Felt like a high price to me as well, but after looking at them locally for over 6 months this was the lowest mileage and best condition I could find. I almost bought a 2012 with 89K miles for $22,000 but the dealer wouldn’t budge any lower on that price and I just felt that one was priced a few grand too high for what it was.. I would say you got a pretty fair price on yours with only 29K miles! I’ve seen a few on Carvana with that low of mileage go for $23,000-$25,000. Wish I would have started looking at these a few years ago, probably could have gotten the same thing for more like $14,000-$17,000 but the market just keeps climbing..
I bought an 07 in 2014 with 48,000 Mi on it. In 2022 it has 90,000 miles on it so far I've changed the tires and oil. And the battery. That's it. This is probably my last car LOL.
I even liked my samurai. It used to go right through the sand while all the other heavy SUV'S would be stuck in the sand for a long time! I had lots of fun in the mud with that tin can!
Testing the off-road capability of crossovers is dumb. They are built for the road and to be versatile daily drivers that excel better than a car in wet or snow conditions on the road. My 2011 V6 RAV4 sport drives like new at 160K miles. Its a thrill to drive and was paid off 5 years ago and needs next to nothing. In the long run Toyota’s allow you to be wealthy and stay that way. So there is no competition as to which is best unless you like spending 2 to 3 times more for transportation. Over the past 20 years owning Toyota’s allowed me to buy a motorhome and and old Celica convertible. I got five cars, 4 Toyota’s, 1 motorhome and zero debt.
Rav4 V6 is deceptively quick. the 5 speed auto is smooth and effortless. When the dial hits 4,000 revs, it turns into a super Beast. Good Job Toyota. (Owned one since 2010 - 145,000km on the clock)
I mean for the first trail being "the toughest in Colorado" its a shame an SX4 can make it so far up that hill, what do those guys use as off-road there Chevy Malibus?
Subaru 2013 XV crosstrek ftw!!! i driven it across the country for a road trip. on road off road, rain, snow, mud, handles like a pro. Best 24k I ever spent on a car.

If I could figure out how to send you a video we mad one for the adventure
Never once, not once, mentioned THE most important off roadability factor cup holders ... No, not cup holders, CLEARANCE. A two wheel drive with plenty of clearance will simply spank the pants off a lot of all wheel drives in off road conditions. I lived in the empty quarter of Arabia, monstrous sand dunes. I'll never forget the sight of a Datsun 1.8 litre two wheel drive pickup cruising past a Landcruiser 'Sahara' bogged up to its axles. Superior clearance, oh, and knowing how to drive off road helps.
+Hannah Tex i have a 2013 rav and it does great for what it is. had a wrangler but had to get something more family friendly. nice compromise. its like the honey badger in the snow.
I have the 2011 sx4 crossover. I live where the curves are like the Dragon's Tail. This is a fun car to drive corners at unrealistic speeds and grabs the road with cat claws. I have gotten no snow worth mentioning this year but was wanting to play. The sx4 is a bit over powered. It uses a bit of gas and has a small tank. but this car is real fun. I usually get 0 to 60 in less than 10 secs and never got that in my 3.4L toyota tacoma 4wd. I love the crossover.
I have Yet to understand exactly what you mean by the Subaru is the car you drive and the RAV4 is the one you ride in. I also can't understand what is meant by what you said about one being fun and the other not..I'm sure you don't mean drag racing and I also know neither will do heavy off-roading. What's wrong with the steering in the RAV4? I've owned a 2007 and currently own a 2010. Both V6 SPORT models, AWD..I can't feel anything different about the steering other than the wider, low pro tires are huggy to the road..personally, I like the RAV4's look better than the Forester. Everyone has an opinion.
It means the Toyota is O.K. to get from A to B. The Subaru will obviously do that, but is considered more of a driver's car (for people that actually love to drive). I believe that you need a manual shift for control and performance. The Forester can be had with a 6 speed manual.
Why does almost every moment of this (and videos like it) filled with irritating, jangly, amateurish music? Also, not sure they know the meaning of the word "quirk". I would hope that safety, dependability and roominess are not "quirks".
***** I agree. In this case, less is more. No music would mean I could more easily hear the commentary. Plus, no music means nobody has to be annoyed by a musical style not to their taste. A little intro, a little outro and you're good.
I have the RAV4 I agree with the steering there is something about it that doesn't seem right or engaging. Toyota nailed the steering with the 2016 corolla though. that corolla made me look like I was an excellent smooth driver. the RAV4 makes me feel like I'm too rough with it.

