      Just take the genres out of it. Guy has played everything and his touch and personality always shined through as unique with control over the guitar and the notes he played like his hands had power steering. One of the biggest losses to the guitar and music world. This is a guy who made your favorite guitarist swoon.

    I gotta be honest. As a guitarist for 30 years, I never dared to cover Jeff Beck. I wrote him off as "otherworldly;" a level to which I'd never obtain. But when I saw this set and Tal playing bass -- how Mr. Beck always included women and ethnic musicians on stage -- I became a fan all over again. R.I.P.

      I'm that way with SRV and Hendrix. I just don't touch them. At all. I'm a perfectionist by nature and if I can't dial in a tone mixed with a pick / fret style to within a margin I can enjoy my own playing, I don't mess with it. Have played for about 18 years now.

    • @Elwood.J.Blues13
      @Elwood.J.Blues13 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@guanguiberno1181 It's not at all impossible lol. There is nothing particular about a specific tone he is getting from his playstyle. Flamenco, and other styles of guitar aren't what's challenging. It's the way the guitar player produces a specific tone, vibrato and tension / release.
      Entre dos aguas, while absolutely difficult, is only difficult in terms of how well a player moves on the fretboard.
      SRV and Hendrix songs, I do know, it's the way they play it to produce a specific tone that's challenging.
      Take Wind Cries Mary for example. It's arrangement is easy enough. It's tone is the bitch.

    So very sad that Jeff Beck passed from the same disease my son contracted over 25 years ago. My son has many ,many disabilities from it. He contracted it age 19 and is now 45..RIP Jeff, have always loved you and Rod Stewart.❤❤

    Thank you Sir, for the best music of my lifetime. You got me to the Blues, along with Rory Gallagher, and it’s been a pleasure to share it with the whole world for decades. This hit hard, as much as Rory and Eddie, but….we have all your history to remember and cherish. Onward, to R&R Valhalla. 😢🇨🇦

    I've followed Jeff Beck since I was about fifteen years old and he was in The Yardbirds. I still don't know how he does all his special tricks. But what the hell. A brilliant guitarist and to my mind at least, the best.

    When I saw Jeff Beck for the second time in my life it was about 35 years later on. The first time was in Central Park where he and Rod Stewart played a freebie one Sat. afternoon along with Ron Wood on bass, that time. When I saw Jeff again he was touring with BB King and had Tal Wilkenfield as his bassist. Jeff can get anyone to play and he chose her, for a musical reason. She's about as good as it gets on bass.

    I admire that there are times when I hear Beck and don't know it's him until someone tells me it is; then, it becomes immediately apparent that it is distinctively Beck. Remarkable versatility.
    Do I need to mention the astonishing talent that he assembles when he performs?

    • @forcryingoutloud23
      @forcryingoutloud23 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      He always thinks he's the worst performer on stage, and puts his all in it -- even today. Even his performance style is iconic humble lead: he makes sure to stand and emphasize every band member when he's the focus.
