Great overview Dr. Brewer. Well, I have upped my egg consumption from 2/day to 3/4/day. From a previous video you made, I have been working hard to cut out all sugar and most refined carbs. I noticed that when I had a refined carb snack after dinner, I got very sleepy, like I'd been drugged, but still craved more and more carbs. When I substituted one or two eggs [for the high carb snack], I no longer felt this way and felt satisfied and full! Actually, starting to feel better all around with a lower carb/no sugar diet; still my wife thinks I'm crazy. I have some questions about your results. First, is the protein in 10 eggs, above your recommended protein requirement, and could that be factor in your measured results? I'm more into weight/resistance training (at 68 years of age) than high intensity cardio. Walking and swimming, running up and down the stairs (twice a week) is as much as I care to do, so my protein requirement may be more or less than yours. Presently, I eat less than the equivalent protein of 10 eggs/day, which would be high for me. Thank you again for these great videos! You have inspired me to change my eating habits.
You mentioned basal cell carcinoma removal. I removed two of these on my upper nose using a BEC 5 cream at home. The cream dissolves (actually a massive internal cell immune response that kills the cell) the cancer cells selectively and the body fills in with healthy new cells rapidly. It was interesting watching the process as the BEC 5 cream was very precise in only removing cells to a certain level (about 1 mm), it did not even attack the hair follicles. The cancer cells dissolved into a gray paste which I blotted away every day and then applied new cream. I did this until the area was completely filled in with new pink skin cells. There was no scaring. That was about ten years ago with no recurrence. The best preventative treatment for skin health is an average fasting glucose level of 85-95 for me and to not spend too much time in the sun plus use a SPF 50 barrier lotion on face, neck, hands, and arms. I do most of my exercise outside at night or indoors.
My happy place is about 2 doz eggs/week. We get them from a small family farm down the street for $5/doz. They are white, brown, green and blue, and every hue in between, with a few feathers mixed in for good measure. They are delightful! I also get beef tallow from their grass fed cows for about $6 for a large jar. Everything I fry I use that, besides some olive oil when more appropriate.
Thank you, Dr. Brewer, for the great podcast! I eat a lot of eggs too, low carb and moderate exercise. My markers remain low, especially LDL and with increased HDL. Even if eating eggs only is damaging, I will still eat them only vs big pharma or big food.

Hello Dr Brewer! Great presentation... Now I'm curious what your baseline labs look like, let's say, 30 days after returning to your typical diet. Be well!
Egg whites are known to be a bit allergenic for some and so might be a bit inflammatory. Being further into ketosis should help reduce inflammation a bit and also might possibly help in protection from metabolic diseases like heart disease, T2D, and cancer. BTW, I resolved my cancer w making big changes around diet and lifestyle....basically I am fortunate, and I know it.
I limit my egg consumption to: days when I know I am going to be physically active and go 4-5 hours before next meal. It sustains me better than a high fiber/fresh fruit blend(hollow carbs). But I find about 4 per week is my limit. I am sulfa sensitive and that seems be what limits my consumption. If I have 3 I can feel it. I agree with taking more ownership and stay informed, which you are just one source. I did recommend you and your site to my cardiologist. I live near Cleveland so I use some of their experts too. But I find reduced sugar consumption reduction is the single smartest action a person at any age can do. Staying physically and mentally active would be next.
I think you should to redo the experiment with better controls on your food , trying to match carbs and SF nearly eggactly. People can have a pretty wide range of cholesterol absorption differences. Some are hyper responds, some weak, and some almost nothing. I don't think you need quite 10 days and 100 eggs; 3 days should be enough to see the changes (at least based on changes seen from the Feldman protocol). A much simpler experiment for those wanting to know, and more precise, is to do it only for 3-4 days of NO eggs , tracking everything. Then get a measurement of lipids. Then switch to 3 days with eggs (I did 8/day) but also make sure to approximately match. carbs, SF and such to the no egg days. then get another lipid panel. My LDL went from 135 NO eg to 128 with eggs. So I'm happy to keep eating.