We just bought a red 2011 v6 4wd rav4 with only 29k miles. Single owner car. Super excited to own this car.
That’s awesome! Sounds like a great find! I recently bought a pyrite Micah 2011 RAV4 V6 Limited 4WD with only 58K miles. Super excited about it!
@@AMF96 What did you pay if you dont mind me asking? We paid $19,990 sticker price on 12/7/21. Felt like a high price. I followed the market for about 6 months however and felt that low mileage may not come around again.
@@nocigar7730 I ended up paying about $19,600 out the door. Felt like a high price to me as well, but after looking at them locally for over 6 months this was the lowest mileage and best condition I could find. It was really hard for me to find one locally with under 100K miles.
I hate that the Suzuki's are no longer sold in the USA.
+Tom Nelson when did they stop selling it?
+Taytoni Several years ago in the USA.
I even liked my samurai. It used to go right through the sand while all the other heavy SUV'S would be stuck in the sand for a long time! I had lots of fun in the mud with that tin can!
I just bought a 2012 Grand Vitara Limited 4WD. I love it. Im glad parts are still readily available.
i just got a 2009 sx4 with a 5 speed and its tons of fun, how did they go out of business in the usa? the cars are awesome
please make an updated version of this video!
I just love the SX4, actually saving money for mine ;)
Did you buy the sx4?
Did you get it?
2018? Still watching
Still watching now that I can afford one
Try 2019.
No try not to dont trust there reviews
Rav4 V6 is deceptively quick. the 5 speed auto is smooth and effortless. When the dial hits 4,000 revs, it turns into a super Beast. Good Job Toyota. (Owned one since 2010 - 145,000km on the clock)
+John Smith you have led a sheletered life if you think a rav 4 is a super beast
+Paul S do you know any other mid sized SUV with that kind of power for the price. only the XT comes close and that uses premium ulp.
+John Smith It's not quick, if anything japanese NA V6s are slow on the top end.
I disagree.
The 2006-2012 RAV4 look is timeless.
Only one I still see daily on the road.
I will buy 2007 or 2008 rav4 soon it's trolly legend car even after this many years
Absolutely!
Watching in FEB 2022. Mom had a new 2011 Tiguan. As stated in the video, car died after 7 years. Had engine issues and was dead in Oct 2018.
I mean for the first trail being "the toughest in Colorado" its a shame an SX4 can make it so far up that hill, what do those guys use as off-road there Chevy Malibus?
BKamron do you know the trail be chance?
Why is it a shame Cockron?
Awesome to see how much this channel has grown.
whos still watching this in 2017

Hey these cars are used now, this is more relevant to me than the new ones...
Subaru 2013 XV crosstrek ftw!!! i driven it across the country for a road trip. on road off road, rain, snow, mud, handles like a pro. Best 24k I ever spent on a car.
i had a compass as a rental car. it embodies all that is wrong in the world
I like the "and I have no gun". Makes me grin everytime you say it. In the older, and the newer Videos.
Could TFL do more of these comparisons of SUVs and or CUVs for 2018?
Cool, thanks you helped me make my decision. Always nice to see a brand new video fresh from TFL studios.
go the rav4 I got are 1995 toyta rav 4 and its 2000cc 3 door and it goes off road good and rav4 are the bset
My 2005 3.5 v6 awd Hyundai Santa fe will out perform all. Granted I have mud terrain tires on it, but nothing stops it. I out performed my friends 2015 wrangler that had the same tires just a size bigger. I love my car. Should definitely test mine out. If I could figure out how to send you a video we mad one for the adventure
The Suzuki SX4 is a beast.
Dont listen to any of these bad comments! You guys are great! Your videos are entertaining and very informational! keep it up guys!

