- G'Day Viewers! It's finally here! My full build of the DDA Collectibles Holden HQ Kingswood! I've built this one on behalf of Mrs. PB for her dad for Father's Day on Sunday 3rd of September. Don't forget on behalf of KC and PB we'll have a slide show on Sunday 3rd of all the builds / works in progress I have received before that date! And I got a real exciting notification from the postman on Monday, and if the parcel arrives Friday like it should, I'll have a brand new kit unboxing for you on Saturday 2nd that will take excitement levels....... to the max! Man, the Boulevard HQ Monaro and now the A9X Torana are unobtainium down here, unless you wanna pay $50+ for the HQ (and I've seen $120 paid for the Torana) Which is a shame 'cos all us Aussies wanted them for customs. The new VF Commodore Matchbox is the same, regular folk can't get them. Got another Aussie classic next week!

Nice, I've always wondered what it must be like to be so close to so many different countries and practically drive to most of them. I could drive six hours and still be in Queensland lol. Thank you Ben!
beautiful job PB. I had a 74 HQ Premier. Same colour scheme. Had bone coloured interior. 253 motor. Also had the fuel, oil , temp as a tri guage in place of the single fuel guage. Wish I kept it.
Thank you David! The benefit of hindsight is a wonderful thing, I let my old man talk me into selling my Charger R/T in the 90's. If you and me and everyone knew what Aussie cars would be pulling today, we'd A: never have believed it and B: hung on to them all, but that's life I guess.

Totally GMH HQ to the letter, PB. I see you you struggled in the same way I had. The bonnet is fixed by filing out the back of the mount curves it sits more betterer then. But Those Hub caps man so cool to see them. That said they were the first thing ixnayed when I bought my real one for a set of Elstar chrome 5 slots. Love the Esky and venetians so 70's Awesome job PB awesome. Cheer's and Happy fathers day for Sunday. JV
Thank you JV! I should have given more time to fixing the bonnet. The expected 'Avalanche' of photos hasn't materialised, so it looks like it's me and you on Sunday's Vid lol. You get your HJ Vans yet? I got a notifications they were on their way, but they haven't lobbed yet.

Thanks Kev! I've been transitioning off the background music so I'm really glad for that feedback. I used to have my music playing while I was working, and in editing I'd have to kill ALL the audio to get around the copyright, and used to use 'stock' music to fill the void. And Mrs, PB is her own worst critic, so I'll keep that one between us lol 😂
Nice Peter,what I like about these DDA kits is they also provide information on the actual GMH colours that the HQ came out with
Hi Karl, me too as my FIL told me the colour of his HQ was 'Sherwood' green, and when I saw the DDA list call it 'Dublin' green, I thought I was in trouble, but they were right and the 'Dublin' green is EXACTLY the green Paul's HQ was.
@@PBsRetroRestorations Mate just checked out your HJ video, I'll chase that,Pete if you are willing I would like to get your hubcaps for The HQ,you did a bonza job on them,cheers mate,I do have acouple of DDA,s diecast EH in 1/64 and HGGTS and EH station wagon in1/43RD, as an Aussie they are valued in my collection

That looked amazing at the end, Peter.. The kit looks quality too. I am a little surprised though. You didn't 3-D print any wobbly-pops for the cooler. Still, that's a nice touch. Well done over all.

Nicely built mate. As for your mental state, my grandfather always told me self prasie was no great recomendation. Any ideas what this styrene would be like to work. My HQ Kingswood I drilled and panelbeated HJ Guard flutes into the guards so woul db keen to do that to my build
Thank you. I don't know what sort of styrene it is, it's definitely not like your AMT / Tamiya / Revell etc. but I can't see that it'd be too hard to modify. I've seen some HJ / HX conversion parts kicking about on facebook, and I guess you could always get the Panelvan kit that has the HJ flutes and do some chopping.

Hello what glues did you use in this video ?
Hi, I mainly used super glue for the plastic. It's feels like a different kind on plastic than you get in AMT, Tamyia etc and regular styrene glue might not cut it. I use pva / canopy glue for the glass and parts you can see. Thanks for watching.
