I am 67 and don’t take baby Aspirin anymore despite of the fact that I had a triple bypass 6.5 years ago but instead I have been taking 8000 FU of Nattokinase with K2 MK 7 and these have done wonders for me, I exercise every single day for HIIT to strength training and hikes in the woods lost 62 lbs and eat 99 % vegetarian diet and this has done wonders to for me. No longer on diabetic Metformin anymore either, my daughter became my inspiration she holds a PhD in regenerative medicine and an MD and on her way to become a Cardio thoracic surgeon. Thx to Dr. Brewer for always putting out these informative videos and you are making a difference.

Dear Dr. Ford. I am a (Dutch) retired B-747 captain. Appr. some 25 years ago during my annual medical check the examining medical docor advised me to use 100mg of aspirin every day mainly because of the fact that I was doing longhaul flights. That means a lot of sitting. To avoid clogging of the arteries I started doing this. At this moment I am 72 years of age and I stil use, every day, this little medicin and I am lucky to be in very good health. Every day I jump on my racingbike and easily ride 60-80 miles. Ofcourse other factors are contributing to health but I am convinced that this little pill did and does its work. Thank you for this interesting and re-assuring video. Greeting from The Netherlands!

Always had a diet high in fats and carbs but also been very physically active and my pressure rose commensurate with diminished physical activity.
Due to pain from abused tendons I started aspirin and my pressure leveled off at acceptable rate. Never smoked, stopped alcohol because it costs too much, proper weight and live in a 5 story house. Now busily retired and hope to reach the 100+ year span common to some of my ancestors.

One night I had heart racing issue that subsided thru the 5 second breathing practice, then then I had the flutters. This time they were persistent. 2 ambulances showed up. on 13 Aug 24, I have had chest pain acommpanied with sweating and slurred speech. Rushed to the ER.
Underwent angiography, no blockage, but had mild plaque. My bp, ecg and path test came normal. My LDL (140) and HDL(35) was off the mark, total cholesterol was normal.
Diagnosis: Unstable Angina , Non obstructive CAD. I have been put on Aspirin 75 mg and atorvastatin 20mg, daily.

Every video and article talks about aspirin for the prevention of heart attack and stroke. I started taking aspirin back about 12 or 15 years ago when there were announcements in the media that aspirin also reduced the risk of certain cancers....colon cancer being one of them. I had already, starting at 39, been found to make pre-cancerous polyps. Since I started taking aspirin daily, I have not produced a single polyp. This is why I continue to take it. To me, the risks are worth taking the aspirin for cancer prevention.

I got out of there after two days. I’ve never had an issue in seven years. The key is taking your medication Xarelto 20 mg . Metoprolol 100 mg twice a day and losartan 100 mg once a day . This is my recipe visit him every six months and my CBC is always very good. Aleister is very low. Also take Lipitor 20 mg a day. thanks for your video. I hope it helps a lot of people. Five years ago, I read a German study on Motherwort (a calmative in the mint family) for Afib, and after two weeks, it worked for me. The study mentioned 28 days. I keep a bottle at all times. Aspirin is a chelator, but I also use aged garlic and EDTA. It is my understanding that plaque is not just made up of one thing but rather calcium, Fibrin and fluids. EDTA for Calcium, Lumbrokinase/Nattokinase for the dissolving of fibrin. Since reading about aged black garlic, that is now a daily for me. I don't care if it comes out of my pores and I smell like Italian food. 😂😁

      1. "after two weeks" of what? Reading a study?
      2. "it worked for me", what worked, how did it work, what did it do?
      3. "I keep a bottle at all times", why? in case of what?

I quit my road racing and years of running, including the Olympic Trials, at age 73 (7 years ago) due to wear and tear on my knees. Within a few months I was suddenly diagnosed with AFIB. I had none of the symptoms I've read about. Only an irregular heartbeats...58, 74, 61, 85, 94, 57 101...and so on. They prescribed me Metoprolol and reluctantly, Eliquis, I've since had a total knee replacement - due to 602 road races - (10K's and up), and also laminectomy with all that pounding. All successful. Tests confirmed the AFIB, so I am careful. No overheating here in Arizona heat.

