Hey Jason, do you find a problem starting with Vimeo Plus based on this restriction on Vimeo's guidelines?: Businesses may not use Vimeo Basic or Vimeo Plus to host videos. If you are a business or wish to upload commercial content, you must use Vimeo PRO or Vimeo Business. Commercial content includes: Videos promoting or representing a for-profit business or brand. Videos containing any form of advertising. Videos hosted on behalf of a business (e.g., uploaded to Vimeo and embedded on a company’s website). Content that you intend to sell. Product demos and tutorials. Corporate training videos. If the videos you’re uploading fit any of these descriptions, you must use Vimeo PRO or Vimeo Business.
If that's what it says, then I guess that's the way it is now. I was using Pro when I used it but it's good to know the TOS are now restricting the use of videos on the plus plan
Do you know how many cards you can have during your video? I'm trying to make like an interactive information product but will redirect viewers if they need help with a certain thing I said at that moment in the video
Hi, Vimeo has 2TB bandwidth per month limit. A HD video per hour is 1.5 GB. So for 1000 users watching 1 hour per day, Vimeo would not make sense right.
I actually don't recommend any of them. I don't think running your membership site on Wordpress is a good idea... but if I had to choose: ThriveThemes Apprentice
Jason!! Awesome Job on this video! I was looking at doing an online course one day and you explained Vimeo in great detail! I'm a fan and I subbed! I'll definitely be needing more advice when it's time!! Thanks A LOT!!!!

excellent video thank you very much ... I have a question ... I use Vimeo pro two years ago but for two years now my videooclases can already be downloaded ..... know some other option where you can protect the videooclases ... ? thank you
It's nearly impossible to protect your videos from pirates. It's sadly a part of creating online courses. As soon as the video is on a site, it can be pirated.
Thanks for the tutorial. I am using a LMS to host my site with videos embedded from vimeo pro. Should i set them to private and then my specific domain or public and specific domain? They will have to purchase the course to gain access through learnpress.
I used to do that and it got annoying having to change the settings every time we moved to a new LMS with a different subdomain. If you know you won't move anytime soon, it's a nice extra level of protection
Jason, Thank you for the explanations. If I turn on the feature "What Can people do with this video" to download it, will it be downloaded on the phone? or it will be just on the Vimeo website? is it a similar download option we have on youtube where we can access the downloaded videos without the internet? I will really appreciate your help brother Because I want to serve a market prone to internet shutdowns so before I start I want to be sure I am adding value to the students not just taking the money for the courses which they can't access if the internet gets blocked in between.
Vimeo doesn't have the kind of feature your referring too. In fact most countries don't have that TH-cam feature.... Although I get what you want to accomplish and to do that you will have to allow people to download the video. This means they are getting the full file though, it's not protected like it would be with TH-cam. So if you want them to download it; it means you have to give them the file.
Jason this is great. I love that I can limit who can embed and which domains can embed. However, when they right click on the video they can just get the page the video ishosted to. So they can't embed but they can share a link. Is there something I'm missing?
Vimeo doesn't give people the url directly and you can disable the review page so that the link won't take them there... But yes the savvy pirates can still get the video 😣
Hello Jason ! But regarding security i have seen a lot of videos on how to download youtube & Vimeo videos !, Afraid to use both to be honest, though the bandwidth in VIMEO is amazing , can you recommend how to solve this issue?
If it's on the internet; someone is going to download it... It's just more of a process with Vimeo than it is with TH-cam... Plus TH-cam urls are all public so it's a lot easier for that information to be shared
Great question. The Logitec C920 webcam + Camtasia is good enough for most courses..... I did a breakdown of recording equipment in this video: How To Start A TH-cam Channel - th-cam.com/video/4CXtoILX2BA/w-d-xo.html
Hello Jason! it has been about 3 years since this video. Has TH-cam updated any of it's privacy settings making it more competitive with Vimeo or is Vimeo still the best bet? Thanks!
The question remains how do you give access to your video ONLY TO YOUR PAID customers? Even if your site is MEMBER ACCESS ONLY, how do you display your videos only to the customers that actually PAID for this course?
That has to be handled by your membership software. So restrict the vimeo video to your domain or a specific url/sub-domain on your site. Then you'll have to use your membership software to restrict the entire page to only people who've purchased the course.
there is something i dont understand about vimeo , my course is almost 50 GB, but i dont understand the limit, how many giga do i have in my account? i dont undestand the 5 GB limit
Great video man! I'm thinking of getting Vimeo Pro. Im releasing a course this week. Where do you recommending hosting the course? In a membership site (I'm thinking of using Clickfunnels) or should I host it else where?
Thank you for the vid it realy gave me almost all of what I needed to know about vimeo. I am launching my first ever course on September , I have been doing free youtube courses but this time I want to sell and down side of it is that I have never sold anytime online so it is a big risk that I am willing to take. So my question is can I start with vimeo Plus and able to hide the videos from vimeo and only be accessible on my website or I should go pro for that feature "hide from vimeo". thank you very much

