As a person living in the deep south, this sort of thing is fascinating to me. Down here, anyone with a truck has one just to say they have a truck. You, on the other hand, take AWESOME trucks that have been left for dead and give 'em a new lease on work life. And work they DO! Thank you for the intensified slice of north woods life! Cheers!
As a person living in the far north east USA I’m wondering what the hell is wrong with me for watching and liking?! I make a living moving that white crap and it will be here all to soon! Great video, keep up the good work and stay warm.
Im def in the south and i have a truck but i need a truck due to my work but 80% have a truck just to say they have a truck my aunt has a 2020 ford f150 4x4 for what u ask idk
There are plenty of people up north that have a truck and don’t use it for it’s intended purpose ever. There are guys driving around lifted ram Cummins trucks with low profile wheels, street tires and the trucks have never seen a dirt road, snow or anything in the bed other than a cooler and maybe a couple fat chicks.
Your climate seems like ours here in Newfoundland on the other side of the continent. 10 months of winter and 2 months of bad snowmobiling. Yes you can't kill a ford 300 inline 6. Had one in my uncles 77 ford. Then it went into a 79 then an 83. Finally it ended up powering a saw mill. We still use it.
I'm from Colorado and was driving a dump truck for guy and he offered to teach me to drive a pickup plow come winter. Within a couple hours I knew for sure it was the funnest job I ever did! I was like "Wow their paying me $30 hr to do this?!?" I was hooked! Been driving various types of plows ever since. Even considered going to Antarctica so I could do it year round lmao. Thanks for sharing!
Not much snow in my area of Minnesota. It's been really warm for a few days. But I know it's coming soon. I love those old Ford's. Those 3/4 ton high boys were extra cool.
My mom had a few Broncos, but she had an '86 with the 300 and a manual granny low four speed. I loved it, but it was a tossup between the '86, and the '84 she had with the 351 HO V8...I LOVED that thing, it sounded healthy right from the factory.
Makes me sad that I hardly ever see them around anymore. I guess I'm part of the problem though, I have an '86 F250 4x4 with the 460 V8 that I parked years ago when gas went up to what it is now for awhile. The water pump went out, so I decided that it didn't make sense to spend money to fix and drive a vehicle that only gets about 8 mpg, and leaks oil so bad that I never had to change it because it was always clean, but it eventually wound up on the ground under the truck. I love that truck though, it was a beast! I put 3" true daul exhaust with 24" long glasspacks on it...I could drive by vehicles parked on the side of the road and romp on it and it would set off all the car alarms, lol.
WOW This is a great rig for the plow. Just clears with ease. Just Like a hot knife thru butter. The one and only 300 in line six more torque that a 302 V8 Ladies and gentleman.
Nice just getting ready to plow Michigan 2023 winter snow season. Nice video to get me going thanks. Got old trucks too amazing how they just keep going with some loveing 😃🌧❄️❄️❄️ good luck 🍀 every one .
Texas here, whew cold just looking at all that snow lol. No really, those "hot water" 300's was torque monsters. Ol' truck still got it! Nice video! Keep up the great work! Blessings and respect!
This video that just popped up is n my feed brings back memories of when I was about 12-13 and plowing with my old man’s 78 ford and western straight blade was my job. Miss then days. I actually enjoyed plowing then. Now it’s more of a chore 😅
Legendary engine in a crap truck. To be honest, I like the Chevy 292 straight 6 better, in a Chevy truck too of course. I haven't owned a Ford truck since the early 1990's when my 1985 F150 caught fire just sitting in the driveway. I've owned nothing but Chevy and Dodge ever since, LOL.....
Worked for a local school district for 35 years and plowed school parking lots for all of those 35 years. Went through five trucks. Four F350's and one GMC 2500. The district only had one forklift and it wasn't at the high school. So, during plow season when the tailgate salt spreader was on the truck you could not open the tailgate, so I threw 80lb. bags of salt up over the side. 30 in the morning which equals 60 because you had to lift them a second time up to the hopper, slice it open. Then throughout the day it would continue to snow so you had to plow and add more salt to the parking lot. Now it is evening and there is a basketball game, wrestling match. band concert or schoolboard meeting, always something going on. Lots and lots of eighty- pound bags. Retired now and two operations one to remove hemorrhoids and one for back surgery trying to enjoy retirement.