Will you please tell us what blood tests we viewers can perform at home? I test for glucose and it’s never above 100 except right after eating but I’m more interested in bloodwork values. Thanks
That 2.2uIU/ml fasting insuline! I have 5.5 which is not decent; that number is a dream! Coupled with those 33 TG, I suspect practically means ZERO carbs!
That should make it worse, so if it’s decent then I’d see that as a good sign. Never gonna make me eat pork, but still an interesting little experiment.
Will the bacon and/or be another factor that could taint the true value of the test? I agree with mixing about 1/2 slice of bacon with a heated or boiled egg with a little butter and pepper. Also, are the eggs soft boiled or soft center or fully cooked?
I eat 1 to 2 eggs with meat every morning! They are such great protein source! When I control carbs this reduces gives me a good Triglyceride/HDL ratio.
I remember Dr Don Layman saying that a change in dietary cholesterol will change blood cholesterol levels but only temporarily. The production of cholesterol by the liver will respond to a higher cholesterol consumption, but it takes a week or two. It would be interesting to see a properly controlled trial that tests this.
I ate 2 fried eggs with tomato and some greens every other day. Eggs in moderation are good for you. Thank you for this video. I appreciate you. God bless you richly.
Dr. Brewer, You are an eggsellent eggsample for us at the eggsactly proper moment in history. You are all you are cracked up to be. Glad you are out of your shell. 😂
@PrevMedHealth Excellent video, Dr. Brewer! I enjoyed watching your videos because you make the difficult subject easy to understand. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience!
Eggcellent video! I don't think you mentioned if you tried to maintain your baseline caloric intake and if you put on some weight. - I think one take away, don't be fearful of eating a couple eggs a day. Anyone talking to their doctor should tell them if they are on a low carb or keto diet when evaluating lipids panel, don't assume just because the doctor doesn't ask it is not relevant to the analysis. Lastly, with folks like you eating 10 eggs a day, I now understand rising egg prices. 😋 Just yoking
The problem is doctors test people 3 or 6 months after supposedly starting a new diet. I was lucky when I was 16 I was diagnosed with high cholesterol and high triglycerides in the 1980’s and was referred to dietician and in one month cutt8ng out eggs and obvious sweets like cake and candy, and less sugar by drinking less juice and a little less soda (I still drank some soda) my cholesterol dropped 50 points and my triglycerides went to normal. Throughout the last 50 years I can always reduce my cholesterol 50 points in a few weeks when I let it get out of control eating badly. Some of us over produce and over absorb cholesterol some people don’t. Doctors should test patients 2-3 weeks of patients drastically changing their diet, encause they can keep it up that long, and see if there is any extreme effect. It does not mean a person will keep up that extremism, but they will see their diet does really matter a lot or that what they eat does nothing. Waiting MONTHS to retest a pt is just too long, immediate feedback is more meaningful.
I'm doing an egg elimination at the moment. I had thought that my rumbly tummy in the past had been from too much sweetener consumption but over the last 2 days I have eaten 11 eggs and hardly any sweeteners. On the first evening my tummy was a bit rumbly (6 eggs) and then yesterday I had 1 for breakfast and then 3 for lunch and about 1 hour later I started feeling nausea. I had only had egg coffee (with 2 stevia tablets no erithrytol) for breakfast and then 3 eggs with 1/3 tin of ham for lunch. I felt off all afternoon but did have another egg at dinner time, and then started feeling the nausea again later in the evening. The eggs I buy are from egg farm so very fresh; barn laid, not free range (can't afford those). No eggs so far today (breakfast and lunch). Feeling a little bit queasy but not as bad as yesterday.
@@AMN320 Thanks AMN. I was starting to wonder if it might have been the fat in the eggs. I have been eating a reasonable amount of fat but I'm wondering if the fat in eggs might be a bit different to animal fats and butter/cream.

I think it would be very important and interesting to see what your lab results were one month, two months, 3 months and do forth up to 12 months later. Only one test a week later leaves more questions on the table than not.
@PrevMedHealth Dr. Brewer, I have a question about the high Omega-6 in eggs. An egg has 1,148mg of Omega-6 and 74mg of Omega-3 (Omega-6/Omega-3 ratio is 15). Does eating so many eggs result in super high Omega-6 in the body? And then I think about cooking may reduce the effects of Omega-6 and Omega-3 since they don't like high heat. My guess is that as long as eggs are fully cooked, Omega-6 will disappear after the cooking and should not cause extreme Inflammation to the body. Do you agree?
Please do the same test for red meat Consumption. My ldl went from 113 to 130 in a year, so my doctor said eat red meat once a week ( I was eating daily) and don't eat the egg yokes.
What are your thoughts on long term statin use? I started 10 mg of Lipitor for 8 years and then have been on 40 mg for an additional 8 years and am 54 now. Normal blood pressure but have issue with carbs and have been low carb for 20 years with some breaks in between.
I have FH and my cholesterol regardless of statin has always been fairly high, but 6 months ago I went low carb and I exercise regularly but when I got my tests back my total went thru the roof! HDL went down slightly and triglycerides went down slightly but my A1C went from 5.7 to 5.6 and thyroid went hyper🤷♀️
Thanks for sharing. I keep going with 2 eggs in the morning, plus a shake of avocado, mango with Chia seeds, linseeds, and home made yogurt. No lunch. For dinner 3 table spoons of rice and beans with a medium size stake or a pork sirloin. Still looking for more exercizes.