I most likely developed Persistent Atrial Fibrillation in early 2020 at age 56, with no clue other than noticing short breath. Thought I was just out of shape that spring from the winter months of doing nothing. Had tests done in 2021 and that's when I was told that I have AFIB. Had Catheter Ablation done in February of 2022 and rhythm is now very good. I also take Pradaxa (150mg) twice a day and was told that I should stay on it indefinitely. After discovering all of this I found out my brother, father, aunts and some cousins also have AFIB. Seems in runs in my father's side of the family. I know that my long-term outlook most likely means that my AFIB will return in time, maybe, maybe not I hoping. But if so, I can always do another Catheter Ablation, once more.
Good luck everyone and my prayers. 🙏❤🙏

A very useful expose, I would add that while AFIB creates blood clots , these not only travel to block blood to the brain resulting in a stroke but can also stop blood supply to the lungs resulting in deadly pulmonary embolism. I am now 93 and narrowly survived 2 embolisms 12 and10 years ago. i was diagnosed with AF after the first one, and was put on warfarin which caused ongoing nose bleeds, when my doctor put me on baby aspirin although i knew it would be only half as efficient as warfarin (25% vs 50%) . Within a year ,I had my second pulmonary embolism when I was lifted unconscious from the floor and sent directly to ER who saved my life. I could not risk another embolism or stroke and have only used a very expensive NOAC (Pradaxa) since then , without bleeding or other problems.

I donated platelets for a couple of decades every other week. One of the benefits was that I got rid of the excess platelets in my blood. Then in 2019 I was diagnosed with bladder cancer (likely from Camp Lejune's water), after a couple of years I asked my VA dr. if I could go back to donating platelets, she advised me to not donate anymore as I likely still have some cancer cells flowing around my blood and I don't want to give it to some innocent person. Suggested Dose: 100-150 mg Pycnogenol + 500-1,000 mg curcumin per day.
Considerations: This combination is likely to have significant antiplatelet effects, but curcumin's bioavailability can be low, so using a formulation with enhanced absorption is beneficial.

Docs will not do fluoroscopy until after you are on the table getting stented, which is too late to avoid a heart attack by using aspirin. Presumably, you will know you have plaque AFTER that moment, but that is way too late to stop the cascade effects that come from the first attack (if you survive it).
This is a catch-22 condition for the "taking aspirin" decision.
Edit: Made this comment before watching the rest of the video. CIMT is something I might look into.

I just had a carotid artery scan, but not the CIMT. I have 60% blockage on my left side but perfect blood flow so they mark it as normal!!!??? Good thing I take a daily baby aspirin! However I am now on a mission to reduce the plaque in my carotid artery, but wonder if that's possible. My CAC was 25. I am 73.

@@vtgirl1969 I guess if there is anything "nice" about carotid artery blockages is that your brain gives you a heads-up, so to speak. 😉 Dizziness, fainting, and so on. Many people with heart constrictions dont find out until a clot comes along and blocks off the flow almost entirely, and they only realize it on the way to the floor.
      I wish you the best!

Aspirin poisoning may have contributed to the high mortality rate of the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, which killed an estimated 50-100 million people. At the time, medical professionals didn't fully understand aspirin's pharmacology or dosing, and the drug industry promoted its use. The U.S. Surgeon General, Navy, and the Journal of the American Medical Association recommended aspirin as a treatment for the flu, and advised patients to take up to 30 grams per day, which is now known to be toxic. Aspirin overdose can look similar to the flu, so people who didn't recover from the flu may have continued taking aspirin and died from what they thought was the flu. Symptoms of aspirin poisoning include pulmonary edema, or fluid buildup in the lungs, and hyperventilation. Some researchers believe that many deaths in October 1918 were caused or hastened by aspirin poisoning.

Taking it is the best thing that ever happened to me in my life, I'm in my late 40s and started having all types of health problems and weight issues, I would wake up in the morning and my feet and legs would be swollen, and I would have terrible headaches And blurry vision, I would get these little scabby lesions on my skin that wouldn't go away for months, My skin felt doughy and clammy, the list went on. But after I started taking 2 full strength aspirin a day for a month, and then One full strength aspirin every other day, My health is as it was when I was 30, I don't get the headache anymore and all the swelling skin lesions and headaches went away. It 100% without a doubt saved my life.

A technical not about aspirin. It has a half-life of about 5 days. It you take 80mg, 5 days later, 40mg is still in your system. So, if you miss a dose, there is no reason to panic or megadose the next day.

I will never be able to trust Pharma controlled main stream medicine after the last 3 years and what doctors in general did. I try to do all of these things on my own. Wish that wasn't the case, but there it is. This is still happening. I am leaning towards Naturopaths if possible, when and if necessary. :(
