The really crazy thing about this clip is that this is not even her best solo on So We've Ended. The Ronnie Scott's solo is a MILLION times more amazing than the Crossroads one. Jeff was so blown away at Ronnie Scott's that he literally COULD NOT PLAY his solo when she was finished. He just stood there grinning at her for 16 bars before he started his. Tal is a goddess, and truly one of the most epic bassists of our generation. Also, don't sleep on her solo jazz album, Transformation. Top shelf stuff! RIP Jeff!
+1 For the Ronnie Scott’s solo. The musicianship is fantastic by the whole band, and the sense of kindness and generosity all around is a big part of what makes me and the audience connect with the band and feel the love swirling around. Wonderful, Tal.

@@ImaDogTrainer Same... I thought that because of how young she looked that maybe she was his daughter. She really rocketed onto the scene with that performance.
That moment and solo has helped make the world take notice of Tal. She's a gem of a bass player. Play on Tal My respect for Jeff Beck has been a part of my life for 60 years. RIP Jeff we will always miss you. Los Angeles
I love watching you play with Jeff: of course the music is fine as hell, but the on-stage chemistry between the two of you is such a charming bonus. The Ronnie Scott's concert is one of the very few TH-cam videos that I keep going back to and watching over and over again.
Damn, lady, you are a class act. I've probably watched that concert, and the Live at Ronnie Scotts concert, more times than I care to admit. The four of you on that stage were mesmerizing. Few bands got me the way that one did. Your story is legendary and your talent deserves more attention than it has garnered. *Love Remains* is a great body of work. I would love to hear more originals from you.
I listened to Tal for years. How is it I'm only discovering she's Australian now? I'm so embarrassed! Tal thanks so much for you being you and bringing your own style and persona to the table. It's not lost on so many of us who love what you do.
1) Some bass notes have accents, but none have Aussie accents. 2) Contrary to flat-earth theory: you don't need to string the bass as follows, down-undah: E|--------------------------- A|--------------------------- D|-------------------------- G|--------------------------
I'm so glad we live in the video age, that epic video shows your confidence and mastery of the bass. It would be a shame if we could not see this performance.
I was there. It was an amazing summer day. Thank you, Lyle for the extra ticket! The weather was hot and the music was even hotter 🔥. I didn’t realize it at the time how fortunate we were. I always felt like I was born too late and wished I had grown up seeing shows in the 60’s/70’s. However, I look back now and I was still a part of a very special time (80’s, 90’s, early 2000’s) of Live music. I was still able to see many of my heroes some pretty amazing shows. I’m very grateful for it 🙏🏼.
I was at the festival and was floored by Jeff's entire set! That being said, Tal's performance really stood out as exceptional! Considering the lineup of great musicians that pulled out all the stops that hot beautiful day!
The nod and a wink, the spontaneous ear to ear grin that follows and the smiles of recognition and admiration are all part of the sweet icing on a cake of rich musical ingredients. It makes me moist eyed and choked watching Tal & Jeff, totally absorbed in the moment, playing jaw dropping music together.
This is such a great moment. Jeff Beck may not have the biggest "star" in the world, but he certainly was if you were a musician. I think it's a beautiful gesture that he gave this at the time unknown young lady such a spotlight. Funny thing is that Beck had a reputation for being difficult to work with when he was young - the moody and volatile rock guitarist. He obviously mellowed. He was still at his peak when he died last year. The outpouring of love for Beck at his passing was wide and deep. He also made me a big fan of Tal.
On my bucket list was to see Jeff Beck perform live. Through amazing karma, was fortunate enough to have a center stage front row seat for his Austin, Texas performance a year ago. And then he passed away. I'm so sad yet so grateful for that opportunity and to have thoroughly appreciated his music since the '70s with Blow by Blow onward. Thank you to the universe for Jeff Beck's wonderful talent and guitar mastery.
Tal I have been following your career for years. You are an incredible musician and performer. Thank you for sharing your talents with the world! R.I.P. Jeff.🎸🎸🎸🕊🕊🕊😎
I loved to hear what you said. Shows your professional maturity, but also how a passionate musician you are. To be grateful for the opportunity to play in Jeff Beck’s band, demonstrates your humble character. Congratulations for your solos !!! They where amazing, I feel so happy that you made a such a great job playing in front of 400 guitarist’s !!! Becks generosity is amazing and will be missed. Cheers from Brazil.

Jeff is one of the biggest influences in my planying, but also for improvisation I remember seeing this video years ago now, and was completely blown away by both you guys, but then also the drummer and keyboard is because everyone nailed their parts and just played off each other so well! I wish I could’ve met Jeff , but I was able to acquire one of his guitars, and I did a tribute song for him using the licks I learned through the years and improvisation, and I used my Jeff Beck Strat! I’m stoked for the future you’ve carved for yourself and wish nothing but the best for you Tal!
Miss & love you, Jeff, and love you too, Tal! First time saw you was Live at Ronnie Scotts in London, & was blow away by your playing and your beautiful smile that lights me up inside, and am sure other folks too!!!

That, my friend, is the point of existence. To run and play along this course of life with which we've been blessed, and doing so by following your muse with the talents and tools provided you. This is what it's all about. Good luck with your play along your way! John~
You spoke some very true words about being a perfectionist. When I was younger in the 1970s, I was in a few garage bands. We were always trying to play perfect and it would wear the band down. It made playing not fun. In the last band I was in during the 2000s. I made sure everyone knew that each and every one of us would screw up and it was up to the other band members to cover for us. And that we were playing for fun and the music. Sometimes we screwed up as a band and just stopped playing a song because it just didn't work that night. But we had fun and the audience didn't mind, when we told them why.
I bought the Crossroads DVD when it came out, still have it! I can remember what I thought at the time: Who is this young lady with the curly hair on bass who obviously has had some training?
Greatest electric rock guitar player of all time. 'Nuff said. I was crushed when I learned of his passing. RIP. The 'other world' is in heaven hearing you play. Tal is a force to be enjoyed and learn from for decades. What a life at such a young age.

When I first started playing out I was a teen and had no fear, then when I got older I started second guessing, getting nervous, it took me a long time to figure out I was playing with the wrong people plus over thinking the crowd, they're just there to have a good time. I think if a band leader or say lead singer has diva issues and makes a hostile environment it can affect performance, Jeff's approach is to make it a fun thing and that ends up reflecting in everyone's playing, they're at ease and happy and they play at their very best. RIP Mr. Beck
