John Harte is a great character. No trip to Dingle is complete if you don't meet John on your trip around the peninsula got to know him over the years a great musician and loves the outdoor world.

I'm an ocean swimmer and would never go out in that rough tide. Congrats John on getting out there for your "mammalian dive response." It is the antidote to modern living.
And congrats to Ronan Kelly whose smile and voiceover are the antidote to lockdown blues. Thank you, thank you!

I miss the Dingle, my favourite part of Ireland, nearly every day of my life. I'd do almost anything to get there these day. But today, out of the blue, you brought the Dingle Peninsula to me. Thank you.

Thanks for learning about John Harte. I met him in Dingle a few years back, and am going again with hopes of seeing him again. He seemed a fascinating character with one heck of a sense of humor. I purchased one of his music CDs of his flute playing. I’d love 6o spend time with him. Extremely knowledgeable of the area.

Many years afo, when I was young - now 78 - I went throught the Conor pass. I recall looking down an Glean na nGealt. Happy days. Ach anois tá mé i mo chonaí i ndeisceart na Fraince. There is so much I miss about Ireland. But if you really want to experience the full magic of the ocean, go to Malin Beg and brave the waters with no modest covering at all. There is then nothing between you and the cosmos. Now I am too old, and too far away to cope with all those (300?) steps down to be beach (and more importantly back up again), but the contact with nature, with nothing synthetic in between is a blessing I cannot describe. Try it before age makes it impossible..

The Atlantic must have a magic about it, & surfing the Atlantic must do wonders for people. John is a friendly, calm person. Just like Tom Ramwell, from one of your previous videos, up in Mayo, who also surfs the Atlantic. When this pandemic is gone, I'm going to learn to surf & go west to the Atlantic to surf.
    You meet lovely people Ronan.

Fair play John. Only met you twice but both times the craic was good. Great to see real characters in a world that is becoming increasingly mono.

What about a visit to Peter Kilroy and family, harp-makers extraordinary, in the village of Kenmare (unsure of the spelling, sorry...), in south Kerry? (Sometimes they'll use centuries-old wood preserved in and retrieved from the peat bogs...)
