Ronan Kelly's Ireland
Ireland
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 26 ธ.ค. 2016
Hey there,
I travel around Ireland, usually by bike and usually very slowly.
That way, I can take in the sights and have a better chance of happening upon people and places that interest me. My videos are a collaboration with the people I meet - I share them online and many of you seem to like them too.
They're not about romanticising Ireland or generalising about its people. Lots of places around the world have chatty people who've made remarkable choices - it just so happens Ireland is where I live and where I keep my bike.
Enjoy my videos and if there's anyone you think I should pester into making a video with, my email address is: ronankellysireland@gmail.com
Slán (goodbye)

There's a poster of Nobby Dunne in Bantry, Co.Cork. But, who is he and why is he described as a "problem-solver"?

lol I thought you were going to say in the intro ''and there's people who've visited here and have never returned''🤣
Meet John long time ago, we surf all day long Inch Beach. He opened my eyes for lot of things, now I'm happy divorced
I believe now that a friend and I encountered - the stray - one Sunday afternoon, when we were kids. We decided to explore a thicket of woodland, sandwiched between a field of crops to the left and the thick stone walls of a nursery to the right. The area we were interested in was probably 60-80ft square. And so, we crept into it from the dirt track with excitement. It was very quiet and calm in there with old trees of all sorts and vague paths that snake here there and everywhere. And from any location you could picked out it's boundaries including the road track. We loved it's seclusion and made plans to return to create a den. We climbed a few of the trees etc. And then we heard strange sounds and noises that always seemed very close. But nothing was seen. I laugh now as I type this but in those moments both myself and my friend looked at each other and then fled lol The spooky thing though was that now matter how hard we tried to end back the way we had come - we ended up back near the tree we had climbed. At times we lost each other too. But everytime we ran for the light of the roadside we became confused and turned back. We ran into each other as well. The noises followed us to like we where being stalked by some unimaginable creature. For a very long 5 minutes we ran around in confused circles. Always able to see the way out but then finding ourselves heading away from it. When we did get out it was wierd looking back to see clear pathways around the trees. This way two 11yr old kids who explored woods and land with a clear sense of our bearings. We never went back. That place looking so calm and natural contained something unnatural
That stone looks like The Holy Stone Of Clanrickard.
Lovely to see someone looking after part of our history
Amazing ancient landscape. This is fast disappearing in Ireland. You can feel the energy from the place through the video.
3rd eye?
Ok
My grandfather was a douser, could find water, etc. with a forked stick of hazel.
Utterly marvellous - Thanks!!!!
Who's the person in the background walking past the tree 🌳 when you are talking about carrying the pebbles in your pocket,🤔
I'll be visiting Galway from Australia in December. I'd like to visit the farm.
👏🏻
I've seen Fairies twice in my life. One looked at me when I was running down a trail in Ohio. He was hugging a tree and was almost invisible, but he realized I saw him. What did I do? I nodded and went my way. When I ran past that tree the next day, he was not there. The second was in my own back yard to a place under a tree that my pets paid a lot of attention to. I was sure it was just a gopher or some other animal until I spotted and small being, fully formed and proportional at the entrance of the hollow under the tree. Again, he knew I saw him. Again, I just nodded and let him be. In both cases I think I was rewarded with a little peace and fortune. The moral is, if you encounter one of these folk, show some respect and leave them alone.
Where is this man B&B
Excellent
Devils jesus is coming back repent and get right with him😊
More of this obscene nonsense. Dowsing; which has been thoroughly debunked, with copper wire treatment 🤦🏻♂️ Madness.
I’m a proud Kelly descendant but my Irish has been lost….because they came to Australia 150 years ago. I love watching videos of home, it’s like I’m listening to voices and hearing my ancestors speak, telling me of faeries and standing stones.
Great video. Americans didn't "ruin" the fairies, though, they just see fairies that look different than these Irish fairies on Pat's land.
Glad to see you back!
Keep an open mind and respect the land. So grateful for people like Pat who understand true wealth.
Loved this!!
How about the abusive children's home on tivoli road
Love these types of guys that are truely connected to the land and the ancient traditions. They're dying off sadly in Ireland. It's up to us to pass on the traditions.
I love old hand skills. I was a machinist for 22 years. I started in my first machine shop as shop helper worked my way up to a old manual machine's and worked my way up to CNC machine's . My grandfather was a shipwright in the ship yards building ships in world warII. I wish I had of gotten his hand made tool chest and tools. He thought me many skills with my hands as a kid and young adult. These skills need to be thoroughly recorded and talked to the next generation so we don't lose them. Once skills like this are lost they are gone forever. Love the work keep it up. Kris
Thank you, Ronan, for keeping a few of your brilliant little videos still available to see. With the migrant situation going on, I've been waiting for it to clear up before I head to Ireland again. I'm missing it all terribly, but I'm grateful for the glimpses of these dear people I love so much.
8.36 someone’s in the trees 🌳???????????!!
It is so sad to see this once beautiful house falling into disrepair. I don't understand his children either, couldn't they clean it up together? Even if he doesn't like renovations, at least they could tidy it up. It's a terrible mess there. He's old and surely he won't be able to live there permanently. That's why it's up to the family to tidy it up together. I don't understand things like that.
Tá sé seo go hálainn ar fad. Féir plé Joe!
Galway is a dive anyway.😂
Fairy is a part of trees 🌴 like a souls you can't see but you can feel them 🕊️
WOW❤
I'm Ronan and I just looked up my name this was the first thing that showed up. This is peculiar because I live in the same area
I miss your wonderful videos! I understand you have a full plate these days. My favorite was the shopkeeper in Kinnitty, Iris was her name. I wonder if she is still with us? Such a delight! Thank you so much for all the videos. You put so much time and effort into each and every one. I wish you well. I'm from Seattle in the US with an ancestral home of my late grandmother in Castlegregory, Co. Kerry. Beautiful country!
So lovely to have this video roll in again. One of the best, full of laughter.
Now I know why I left Ireland
Miss your Stories Ronan, Great stuff on this as always
I live in California, and we have a lot of faries here too.
I live in California too. Have had two experiences. It got me interested in all this. So I’m curious always to know more about Californian stories, history, etc. have you had any? Or curious to know what you know.
Who is the Ian that told you to check it out ?
What a gem of a video this is
Hello Ronan. I hope you’re keeping well. I’m getting ready to come over for my annual trip to dear Ireland and Im wondering if this shop is still open? The ROBERT FLYNN store that is. I wanted to add it to my itinerary while I’m there. Thank you so much. I watched and loved all of your TH-cam videos. Sorry that I don’t see any new ones out there. Again, hope you and your loved ones are keeping well ! -Sue,
❤You are a great treat .
Haven’t seen any of your videos in a while . Always loved them . Hope you are well
There's a big notable difference in the feeling of loss of concentration & time h place being changed unreasonable & next thing you know is your 5 miles out of your way h not having any recollection of how you get there.