"This engine is fast and this car is powerful"
I think he meant the engine is powerful and the car is fast LOL
2011 V6 4x4 Rav4 steering was just fine it effortlessly tears around corners, the new ravs only have 4 cylinders
Remember kiddies, just because they can, doesn't mean they should. *Insert Jeff Goldblum quote from Jurassic Park*
Or jrasick
Never once, not once, mentioned THE most important off roadability factor cup holders ...
No, not cup holders, CLEARANCE.
A two wheel drive with plenty of clearance will simply spank the pants off a lot of all wheel drives in off road conditions.
I lived in the empty quarter of Arabia, monstrous sand dunes. I'll never forget the sight of a Datsun 1.8 litre two wheel drive pickup cruising past a Landcruiser 'Sahara' bogged up to its axles.
Superior clearance, oh, and knowing how to drive off road helps.
I was watching to see which would be better off-road. No information.
Pre-2013 Ford Escape(s) 4x4 And 4wd Models Are Small And Are Medium Grade Off-Roaders
@yoelsd Sorry, I'm not the best at doing quick math in my head while driving 111 MPH (as you correctly wrote) on the German Autobahn.
Could you do a 2015 Toyota rav4 XLE
Video
How do yall think a 2010 V4 4WD RAV4 would do off road??
More importantly how would it do in snow??
+Hannah Tex amazing
+Hannah Tex i have a 2013 rav and it does great for what it is. had a wrangler but had to get something more family friendly. nice compromise. its like the honey badger in the snow.
In snow you need tires for rav 4, for small incline off road it will be easy on rav4 stock
Hello from the futur✌️😂
2019.....
@Windows 98 lol
2020...
I just bought a 2010 rav4 limited. Runs great and I’ll bet it last much longer than the others if they’re even still on the road
The Subaru will still be on the road for sure
The Forester can be had with a 6 speed manual.
you didn't do any offloading in the tiguan, how then can you rate it in this comparison ?

Good ole recommendations. All of them would do better with AT tires honestly though that's a HUGE deal
You guys were of a different rodeo back then.. 2011 & 2014 were damn near golden years for TFL..
rav 4 is the best looking one
...and that's really important when in tall snow........
one of the suv reviews that i like, not some sterile opinions about how well or not is doing on the streets
5* for the little Suzuki! damn im surprised
I have the RAV4 I agree with the steering there is something about it that doesn't seem right or engaging. Toyota nailed the steering with the 2016 corolla though. that corolla made me look like I was an excellent smooth driver. the RAV4 makes me feel like I'm too rough with it.
100% disagree the 3gen rav4 is way better looking than any other gen except maybe 5.
this is a practical car review, i mean both the idea and the style, thanks guys
i like. the vw tiguan but. i need. more. cow bell....🔔
As I read it. The voice of Christopher walkin was speaking
after 11 years rav4 still gold car to buy today .
Only small car in this review was the Suzuki, the rest was at least mid-sized cars.
*****
A chevy suburban is a big car.
This video probably came out right around the time I absolutely sunk my dad's 3rd gen explorer in mud 😂 I had no idea the SX4 was as offorady as it was. Who the hell makes a sedan with a locking center diff
2.0 TSI aka the worst engine ever made alongside with 1.0 TSI that detonates after 100k km.
I think I'll keep my Suburban. Off road capable and spacious.
Hard core track my ass. I could get my rear wheel drive ford up the track
Is your Ford SMALL
No, you could see some of the vehucles all 4 wheels were spinning, and these tracks are loose mud
My 80 series landcruiser was AWD.. Not all AWD are the same.. It was awesome off road!
6:02 I was born in jackson hole Wyoming
I drive a 2011 Toyota Rav 4, 4 cylinder engine, 179 horsepower, never been offroading
i drive the 2012

One way to show the slope of the road is a side view of the road with trees growing vertically.
rav4...is the best.....2019.........
Forester is a better car, until you have it serviced. Rav4 will easily last 20 years with barely a problem.
