There are way too many and it will probably be the demise of many apps. I really just find myself getting frustrated and going to live antenna tv or Pluto.
It's ways to manage what you want to watch and where to find it but you have to want to use the apps like Just Watch, Reelgood and so on that help you keep track of the TV shows and movies. Yes, a little frustrating but workable.😊
Would be interesting to see a similar video with what's decent on Chromecast boxes/dongles - I didn't even think to look for a Roku channel on the app store but will here this evening.... one thing is for certain on most of the free channels is you'll really have to be patient with all of the ads - it gets too much for me unless I just want something on in the background - seems even more than regular OTA network TV....
What are all of the ad supported apps that Shield TV support? If you know. Great publication, by the way. When C band satellite was in its prime, I was the go-to guy for anything new and hidden gems. Keep up the great work.
One I would have on top of those is stream on a budget showcase. This is the leader in independent channels. Meaning that the channel State list are not owned by big companies. Probably one of my favorites on here is cartoon blast. This is a channel that specializes in 80s cartoons but they also do have older. cartoons.
Just saw this comment about my StreamOnABudget Showcase app on Roku. For the record, I am not lobbying to be on Luke's future Top 10 (I left a comment with some other greatly recommended apps on Roku), but I appreciate that my app is being recognized. In support of Indie broadcasters, content creators and app developers, thank you Jon!
@@StreamOnABudget well the thing is I kind of had to because I would have just said cartoon blast but I realize not everyone is as big of 80s cartoon fan as I am and I do realize you have a lot of other types of channels that people really like but just might not be aware exist.
Thanks so much for mentioning the stream on a budget app!.....Like we say here in New England "it's wicked awesome"!......Tons of stuff to pick from. Thanks again.....(from a 75 year old Vietnam veteran......Danang 1970/1971)..... peace ✌️
Hopefully Roku will finally release their app for the Apple TV. For now I’ll just stream cast it from my iPhone or use my Firestick to watch The Roku Channel 📺
As far as free about the only channels I watch in addition to some you mentioned are the CW and since I'm originally from the Chicago area occasionally I'll watch WGN (local news).
Ive noticed channels disappearing from Roku TV with no explanation. For example the Bloomberg channel disappeared, and then yesterday afternoon NBC Now did too. Whats going on ?
Can you help me with the USB on my Roku TV? I have an antenna but my Roku TV doesn't have a USB icon when I go to the media player. There is a USB port on the back of the TV though. I can' figure it out. I attach the antenna but can't find it anywhere on the tv. Thanks in advance. I love your channel.
I don't watch reruns. And agree the searching usually sucks. Sometimes a series will start on Netflix and the next season it will switch to Paramount+ as an example. I hate that! Or they will run only half a season and the second half many months later.
Wow have I aged. I was curious and looked up the Walton's cast and the little kids are in the 60s and in their 70s and unfortunately many have since passed away. We have incredibly short lives. 😢
on the contrary, I dont think there is enough decent original new content out there to satiate the viewers who switch from cable to streaming. Although to an extent you may be right as well. I do not watch TV that much and the real users of the service are my mom and the grandkids. Both have their narrow niche of programming they enjoy which makes narrowing down app and content management to really the same efforts as my wife and I would put into with traditional cable TV, without having to pay the traditional TV costs.
That`s why I keep watching reruns from the 50`s and 60`s instead. I could watch the half hour reruns of Gunsmoke till the cows come home. Of course my brains are turning to mush but who cares at my age.
Why did you only mention that these are available on the Roku? Each of these are easily installed on the Firestick. I think your headline and presentation is disingenuous.
Yes, the Roku Channel has a lot of content but the content is trash. Who actually watches those shows compared to the new content on many streaming services you pay for?
Good thing don't deal with this F*n grandpa device Roku or Fire he always advertise..I'm 4K/ Chromecast TV Dongle guy on all my 3 TVS & lovin it, since they released it few years back & I changed up , specially if u TH-cam TV user & a Google/Android Person is the BEST to work with💥🔥👍🙌
LOL, given how invested you are on your channel, and generally, how good your information is. I doubt very strongly, that you spend ANY time watching any of the crap that is on these channels. (Rifleman, leave it for beaver? I dream of jeannie? ) they were OK 50 years a go. Now? just cringe worthy.) Instead of using your valuable time on any of them, go do something productive, like watch a YT video on something that interests you, or perhaps read a book.
You obviously have no clue what these streamers are doing, if you did, you would realize old legacy and classic programming is just a small fraction of what they offer. They offer it, because people want it, and they can still make money from it.

I hope you enjoy this video. I will be back on January 2nd with our regular Cord Cutting Today videos.
Thank you Cord Cutters News.
I think the plethora of options has driven me to watch less TV. The search for content sometimes isn’t worth the result
Bingo. IT can be frustrating to search for something. Sometimes I just turn the TV off and pick up a book.
There are way too many and it will probably be the demise of many apps. I really just find myself getting frustrated and going to live antenna tv or Pluto.
I’ve been listening to music more.

It takes longer to find something to watch than it does to actually watch the show.
Thanks for providing us with all the tv options. I look forward to trying them.
Luke thank you for all your videos in 2023. I watch each episode every day. It's the first video I go to on my daily list of must watch videos.
Thanks for the support

Love these types of videos!
Great tips...thanks!
Dark Shadows on Tubi is great.

Does Cord cutters news have a video planed for how to get amazon tv to get apple tv +?

I'm still not convinced to change to Roku. I'm sticking with my 4K FireTV

But you live forever on the other side.
@@snave59 .. living forever is just as bad.
Sadly, my Roku tv has aged very poorly. It struggles to even run the operating system. I use a mini pc and a Fire 4k cube connected to it instead.
When will freevee be available in canada
When you add a vpn
Hi
Angel Studios
Still waiting for roku channel to come to xbox
Peacock channel
Like Roku
I'll ask again, lock focus, lock iris. Please.
No more youtube in the current roku.
I mean who wants to watch the NBA G league instead of the regular NBA?
Everything is proven you putting out more on internet than you do with vhs movie's everything is proven vhs tapes are taking over
Think people have way too much time on their hands to keep watching all these old TV shows from the 70's, 80;s and 90's.
