..For more cedibility, you might have mentioned this - or that the BRZ in particular is not available in your market....An Aussie MY2023 BRZ driver..
I agree. I should have added ‘in the UK’ to be correct. My bad 😬
Hi Pete, do you think it need Quaife ATB to make it more fun?
It has a Limited Slip Diff 👍
Turning traction control off doesn’t disable traction control completely off.
A year later comment, but you CAN actually buy one . . . there are at least two still in their transport stickers at my local dealers near Darlington
I just reserved one, it's used but like new with only 800 miles mileage and was owned by Toyota and used for test driving and showing purpose only.
Try a real wheel drive but be careful! And beware: it's addictive.
My last three cars have been two Holden V8’s and now a Ford V8 .... rear drive is so much fun! It’s twenty years since I’ve owned a fwd car.
Pete I don’t remember that manoeuvre on your advance driving lessons😅
😂😂😂
Among the last 'real' cars you could have bought new... and just the medicine for somebody who grew up on V6 Capris [like me :)] Are the seats Alcantara - which is even better news if they are.
Ah yes...I had a V6 Capri too...great fun, looked sexy.
Simples is best😂 Great value motor, pity it’s such a low volume run 😡 great review Ped👍
Thanks 👍