I had 20 laying hens producing near 20 a day. I was cooking a dozen for lunch and even a dozen fed back to hens and still had 18 dozen in the fridge! Got to the stage I was sick of eggs sold a few chickens off then lost a load to foxes sadly.
I have an appointment to go over my recent blood tests with my doc, and am expecting the "statin recommendation", which I will refuse. TriG .87 mmol (77 mg/dl) HDL 1.64 mmol (63 mg/dl) LDL 4.6 mmol (177 mg/dl). I have some weight to lose and am working on that; heading in the low carb direction. Great video, thanks
I hadnt eaten eggs for 50 yrs but started eating about 6 eggs per week. After doing this for bout 8 months not knowing lipid profile was changing, at routine yearly visit the doctor flipped cuz Total Cholesterol went from my usual 250 to 325, LDL from 150 to 200 HDL from usual 80-90 to 120. Triglcerides bout same as always at 60 ish. I stopped eggs temporarily. NO eggs for three weeks. I Only retested total cholesterol as I paid lab outta pocket, no doctor order. Total cholesterol after three weeks of NO eggs dropped from 325 to 272. Im 68 yr old female underweight all my life at 5'3 and 91 pounds. So were eggs to blame for increased total chol? I think so! I have to admit this video is not what I was wanting to hear. In my recent tests my fasting blood glucose was in the middle of the pre-diabetes range, and my LDL on the high side. I work a very active job and also play sports, my body is very calorie hungry to maintain a healthy weight. After cutting out all added sugar from my diet I started losing weight like crazy, not what I want as I'm already too skinny! I calculate that I was getting 1000calories per day from sugar on top of a general high calorie food diet, so making up the lost calories is difficult. I was hoping to replace my sugary snacks throughout the day with eggs, as Im already eating 5 eggs a day minimum, 10 eggs a day or more would have been easy to do. Now after seeing the LDL go so high in this experiment Im hesitant to eat more eggs than I'm currently eating 😞
Actually, this might not be true, as the eggs get cooked faster in a microwave than in conventional ways of cooking, therefore are subjected to heating less amount of time.
Some say since a microwave oven heats water you actually preserve nutrients because temperature should stay at or below boiling. Of course we know a microwave also cooks faster, as stated in a previous reply, so the combination of low time and temperature may be beneficial.

On pubmed there is the study when one old guy aet 35 eggs daily within whole year! No impact!
Is that medicine in a pub? Sound's great.
The bodybuilder Vince Gironda said that eating 36 eggs a day was as effective as a mild Danabol cycle.

My grandpa said that eating 35 eggs a day has the same impact as estrogen

Oya. My LDL as a junk food, fatso sugar burner was 82. I ate carnivore lost 70 pounds, a1c improved, LDL went to 250. Go figure...
Eggs was part of my healing from heart disease. Keto works
Dr Brewer you truly walk the talk. You do it to figure out what really happens to you. I eat 4 ea day.
You say you put butter and bacon? Wouldn't that mess up the test. You talking about eggs alone.
That should make it worse, so if it’s decent then I’d see that as a good sign. Never gonna make me eat pork, but still an interesting little experiment.
I would love to see the same blood test ran on eating high protein vegan for 10 days. thanks 🤗
Will the bacon and/or be another factor that could taint the true value of the test? I agree with mixing about 1/2 slice of bacon with a heated or boiled egg with a little butter and pepper. Also, are the eggs soft boiled or soft center or fully cooked?
This is Eggstraordinary
😂😂😂
I eat 1 to 2 eggs with meat every morning! They are such great protein source! When I control carbs this reduces gives me a good Triglyceride/HDL ratio.
I remember Dr Don Layman saying that a change in dietary cholesterol will change blood cholesterol levels but only temporarily. The production of cholesterol by the liver will respond to a higher cholesterol consumption, but it takes a week or two. It would be interesting to see a properly controlled trial that tests this.
If blood tests are only every 3-6 months does it really reflect our daily changes.
We must state that many eggs cause great problems in counting.
I ate 2 fried eggs with tomato and some greens every other day. Eggs in moderation are good for you.
Thank you for this video.
I appreciate you.
God bless you richly.
I hope you're wrong. I eat on the daily 8 pasture raised every day breaking daily 20 hour fast.
Dr. Brewer,
You are an eggsellent eggsample for us at the eggsactly proper moment in history.
No lo vallas a combinar con carbohidratos porque se activaria la insulina y ahi te haría daño la grasa del huevo