Had 2 Bullnose Fords. 85 F250 5.0L 4x4 with a granny 4speed, and a 86 Bronco XLT 5.0L. Great trucks! And my favorite front end. Keeping my eye out for another!
I sure am glad that I do not have to deal with that much snow. Nice you have equipment to handle what ever comes your way. I guess a snow plow would be on top of my list of something I really need if I live up North. Great video
I do plowing in Northeastern Ontario Canada , a lot of the same dry fluffy powder . You and that old Ford do some good work plowing and stacking . Gotta know how to stack it or by the end of winter there's no room left .
I'm a teamster here in nyc (crane company) but every winter I make sure to find someone who needs a driver to plow snow. Its not the money $45-$50 an hour, it's the fun and elation of watching the snow peel off my blade
@John Gallagher lmaooooo that's good...well see where you are come retirement, and where I am. And I'll bet you I'm way ahead of you. Enjoy your monkeypox
@John Gallagher lmaooo you ignorant fool. First of all good luck on your investments with this globalist idiot as your president. Secondly, before you run your cockholster go.look at how teamsters local 282 NYC retires?? Over a million in my annuity and a pension of 4k a month. Medical until I'm 62 then it goes to Medicare
@John Gallagher this goes to show you your ignorance. We hate Biden as much as you hate Trudeau, but yet you think us "union fags" suck their Dicks. You got the wrong guys
Awesome ride! Too bad we don t get as much snow these days in Romania, I got an ARO 244 with a 3119cubic centimeter diesel, 4 cyl for grandpa but it is not as classy as this American Ford !
after 2 years, the mounting shackles on the 84 dodge one ton's plow are worn right out... need to cut them off and weld on 6 new 1/2 plate eyelet tabs for the bolt pin on the plow... 🙃
You'll have to keep an eye out for a old Oshkosh or FWD plow truck to revive. I bet you'd find a ton of Alaskan improvements on one of them! Nice camera work.
Don't be afraid to make the clips longer, they will watch them, even more probably. You'll be surprised how many people would love to turn on a clip of some guy plowing snow with his truck in Alaska for 1h and watch it while making breakfast or whatever. 😉
What plow is that? I have the same one on my 79 Ford, but know nothing about it. It works great, but plows being plows it will need repair/maintenance. Knowing what make/model would help with that.
I'm from Canada and I was wondering if you guys salt the roads where you live in Alaska I'm assuming no . We also get cold here -20 c and rarely we see -35 c here but we do get it .
@BackyardAlaskan ok I didn't figure you guys had salt roads due to the crazy cold salt becomes useless and your trucks don't have no crazy rust on them for there age.
Thanks for sharing. I have family in Fairbanks, Anchorage and Soldotna so watching your videos makes me feel closer to them. Also never seen how snow plowing is done with a pickup. We’re you running in 4-low or 4-high? Gotta love the durability of the 300 six!!
Obviously very cool. You have some legendary cold starts which I really enjoy watching.. There is a lot of positivity no doubt but the pushbutton for ignition start is kind of silly. While functional, a much better fix would be to replace the actual ignition switch which is mounted on the steering column. Its a $10 part held by 2 bolts, easy out easy in, so not sure why there are many people that install a push button switch. The worst part is if the ignition switch is going out, it will continue to deteriorate and cause the truck to lose power, among other issues...
The lever in the cab operates two cables that run out to the pump valves, the lever also has contacts that activate a solenoid under the hood to run the pump motor.
@@BackyardAlaskan well yeah if you leave anything running long enough it'll warm up. What I'm saying is leave it on low, then come back out in 8-10 min when the engine is warm, THEN crank the heater. Otherwise, leaving the heater on high when the engine is cold takes everything longer to warm up
I’ve had to run a plow truck for work a few times. Most boring, monotonous job ever. I have a quad with a plow for my 200 ft driveway and I’m dreading having to use it again this year