Not quite sure on the math there for the GB for streaming but its quite hard to hit 2TB on streaming

Even if you added a password; it can still be shared - so the answer is there isn't

Great video. Thanks for putting it together, Jason!
I think Vimeo changed buddy. No privacy settings per domain on the basic plan. Only, show all, show me, show [name] or show with password
well, on any video hosts, anybody can download the video using video capture tool and upload it somewhere else... So the "privacy" is not safe.
It takes extra steps with Vimeo and more people know how to right click to get the YT url; so they can watch any time
Very helpful, thank you. If I'd like to add the color setting, is that in Plus or I have to get Pro? thanks:)
Hello Jason! it has been about 3 years since this video. Has TH-cam updated any of it's privacy settings making it more competitive with Vimeo or is Vimeo still the best bet? Thanks!
No, Vimeo still wins when it comes to hosting videos to be embedded in your membership site.
Is there any limit for viewers. Whether viewers are not subjected to any restrictions as long as my hosted videos are embedded in my website?
There are no bandwidth restrictions for either... You have unlimited views.
So if you go with basic you can't have embedded videos, on let's say Shopify for example? Which is where I plan on selling my course
You'll need to purchase the pro or higher to do that and technically you'll need to purchase Plus since the videos are being sold
Thanks a lot for the advice. I much appreciate it.
Happy to help! Wish you the best with your online course!

🙏👍 Good luck with your course!
You can still download videos from Vimeo. You' can't get 100% privacy.
😟 Sad but true. At least with vimeo it's a little harder
Does Vimeo restrict audience from Screen recording the video?
No. There isn't a way to stop people from recording the screen
Thank you so much for this video !! So so helpful. Big thanks from France 😊
Can you embed a livestream to your website?
I haven't done that bit I think it's possible
Hi, I get this question a lot. If I buy a demand vimeo, can I upload it to youtube legally?
NO. Your purchasing the right to watch it, not the complete ownership rights of the work.
can someone download it using idm.can i stop it
You can't stop people downloading the videos. Doesn't matter which solution you use
Valuable Information,Thanks. I have one query regarding Vimeo pro ...Is there any limit of website domain where I can embed the code for each videos ?
There is no limit to the number of places you can embed your videos. 👍
there is something i dont understand about vimeo , my course is almost 50 GB, but i dont understand the limit, how many giga do i have in my account? i dont undestand the 5 GB limit
He said 20 GB weekly limit, but, the posted 256GB. Good luck.
does this work with Vimeo Plus? or i have to updrade to pro?
Vimeo Plus should have everything you need for your online course hosting 👍

Thanks you for the information. Please how do vimeo pay for video?
You just have to go to Vimeo and choose the package that is best for you
is all of this still valid or youtube has made changes that change the outcome?
All still valid. I would not use TH-cam for hosting course content
Hello. Can I speed or slow down the speed of a video on Vimeo when embedding it to Wordpress?
If the user has a plug-in they can do it. I don't think you have the ability to automatically have your video speed changed.