Had a 5 egg omlette for dinner!! Great vid Dr. Brewer. Quick question. I have LDL pattern A. Can your LDL pattern change from A to B. Thanks
Good morning!
This is the guy in the math questions.
I can't. I think I would get chest pain. Dr Ekberg (yes that's his name) on TH-cam also ate 100 eggs with no significant change in his labs, I think.
Is your liver and bile okay? Fatty foods need bile and sometimes if that is not flowing well or is not enough you could feel nausea.

Please do the same test for red meat
Consumption. My ldl went from 113 to 130 in a year, so my doctor said eat red meat once a week ( I was eating daily) and don't eat the egg yokes.
Is it possible it was the other foods/carbs you were adding rather than the eggs (salads have some carbs)?
Thank You Doc for this eggcellent topic. I 🧡💙💚 eating eggs 🥚 🥚🥚
No chia or rice forever

I ate three eggs a day and I had high cholesterol. Dr wanted to put me in statin! I dumped the eggs and my cholesterol came down, it took two months though not ten days
I had 20 laying hens producing near 20 a day. I was cooking a dozen for lunch and even a dozen fed back to hens and still had 18 dozen in the fridge! Got to the stage I was sick of eggs sold a few chickens off then lost a load to foxes sadly.
Dr. Brewer I would like to see you do a 3-4 month carnivore diet and afterwards get as much bloodwork done as you can.
I have an appointment to go over my recent blood tests with my doc, and am expecting the "statin recommendation", which I will refuse.
TriG .87 mmol (77 mg/dl)
HDL 1.64 mmol (63 mg/dl)
LDL 4.6 mmol (177 mg/dl). I have some weight to lose and am working on that; heading in the low carb direction.
Great video, thanks
I'm pretty sure it was that salad you had 🙊😅
I hadnt eaten eggs for 50 yrs but started eating about 6 eggs per week.
After doing this for bout 8 months not knowing lipid profile was changing, at routine yearly visit the doctor flipped cuz Total Cholesterol went from my usual 250 to 325, LDL from 150 to 200
HDL from usual 80-90 to 120.

Those are great numbers and after 500 glucose! I hope your eyes, kidneys and other organs are all in good shape now.
hello doctor thank you for everything you do for us and help you every day. my mother asked for the doctor she trusted because she has the same problem you had with plaques in the internal artery. And she asked him who listened to her when you say that with statins, supplements, aspirin. Arteriosclerosis plaques slowly shrink until you heal. He replied, it's not possible. because this fat has to go somewhere. maybe it blocks the heart or brain. this doctor discouraged my mother who is 54 years old. If you can read me doctor can make another video on this topic. Thank you very much 🙏🍀
I eat 2-3 eggs a day, that is my main meal around 1 pm. I am also 67 and have had several skin cancer surgeries, two melanoma. We didn't have sunscreen, instead we used baby oil! 😂
Could you explain more about the meaning of MA/CR? Why was it up to begin? Why did if fall? What is too high?
Why don’t you replace with healthy carbs like beans and nuts?
very interesting to know love this test and eggs!!🥚🥚🥚🥚😎👌
Does this suggest that there is a relationship between LDL and ketones vs LDL and glucose. ?
Moral of the story: Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

My thoughts as well. Eat mine over easy.
@@chrispeede3479 Rubbish 🤣
Actually, this might not be true, as the eggs get cooked faster in a microwave than in conventional ways of cooking, therefore are subjected to heating less amount of time.
Some say since a microwave oven heats water you actually preserve nutrients because temperature should stay at or below boiling. Of course we know a microwave also cooks faster, as stated in a previous reply, so the combination of low time and temperature may be beneficial.