I lived in south for 10 years thats true, real trucks that work hard are up north
Trucks love to be worked!

The 300 was a good engine. On rainy days you could climb into the engine compartment and put the hood down to work on it!

It’s always a good day when BYA posts another bull nose plowing vidja
Not much snow in my area of Minnesota. It's been really warm for a few days. But I know it's coming soon. I love those old Ford's. Those 3/4 ton high boys were extra cool.
Love those straight 6 engines. I really miss my 300cu in powered 1983 Bronco.

That straight 6 is bullet proof, good motor!!!
Those Bullnoses are good looking trucks!

For a plow truck, that has a fairly nice interior.
Look forward to the plowing videos. Thanks.
With that much snow, I'm imagining a truck with flame throwers mounted fore & aft. Maybe large LP torches! 🤣🤣🤣
the new camera angles and shots makes the video even more satisfying than it already is, keep it up 👍
6 banging snow
Good old Bull nose F150 short bed easy to manage plowing snow ❄️
I'm impressed with how well that pushes snow! I use a an old steiger with a 14foot dozer.

Nice! She's a good ol' truck.
BA, That's a great old half ton and those 300 6s were the bomb! The ones I've driven feel like V8s. Thanks for the burry ride! All the best!

Give her a little love and brush the snow off the roof.
thats the ultimate plow truck being a short bed
Ford pickup always works thanks BYA can't wait for the next video peace
I love bullnose trucks. I have one myself and is restoring it little by little. That truck is in a great shape than mine.
Trouble is most have rusted away by now.
Something really satisfying about a) the old Ford and b) the work you did. Smiling 😁
God i cant wait for winter. Favorite season

The old truck it's work horse 👍 👍 👍 👍
That engine sound!
Those old Fords won't die!
The 300 inline 6 is probably the best engine Ford ever made, great engine!
Please, send me a bit snow, here in France, it's grey and rainy weather🤨. Thanks for the video👍🏻👍🏻.
Greeting's from France🥖🇫🇷
I had a 1990 with the straight six and I sold it just before it reached 400,000 miles.
Did not burn any oil but it sure did leak it everywhere.
I own a 77 F250 Highboy with a Meyers plow and never let's me down. Doesn't matter the cold or snow depth.
Thats the quietest running truck you own 🤣😂🇺🇸
The truck fired up easy And the snow looks like quite a bit We haven't had a lot this year probably five inches
Fireman 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!
can't stop watching
Bump guard trim looks good in the snow. Pancakes on the fine china now :-)
Mister Plow, that's my name.
That name again, is Mister Plow!
You make snow plowing look like it's really fun to do. It's nice to see the old girl playing in the snow. Be careful and stay warm. .
After 35 years your neck will give you problems from repeatedly turning your head when you back up.
I owned a 1983 Bronco with the 300 6cyl engine. A real; stump puller and torque too. Onward!
It's hard to beat the reliability of those simple old bullnose ford's, especially with the 300.
I do plowing in Northeastern Ontario Canada , a lot of the same dry fluffy powder . You and that old Ford do some good work plowing and stacking . Gotta know how to stack it or by the end of winter there's no room left .

You guys are something else bro. I'm glad to live in an area that doesn't need one of those.👍🇺🇸⚜️🔥🔥
Great video and phenomenal scenery...no snow in southern ontario yet lol
The truck started and ran great.
Great video. Looking a lot like Christmas.
Pretty impressive without chains
Contemplated running the A/C here in NC this weekend...
love the 300 inlines
hardly 4 in of snow ... but good workout for the 300
great video.
more cold starts and plowing please
Its finally getting cold here now

They never do I tried to blow one up one time and it just wouldnt die even with out coolant!
Regular cab short beds are so agile. Nice truck
NICE job!
Nice unit

That snow on the rd looked pretty deep 😳

Great truck for job you do have a lot of plowing to do. Any winter project you working on.
Can’t kill a straight six!
My Dad has a 1995 F-150 shortbed 4x4 300 six with a manual and like 53k miles or so... People keep trying to buy it off him at every gas station.
I enjoyed. 🤠👍

No salt use in my area, and I’m sure thankful for that with all the old rigs running around.
@BackyardAlaskan ok I didn't figure you guys had salt roads due to the crazy cold salt becomes useless and your trucks don't have no crazy rust on them for there age.
I see the Mat Su sticker on the truck, are you in that area? My brother in law lives in Chickaloon.

Back when ford actually made a truck.
Nice ford , but I love my 1953f1000 T 4+4 12cyd

@@BackyardAlaskan Thanks for the reply
What make is that snow plow. And how are those old school hydrolic plow controls rigged to electric over hydronic plow? If you don't mind me asking
