  • In the second video of our Ireland series, we set a home base in Killarney drove two of Ireland's famous ring roads: the Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula. Both were spectacular!

    I go to the area every year to hike and relax with a few pints...Both the ring of kerry and dingle are amazing!! Ring of kerry dont miss the stague fort about half way around built in BC! Gap of dunloe also!!!! Great pubs and music in town, I stay at the International hotel or Neptunes Hostel, both amazing. In dingle, the bee hive huts are amazing. Murphys pub in town has amazing food, drink and sraff. Dont miss connor pass with no guardrails lol...Going next week, cant wait...Glad you enjoyed it...

    Just done both of these. They are beautiful areas and great drives. Out of the 2, the Dingle wins it for me just for the Slea Head Drive. Absolutely amazing scenery.
    However both are beaten by the Beara Peninsula which is the next one down from the ring of Kerry. It’s another level.

      Agree, such a beautiful area! Had not heard of the Beara Peninsula but a brief look online and it seems amazing!

    Just got home last night from doing 3 weeks on the Wild Atlantic Way from Kinsale to Giants Causeway. It was spectacular! I’ve been to Ireland many times but not with this much travel. I personally liked the Dingle Peninsula drive better than Ring of Kerry. Looks like you had a great trip as well.
    Unfortunately there were many days it was just too windy to fly the drone but I still got great coverage.

      Sounds like you had a wonderful trip! Yes, the wind was always a question for us and we have a Mavic Mini so it struggles in the wind!

    Wow, I thought the BN'B at the start was going to be the highlight, how wrong I was. Great video guys, you got to do a few more things that I missed when I was there.

    Nice drone footage! What did you have to do to get the IAA privelages? I'm heading in May and want to make sure to be compliant? Thanks for sharing

    • @StNickTravels
      @StNickTravels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Best to confirm as I am not 100%, but I believe you just have to fill out the registration form on the IAA website and it covers you for all of Europe (link below). We fly a magic mini though so it is 249g and not required to be registered. Anywhere in particular you are looking forward to flying it?

      @@StNickTravels Thx, Yeah under the weight is great, but I don't have the mini. Mini looks great. Maybe will borrow one. I have Mavic 3. Well, have a few but want to bring the 3. Looked up and just have to register me, not drone and take a simple online test. THANKS FOR SHARING!

      Did you bring your drone in carry-on, or did you have to pack it in checked luggage?@@StNickTravels

      @@cbrettpYes, carry on it recommended! Less likely to get damaged but also you are not supposed to put batteries into checked luggage.

      Really tough question as we definitely enjoyed both a lot but I think if we HAD to choose, we would slightly favor Ring of Kerry. Happy travels!

      @@StNickTravels Great video! We are visiting in August and I've been debating ROK or Dingle Peninsula. We have a full day dedicated to Killarney National Park and will have just visited Cliffs of Moher - any thoughts on which one we should do?

    • @StNickTravels
      @StNickTravels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chelseylonneman I do not necessarily think you'll need a full day in Killarney National Park and perhaps that day you can also check out the Gap of Dunloe and the wishing bridge. I would say if that is a day you have already, definitely do the Dingle Peninsula on your other free day!
